FL’s mom choose love over career (hinted her mother is also an excellent interpreter) and to FL, mother appears miserable and never got approval from maternal grandfather. So FL decided to choose career and she doesn’t want her decision to influence ML who got into a school that needed him to leave for oversea, so she chooses to breakup with him. The pressure from her maternal grandfather seems strong on her who also told her not to make the wrong choice like her mother. If this is communicate, I am sure it can be easily sort out, or if they do breakup, it won’t be so traumatic for both. But I guess then we don’t have this story to tell. lol!

Agreed! FL is a stubborn and headstrong character. Yes, I do enjoy this CP, totally agreed that the casts and story telling is great so far. Enjoy!

This CP’s tension and chemistry are strong, and enter another male suitor. Although I felt their breakup 8yrs ago could be avoidable and resolved easily if they just talk it through. Sigh, well that’s the plot here.

Breakup because of misunderstanding and lacks communication…typical troupe…and we have another male suitor. I am really trying to like this FL’s character, but her stubbornness and headstrong character can really push ML away. And ML’s prideful character will also make the misunderstanding deepen. Let’s see how many ep., does it takes for them to work things out.

The tension between our CP here is evidently strong! Initially when I read the synopsis, I was wondering why a guy couldn’t let go of his Ex for 8yrs, why so obsessed, or he must be so traumatized when she broke up with him, or his pride is so bruised by her. I am glad the drama shows her anxiety with hiccups, showing she is also greatly affected by him.

Interesting to learn a little about an interpreter’s profession. Realised with the culture heavy Chinese language, understanding the context in translation is indeed very important. Wonder will machine ever replace this profession, like most of our concern in current days, will AI replace human.

Different type of CP dynamics. This one has more tension and both leads have equal strength. However CXX is charming in both😍.

An English production, can’t expect much on their Mandarin😅. I love Michelle Yeoh too, glad she finally won an Acedemy Award. She is a versatile actress. Read the review for this show is not too bad, I may just check out a few ep to see. Thanks for mentioning it.

Yeah unlikely a season two. It’s disappointing, started out with lots of creative possibility but just fallen so short on the story telling.
