Dude, what was up with that whole live confession in front of everyone? So unnecessary and weird. Like the hosts…
That’s just the author way of thinking it’s cool to force a live confession from LYY, since he had became famous after the winning. That part is over-idealistic and dramatic writing. Yup, it’s in the novel and yes the host knew LYY but I don’t think they knew FL. And a proper competition wouldn’t do this as such things will affect players’ mood, the unprofessional host sure will be fired!
This is a very nice line at the end, although not a direct translation, it is what YG means to LYY…”When everything is a struggle and things are tough and impermanent, why try so hard. Just live aimlessly and float. Till at a snow storm, I met you.” He was lost, then with YG’s passion and love for the sports reignited his love for billiard. She is more than just a romantic attraction, she is a bridge of reconnection for him to his life.
Thanks all for sharing comments and discussion with me. Cya in other drama page, I will need time and space to descend from my pink cloud and detox from this sweetness. 😅
Done with express and all episodes. Here are some thoughts mark as spoiler. The last ep re-capped of the CP’s…
For once I would have preferred this drama don’t have an express drop, now I will be lost for a while especially been following Lei Lei and Mai Mai for past few weeks. I doubt I can find another drama that quickly to give this same sense of sweetness in a young couple. 1. I am really impressed by the fire chemistry between Lei Lei and Mai Mai. It’s their first Rom Com together and probably because they are closer in age and very compatible in looks. I feel them falling in love and progressive grow and flourish their love. The found each others’ love language. Really like how they express intimacy, from FL’s shyness to openness and ML’s poor communicating skills to learning to share more. The trust they have for each other and quiet support in difficult times or challenges are priceless moments for any couple. I wish they made another CP together for another drama. 2. I love the kinship, brotherhood and the family relationships. They are positive, things are handled maturely and everyone is generally supportive and kind to each other. Such an ideal world. 3. Wish they have more screen time for the second CP, which to my disappointment, didn’t develop any further. 4. The only complaint is that the director here wasn’t that good in filming climatic scenes for sports drama, it’s rather anti-climatic IMO. I have watched other sports drama, the climatic scenes and winning can have more ups and downs to show more of the sportsman struggles, I guess that’s why some commenters felt this part is boring. I don’t find billiard boring, however capturing the moment requires camera direction and director’s angle. E.g. the ping pong drama with Bai Jing Ting in it, was much better done in terms of the pacing of filming a competition.
I feel the chemistry is natural in both ways. Lei Lei’s intense stares and Mai Mai’s big round eyes, just felt they will melt each other with that causal look when their gaze meet. Great casting, going to be so hard to say goodbyes. Now I wish they will have second pairing. 😍
Ep 24, the emotional scene from Lei Lei is so heartbreaking, it’s not just the crying but the way the scene was narrated, one can really feel his grief for his mentor.
