Very true. In other sense she is crazy.

I guess Ye WenJie is depressed and self destructive, hence her only mission is to destroyed humanity. Her mental state is the result of the revolution and war, quite sad from another perspective that she can’t even enjoy life when it got better.

That will be pretty sensitive for China…

Just started this…finished its book, wondering how the team going to ensure it’s originality in this drama.

Ep 28, HongDuo is beginning to realised how she missed the town and XZY by buying the shower foam he used and trying to get business opportunity for the town. It’s was hinted by a friend that she should consider taking up the family resort business in the town but at this point, I guess she has yet find courage to try investment or try such risk to be a social entrepreneur herself. She seems uncertain even she has been offered a stable job in Beijing, she is somehow still contemplating. Waiting eagerly for her to take that leap of faith and make the decision to go back.

Ep 27, final closure for HongDuo’s grief. Great acting skills Liu YiFei!
Then I feel for ZhiYao, he thought he has been abandoned by Hongduo, so dejected that he even choked on fish bone! Aso nice to have Granny Xie’s wisdom to remind him, what to value and what to pursue. Reminds me of my Granny.
LiXian’s acting is also so natural, my emotions literally follow his, throughout the ep!

Ep 25/26 is the sweetest!!! The chemistry and heartaches for ZhiYao. Ep 25, The scene where HongDuo’s need for intravenous medicine, then vs HongDuo nursing ZhiYao’s scratch wound. So warm and fluffy!
In my opinion, ep 26, that’s a formal and yet gentle confession from Xie Zhi Yao, it was accepted by HongDuo but she can’t response accordingly and could only gave a grateful hug. XZY is respectful and even encourage her to go back to Beijing and live her life. Great script! Great acting, the subtle emotions! Can watch it like many times.
Can’t bear to see them part.

Finally got my network up, marathon through ep 25-28!!! Such an emotional roller coaster with good feelings too! Have to share my thoughts below, warning spoiler!

Yes! It is ‘slice of life’ kind of story, focus on many themes from death, grief, family relationship, friendship etc. The script is smart, it is refreshing and therapeutic to watch. Check out the comment page, it’s very active.;)

In my opinion, can try. It’s a slow burn romance but there are broader theme in culture and other people. It’s definitely not shallow in its writing and focus on lots of existential and real life struggles.

Agreed with sweet_dream’s comment above. Nice write up you done. Can consider writing a review after the drama is over, so audience who dropped by here, will be able to have deeper understanding of this great drama.
I am totally enjoying every episode, and felt your points are well stated, currently my network is down, so eagerly waiting it to be back on Friday, where I can catch up with ep 25/26.

Had tried a few, but dropped them. The one that caught my attention now is ‘Meet yourself’, a slightly different theme and although romance is slow burn. The script is good. Can try.

This production team and writers have done some other good work. But this drama seems to have the most themes been explored. Enjoyed every episode;)

Agreed! She is very pretty and natural. Love her voice too!😍 it’s her first modern drama.
I like Li Xian too, a very talented and down to earth actor, seen some of his past works, impressive.

Yeah, like Ah Yao said, HongDuo and her sister have a love hate relationship. They love each other but yet so headstrong to admit it. I thought it’s a nice move that Ah Yao helps HongDuo to realise her sister’s visitation intention.

That’s good writing. More realistic progression.

So far many life related themes have been explored and contemplated including family relationship, friendship, dreams, expectations, needs, values, community, marriage, career choices, growth, death, grief…indeed a piece of great writing. It would be good if they publish a novel out of this drama.

Ep 24, priceless mistakes, XZY’s official first date with HD, had a price tag still on his shirt!
Initially I thought the bathing scene was made for fans, hahaha, then I realised it’s for the subtle advertising of shower foam…hahaha.
