I like Damai and Nana, but love Granny Xie the most adorable granny! Actually I felt all the supporting role casting suits them well.

Yes, that’s why XZY is confused till he realised at ep 21 when XHD is ready to reveal the full story. I thought it’s nice script writing, although you can see that XZY misunderstood her but he was also not pushy and was respectful, hence she can learn to trust him later, nice touch.

The 2 leads has no relationship. ML grew up from the village, gone to big city finished his studies and had a well paid job but decided to come back to his hometown to develop the place. The FL works very hard in the city as a hotel manager, decided to quit and was in existential crisis after her best friend died. She decided to go on a travel trip to Yunnan (where her deceased friend would have wanted to go) the village where ML is in. They met and from beginning there were mutual attraction as they both seems to understand each other quite well, and their love developed with support from happening in the village.
There are subbed till ep 17 in Viki but from some other sites, no sub till ep 22… so watch on an enjoy the meaningful ride;)

Yeah, XZY has such a nice and caring character, and handsome looking, one would wonder why didn’t every girl in the village fall for him…hahah. Wasn’t that surprise when Hulu’s mom reveal her little secret crush on him.

I have a different opinion about this couple. Actually felt that they got good chemistry. The treatment of their romance is mature and down to earth. both Ml and FL are very suitable for their roles. Slow building, the initial politeness with each other was because they both have their things to be preoccupied with. But when they looked at each other as ep progresses, the silent moments, their subtle look at each other are very warm and fuzzy. Let’s see how they progresses from ep 23 onwards.

Yes, agreed with you. Both scenes were done so nicely and natural. I felt all characters do their roles well hence gave audience a relatable and warm feeling watching them.;)

Just done with ep 21/22, agreed with one of the comment below that it has the most meaningful dialogue between XZY and XHD about grief. Love how both XZY and XHD narrated their roles. Esp. Liu YiFei as XHD, has so much depth, she done so well in this role. Whereas LiXian’s XZY is such a positive, strong, energetic and reliable man, and most of all they understand each others’ struggles and they both knew when to say the right thing to console each other. Good script. It may feel slow for some viewers, but I felt it totally works for me, I can see the confession happening in next ep. 23.
Also love the promotional video they made for Yunnan, really feel like going there now…hahaha.

Ep 20, another insightful conversation between ZhiYao and Hong Duo on perspectives of suffering . Love the different dialogue held by different character, each has its piece of wisdom to contemplate on.
