I interpreted the airport subplot as a plot convenience to create a distance between the leads so that ML wouldn't be watching the FL grow into adulthood. That would have felt like grooming then.

Time of the year could be a factor. Like it could be she was near the end of 17 when the airport incident happened and her uni started belatedly because of entrance tests, waiting period and stuff like that.

I am actually enjoying Victor's portrayal more.

Wow you took it literally, I was referring to the lack of story. Like one can watch it at 2x speed and fast forward at the same time and won't miss anything. Honestly the writers/pd can't expect everyone to enjoy such filler-filled, slow paced drama because of some randomly scattered tropes and popular leads. Even modern cdrama are better than this.
