Yup, the scholarship thingy is a bit lame. Yes she was cheated of her scholarship but life still turns out fine for her. She is living a luxurious life and being rich. If she was cheated out of the scholarship and 2 decades later she is still poor, then I would hv understand the resentment. So I don't really buy that.
I feel like incorporating the homophobic storyline here would hv really given OhmNanon more opportunities to shine and show off their acting skills. Perhaps also I love those plots and usually by the end the parents would hv come around and that to me show charater growth so I always appreciate that. I mean, homophobia is not something innate, it was taught, and for people to unlearn this hate is something that is very inspiring to see.

Maybe I was just a bit more disappointed cos I am a sucker for those forbidden love and the 'me and bf against the whole world/ homophobic parents or society' plotline lol, as depicted in the wonderful movie Your Name Engraved Herein. Speaking of that movie, ep 11 here gives off lots of vibes about the movie, from the beach setting, their running away together to their eventual return to their families and the breakup that happens. I felt like P'Aof was directly referencing that movie in the entire plot for ep 11. I still think the scholarship plot was lil bit silly, I would hv prefer for it to be something super serious such as Pat's father and Pran's mother were dating before, and then Pat dump her eventhough she is pregnant and she suffer a miscarriage,...that would be such a huge drama lol!

I dunno why but I don't get any chemistry from Pa and Ink. If it's a GL straight from the novel's plot then I think this would hv been done so much better, but like what I said Ink is a new character and suddenly making Pa and her being together seems like lazy writing to me.

I dunno what world you are living in but parents that divorced and have separate custody for their children are a dime a dozen from where I am. One of my ex-colleague's parents divorced, her mother gets custody of her while her father gets custody of her elder brother. She and her mother remain in Malaysia, while the father and brother moved to Germany and guess what, they never kept in touch. It was only years later when the brother married that he reach out to them. In fact, they are not even close now and not really in touch with each other after the wedding.

Just out of curiosity, anyone who has read the book, is the feud for the same reason as it is in the series? Please…
Nope, in the novel it's more about the misunderstanding both sides have about each other's businesses though it is far more serious and yes a lot of it was driven by Pat's father's ego. The conflict stems from both Pat and Pran's fathers. They ran similar businesses supplying construction materials. Pat's father inherited the business, and the along came Pran's father who is a new competitor, but they were friendly rivals and occasionally collaborated. And then the economic downturn happens, I believe it is the Asian Financial Crisis 1997 that the novel hints, and Pat's father's business goes down the drain. He tried to get help from Pran's father but was refused. And to make it worse some of his clients dump him and went over to Pran's father business. He was driven to suicide but only stop when his wife informed him that she is pregnant with baby Pat. So the root of it goes that deep.

Personally even though I knew P'Aof said there will be a huge change of plot for the series, I was still disappointed when they reveal the cause of the feud it's becos of Pat's father cheating Pran's mom of her scholarship. I felt this was a bit too silly. It is serious but not as serious as depicted in the novel.

In the novel as well, Pat's parents were so dramatic when they found out that Pat is dating Pran and they literally begged and threaten him to end the relationship and force him to marry a girl as they can't accept that Pat loves another guy. Pran's parents were not so dramatic as Pran was depicted as being gay all along and he never dated anyone before, and his parents kinda knew all along but it's mostly quiet acceptance, they were just disappointed as Pran was dating the son of their enemy, not becos he's gay.

I would have love for P'Aof to incorporate the homophobic parents storyline as I believe OhmNanon can definitely handle such heavy drama but the storyline seems to whitewashed such important topics so honestly it is a bit disappointing from this ep 10.

And I'm sorry but I don't feel any chemistry between Pa and Ink here. Ink was a new character created for the series adaptation and I guess this is always the issue when a new character is created and made to fit into the existing plot. Her scenes with Pa felt bored and forced and I just have an icky feeling this was just done to pander to LBGT fans. I don't mind a lesbian love relationship, but the way it's being done seems to me that it's just a token note on the entire plot.

First half is good. Lots of people complaining about the loose bolt scene that caused the spaceship to crash and the moonwalk scene lol and even though I also felt those scenes were somewhat ridiculous, the show compensates by the excellent atmospheric vibe and the constant suspense the characters experienced. It kept me engaged.

