Ep 8…what hits me:
- Lan Er’s betrayal, just because TTJ is not her child and she has no love or empathy for him, I wonder what happened to humanity. Even though she said she have to do it for good reasons, it’s just pure cruelty.
- Nian Bai Yu’s silliness, he is so easily trick by YXW.
- YXW’s dance, TTJ’s eyes on her when she dance
- and TTJ’s yearning to catch her when she jumps off the boat, how sad he feels when he realised she would rather jumped off the boat then to stay with him.
- Seeing TanTai MingLang, the actor was so much better in MCLB, here he is such a joke.🤣
- then confrontational scene when TTJ discovered he was betrayed, always hit me with lots of sadness.😭😭😭

Yes, feels so sad when for her. she can’t walk properly, worst with her age.😭. But she is a very strong lady, telling me how lucky we were in the modern times. Not sure her village would still practice such tradition.

Yeah I know, I found out by accident when I saw her bare feet then I asked her. She said she was forced to do it in her village when as young as aged 5, then only released her feet when she got married to her husband, her feet was already deformed so she can’t wear proper shoes. She has to live with her deformed feet.😭

That’s the irony, they could be the weaker sex but in order to defend themselves have to point fingers at women…oops…hope I didn’t offend any men watching this. I am talking based on the context in this drama😆.

I just mentioned that I still know a neighbor from China, she is age 70, still have her feet binded. I feel so much pain for her.😱

The news happened quite sometime ago, bad press and his Ex-girlfriend posted bad pictures of him that created a lot of uproar in C social media, since then according to media, his dad (director) has advice him to lay low. Poor chap, just after his glory and recognition from L&P, this happened and he is shelved. 😓

Hi Jules! It’s good drama in my opinion, the plot is coherent, story pacing is good. Focus on empowering women and family struggles, the frustration are resolved quickly. FL is a strong and smart character, her wisdom and forward thinking helps her through and she is a great problem solver and super altruistic to people around around. Very cool and creative, logical character design, you will love her. Zhang JingYi does well with this role. ML’s acting is more stoic and flat, but I guess that’s his character here, at least till ep 20, there are no major misunderstandings and their love is mature. Join us for the watch;)

BIA’s plot focus a lot on empowering women and family melodrama, probably that’s what kept me going. The chemistry is getting better, the ML…hahahah…I just accepted that’s his acting style. Saw him in other dramas previously, he just acts like that🤣. Totally agreed that L&P, Arther and JingYi’s CP is on fire. But with Arther’s bad press, think he will have to lay low and his drama may not be air for a long long time😓.

I kind of understand what you mean about BCE…the overbearing mother is too much for me. Not in the mood for that 😅. And I just see YZ (FL) as XiaoYao (LYF) all over again but just in modern and less angst, suffering. Dropped. Liu Xue Yi just mesmerizing in that drama IB, want to see more grey character that he is filming, hopefully it will air soon.

So agreed, when I see silly misunderstandings, I will just drop the drama. These are old school tropes. Maybe in creative writing, new ideas have to be explored esp in relationships. However a lot of these historical dramas or even XianXia are based on novel adaptation which can be old. 🤣 We need more new creative writings. But I do see some original works that are interesting, eg. the modern drama “Meet yourself”, has a good mix of mature couple relationships.
