I have a different opinion about this couple. Actually felt that they got good chemistry. The treatment of their romance is mature and down to earth. both Ml and FL are very suitable for their roles. Slow building, the initial politeness with each other was because they both have their things to be preoccupied with. But when they looked at each other as ep progresses, the silent moments, their subtle look at each other are very warm and fuzzy. Let’s see how they progresses from ep 23 onwards.

Yes, agreed with you. Both scenes were done so nicely and natural. I felt all characters do their roles well hence gave audience a relatable and warm feeling watching them.;)

Just done with ep 21/22, agreed with one of the comment below that it has the most meaningful dialogue between XZY and XHD about grief. Love how both XZY and XHD narrated their roles. Esp. Liu YiFei as XHD, has so much depth, she done so well in this role. Whereas LiXian’s XZY is such a positive, strong, energetic and reliable man, and most of all they understand each others’ struggles and they both knew when to say the right thing to console each other. Good script. It may feel slow for some viewers, but I felt it totally works for me, I can see the confession happening in next ep. 23.
Also love the promotional video they made for Yunnan, really feel like going there now…hahaha.

Oh yes at ep 17. However at ep 20, they will have another such insightful conversation, at the mountain area, when they went ‘berry plucking’;) watch on.

Ep 20, another insightful conversation between ZhiYao and Hong Duo on perspectives of suffering . Love the different dialogue held by different character, each has its piece of wisdom to contemplate on.

Hmmm…I wonder why the additional ep 39, GNT’s illness feels totally unnecessary here. Could have ended at ep 38.

Nice conversation about grief between XZY and XHD in ep 18.

Slow pace awkwardness but by bit building the romance between XZY and XHD, with strong emphasis on culture as the frame. Love how they scripted and started filming their tourist promotional videos in latest ep.

Eng Sub is only till ep 11 at the moment.

I felt the drama can end at ep 38, as everything seems complete.

Ep 38 seems to be the sweetest for the couple😍 including SS and XZ, even YH.

Omg! I haven’t watch it but now I don’t know whether I should watch it, seems more for both to handle at the last few episodes.

Done! Enjoyed it. Love the friendship and kinship, love how smart each story was solved. Love how both characters have their strengths and compliment each other. Although SY’s ability is really over the top, can’t imagine such a person exist in real life and how he would have contributed to solving many crimes. Wonder will there be a season 2.

Ep 16, wow XHD managed to convince XZY’s father to support XZY. Way to go! XZY is full of admiration for XHD and beaming all the way.

At ep 11, clearly some parts not realistic or logical but yet the story telling and creativity of each cases were applauding. No wastage of time and China police is definitely very efficient here. Will binge till the end.

I am impressed how they decided to also show the process of therapy for FL’s mom…;)
