Finally managed to read CFY’s goodbye letter to L&P and LX. A long reflective essay indeed. It helps me understanding his take as an actor towards representing this character and the story that became so popular by chance. May the actors and actress continued to strive in their acting career and continue to present great drama to audience.
After watching the recent released cut scenes, I do understand why these scenes are removed. Re-watching some past ep and ep 36, following LX and ZY’s character, it’s a nice touch of realism for them to just make decision to get married and even consider children over a conversation, as it’s a matter of fact. Given their maturity in relationship, there is no need for additional sweetness as they understand each other deeply (although the proposal scene was still very touching to see). As couple they are truly aligned and will always support each other till the end of time, as LX’s reflection at the ending scene, “she will also be the last person I see.”
I still haven't seen any subbed version of the special episode. To those who have seen it, I have a question :Is…
The proposal scene seems to happened after they got their cert. then ZY was commenting how come it’s always her asking him to be together and she asked him to get married (at the sofa of new house). He replied then you wait for me…and next scene flash to them both at the bridge, and he proposed, so yes, it’s that evening of their marriage.
sadly some Asian mothers are like thatso selfish and overprotective. Coming from a mixed Family myself, i know…
In the drama, I don’t think ZY’s mother ever allow herself to have the openness to understand LX, so I don’t think she even know about LX’s family background. She is filled with much pride and prejudice and crowded by her judgement;)
this is a slice of life drama, the pace is very slow. I am on eps 20 and its still about the same nothing change.…
Agreed that it can feels slow for some. But works for me as I enjoy following some depth in building up of the characters. Perhaps why so many here are still hooked on re-watching.
Depends on your preference in drama. If you are looking for youth coming of age story, struggles with unfortunate events, facing consequences, perseverance in love and what one believe in, managing parental’s expectation, friendships, betrayal and revenge. The romance in this drama is not cliche and over the top and definitely not toxic; instead realism to the character design. So far in the chat, many chance upon this drama by chance, and majority were very satisfied after completing. The pivotal point for the plot happened between ep 18-22. So watch on :).
now rewatching on Viki, jjuusstt in case something got lost in translation 😅
Honestly, it’s never the same when some phrases are translated. The original language present a different feel and when the actors expressed it in the design of the character, the composite makes it sensational to watch. Like kdrama, the feel always so different with the translation. I feel for you, hopefully Netflix can do a better job.
It’s on his Weibo account, not translated, it’s in Chinese. I have attached the link, see whether you can access.
