It can be confusing but by latest ep., it may become clearer. We know very likely Li Jie maybe a puppet made by Yuan Wu Huo to protect JiLing/fake Long Shen.
Initially I always thought Bai Zhe is Yuan Wu Hou, but I was wrong.

If this script follows the novel, FL choose to be mortal and they live happily together in the end.

That’s the first thought I had..,Jiu Ying reminds me of Mdm Black Fox in Swird and Pavilion, feeds on hatred and anger and could never die.

I thought Ji Ling was just a fragment of Chi Wen’s memory of his young self that no longer exist, and the grown up version is now Chi Wen. Lu WuYi will have to learn to accept them as they are both as one person😅.

I felt that it could be a common trope in c drama romance, making strong ML simp over strong FL…🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️.

It’s the way it’s directed, I feel that this drama make DX acts like a puppy towards FL in the Void. I didn’t get this impression when I read the novel 😓.
DX as a character is not weak, actually I feel he is pretty much like Lin BuYi, Love like the Galaxy, a deep character but carries a smile as his mask all the time. He is indeed clever and very observant, strong survival instinct, also much quieter and learnt fast. But that’s my opinion, so maybe other novel readers have different take on it.

Yeah, from a non technical person who watched a lot of c drama and XianXia/XuanHuan genre, as you mentioned, I do find this drama’s cinematography, CGI and costumes all pretty good. And like you observed, some viewers tend to be very harsh on this show 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Exactly! Hence I can’t understand when people comment that the CGI and cinematography is bad here…🤷🏻‍♀️This is so beautiful, especially the colour tone.

Recently there has been quite a few retro dramas set in 1980s, 1970s etc. Had to be selective with the acting and plot, but will definitely pick that one up again😍.

It ended okay, can watch.;) Ep 22 onwards will have a little separation but u hope it’s not long.