Second half was where is all falls apart, unfortunately. Lots of plotholes, silly plotlines, and meaningless plot divergence which amounts to nothing. Disappointing.

Not sure. But a lot of Indian fans can recognise the parody and have no problems with it. There are a vocal minority on twitter(where else, lol) who takes offense to this and they complain endlessly about it.

It seems me none of these ppl even knew that Thailand has a sizeable Indian minority especially Sikhs. This is shown in one scene in FUTS where Duean who dressed up as a Sikh with his tall turban pick up Meen and drove him home in his motorbike. He did not wear his helmet in that scene as he is wearing a turban, but in other motorbike-riding scenes he is indeed wearing a helmet. In Thailand, Sikhs who wear turbans are exempted from the motorbike helmet ruling by law. As in the case with Sikhs in Malaysia and Singapore.

Apparently according to Indian fans that particular scene where they dressed up as Indian Sikhs and crash their car, is a parody and homage of a similar scene in an old Indian comedy film, where the Indian characters dressed up as Sikhs. I also read somewhere that said this director of FUTS is a huge fan of Indian movies.

Title Not Me

Lol please don't change the topic and avoid confronting the truth just because it doesn't live up to your fantasy. Israel is the only country in the Middle East that accepts LGBTQ communities and have laws in place to protect them. The population overall also have no problems with LGBTQ people even when obviously they do have some crazy nutjobs who are intolerant of LGBTQ people but so do most other countries. In contrast, roughly 95% of all Palestinians in a Pew Research poll opposes homosexuality, and Hamas your so-called 'freedom fighters' believe death is the only appropriate punishment for homosexuality and actively kills gay men and even carried out some official executions. You can just google this, it's all for everyone to see.

I'm also a part of the LGBTQ community and I don't understand why some LGBTQ people will actively support murderous, bloddthirsty monsters just because it's a social cause that is seen to be hip and cool to support. I guess it is like what they say, 'there will always be turkeys voting for Christmas'.

i find it ironic how Not Me, a series that advocates anti-authoritarianism and the abolition of power, hierarchies,…
Lol hold it right there, Moshe Dayan was not responsible for any ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. In fact, the Israelis never engaged in widespread genocide of the Palestinians, so using the term 'ethnic cleansing' is really giving a false narrative to Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In the early days of Israeli statehood, the Jews were literally fighting for their freedom and survival as if they had lost, they would have been massacred by the Arabs.

I find ironic as well that someone who actively watches BL series and who I assumed to be supportive of LGBTQ rights, would actively backed extremist Islamists who would have no qualms killing LGBTQ people. In fact, there have been numerous killings of gay people in Palestine and those who managed to run away gets sheltered in Israel. Please get your facts right before blindly supporting some political cause just because it's hip to be seen to do so.

You don't cancel people for having a different opinion. Other peoples' opinions are valid as long as they don't wish physical harm on others. That's what I learn in school, that many others don't share your opinions, which are form by an individual's life experiences, which are different for everyone.
Fetishizing is also not a bad thing. Where do think S&M culture comes from?
I personally would not cancel anyone for having an opinion. This seems to be different for you. Go live in North Korea or Saudi Arabia then. They don't tolerate dissent in those place.

Offended minorities be staying offended for 'other minorities in other countries'. Duh, typical western SJW. Most likely from America. Toxic culture of identity politics. Hopeless case.

Three Indians vs hundreds or maybe thousands who find it entertaining as hell and appreciate the Bollywood references. The director even shared an IG post from an Indian fan expressing her delight and joy at the Indians scene. Why wouldnt' you share their opinions here? Go look up Youtube.

That happen in America, a country of racists, and this includes not just the whites, but the blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and everyone else. They all seem to hate each other.
In Thailand, the situation is different. No Sikhs were getting their turban rip off or have the community think of them as terrorists. Get yourself educated please.

How is that any different from, let's say, Sacha Baron-Cohen impersonating Borat which I think was much more inappropriate…
Exactly, so many butthurt comments here. it was included as a humorous scene and many Indians actually love the Bollywood reference! If people want to see offensive depictions of cultures, you can find them in many Chinese dramas and films. They always portray Japanese as the stereotypical villains who behave like sadists. I remembered there was even one time where a Chinese filmmaker depicted a Japanese soldier in a sympathetic fashion in a Word War II drama, many people were trashing him online for that. Talked about double standards.
