Keishi was acting like he was setting up a wedding registry at that furniture store.š„° He said heās moving into Tojo Manor expeditiously! In that scene, I feel like we got to see his youthful energy. Heās often the āresponsible one,ā but here he got to be playful and secure his own mug and bowl to mark his spot at Tojoās place.
I really donāt like that boy with the bowl cut. He refuses to mind his own business.
Now itās making sense why Naoki is pushing himself so hard and has memory problems. Heās gotta get these beats out before he gives up the ghost. Why did they have to add the disease trope? Canāt he just be kooky and that be enough? Now he has a brain tumor that was found AFTER getting struck by lightning playing a PIANO??? This is crazy.
Poor Yukino is crashing out. I want to know more about how Isagi became so powerful despite having zero talent and the full breakdown of his relationship with Naoki.
I love this drama, but I think Akane shouldāve been a supporting character. Iām not seeing any growth and finally joining a band, having a crush on an older man, or being locked in a closet isnāt a strong enough plot for a protagonist. We should know more about the other members and Yukino too, even the old manager. They all have more in-depth characters. Akaneās whole plot is idolatry. Sheās obsessed with a beautiful, broken man with a music addiction. This girl climbed a BUILDING to enter Naokiās room like sheās Romeo. š«
Isagi would win all the games on Alice in Borderland and stay as a citizen. This man is diabolical. He attempts to end TENBLANK by backhanded connections and revealing Naokiās illness, but also wants Naoki to keep working with him despite it impacting his illness??? Heās got Yukino scared for her life. How did he get to this level of power by stealing songs?
Dropped, skipped and else. I have a problem with jdramas. I just can not stand female leads that are either trying…
Youād probably like some of Nanaoās work. She tends to play chic characters with a tough exterior. I LOVED the Queen of Villains. It was very different. Kiss that Kills is another good one. I really enjoyed Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love! That was the first time I saw any Asian drama have a positive take on a plus-sized character and let her be a baddie. Colorful Love: Genderless Danshi ni Aisareteimasu had a strong FL and SFL. You, Me, and Bach was great.
The orange dye job is giving Paramore meets Hinata Shoyo.š It was a choice.
Episode 6 solidified my love for Toya! I wasnāt expecting the twist. His interactions with Naoki have so much depth. I need to know who Naokiās production team is because the way they can randomly set up last-minute stages and run cables in the most non-ideal places like speedboats and hospitals blows my mind. Shoutout to Genji! He hit the ground running!
The music, emotions, dreams, and relationshipsi hit me right in the kokoro. This cast keeps me crying, smiling, and head banging! Shoās hair is the most lustrous masterpiece. If I were in the band, thatās who Iād have a crush on. Heās so chill. Akane needs to meet a good guy her own age at the university she never attends. Naoki is out here mid-30s and āMarried to the Musicā like Shinee.š¤¦āāļø
Shuās energy in episode 7 is shifting the genre.š Iām starting to think he isnāt just a āplayfulā friend. He sounded quite serious talking about how he and Hikaru go way back, almost like he was marking his territory. Haruka was picking up on his attention and affection for Hikaru during her haircut.
Honestly, I find this drama would be more compelling if Hikaru was the protagonist. The plot is about Haruka, but it centers around Hikaru as the larger than life personality in her life. We know nothing about her beyond wanting to dress cute for a guy, meanwhile, Hikaru is a straight guy who dresses in drag, pursuing a career in fashion, and comes from a privileged family who doesnāt support his lifestyle. Thereās a lot to unpack about him. He has a solid backstory. Haruka is no different from the first episode except she went on a few dates. Her character growth is shallow. I just donāt think dumping a guy she idolized and agreeing to model in a fashion are strong enough.
What does the band manager actually do for TENBLANK but be bitter, negative, and stressed while dressing like G-Dragon?š Naoki is literally running everything. Iām glad Sho got her straight.š®āšØ
Akina is a sadist and a sociopath. What the club owner said rings true for establishments like host clubs. Itās a safe place for patrons to be their true rotten selves without regard for human decency. Akina is a dark figure who seeks pleasure in the humiliation and subjugation of others and views her victims as consenting because she pays handsomely for them to take her abuse.
I hope Koaru takes advantage of educating himself and leaves that host club. His mom is a whole scammer and needs to be cut off. Heās surrounded by parasites. FL is the only person who has his back. I hope to see more of them being a support to each other and living out their dreams.
Keisuke is really cute! I want to know about his life. His playful relationship with Tojo is sweet. That has to be the most laidback office in Japan.
Keishi is such a gentleman. He sets a pace with Tojo that slows things down in the appropriate areas where Tojo isnāt ready, but lightly pushes Tojo when he needs to be challenged. Keishi has been a huge factor in Tojoās growth from a 10-year rut. I hope Tojo gets to a point where he starts taking initiative and can be a support to Keishi as well. Although weāve seen him be cool and in control professionally, it would be nice to see that side of him romantically.
Sign me up for that cake-tasting date!š„° Japanese drama is the founding father of the ācozy boyfriendā vibe. I pray such men exist!
Other than that, the story ended just as I hoped. Thada and Armin will forever be a beloved couple.ā¤ļø I love how giant eyeglasses means ā40.āš¤£ Armin looked cute.
Iām a huge J-rock fan and love Sato Takeru and Machida Keita, so that alone pulled me in. Nobody plays eccentric characters better than Masaki Suda. Iām on episode 4, and I find the plot captivating. The songs played are the exact style of the Japanese bands I listen to, so my living room basically turns into the Budokan whenever I watch an episode. Toya is my favorite character! He and Over Chrome need a spinoff. Naoki is certainly the mad genius, and quite fascinating to watch swing from wonder to madness.
Iām hopeful this drama stays focused on the music, friendships, trials, and triumphs. It never works out when bandmates date, and itās disturbing when a mentor 20 years older becomes their juniorās s/o. Iām hopeful FL doesnāt date anyone in that band.š«
Kawahara-san struggling to park lives rent-free in my head.𤣠Heās a tragic mess.
It was really hard watching the rich auntie āpurchaseā Kaoru. They looked like a mom spoiling her son with a shopping trip while home from college for break. I felt sad for them both.
I love how excited FL gets about teaching Kaoru kanji. Their impromptu rooftop tutor sessions are sweet. The burdens lighten when they gather in purpose like this. Slowly, theyāre figuring out what they really want in life. I hope Kaoru gets to be a train conductor.
Iām obsessed with the twins! They were so cute and friendly. I hope we get to see them again.
As a literalist, Iām trying to understand how one outfit is changing a wardrobe.š I was expecting Tojo to have several bags of new clothes that he can mix into numerous outfits for many weekends to come. Are we going to see him in the same gray outfit every date? Is he buying his new wardrobe piecemeal style?š« I really wanted to see a full makeover. A new haircut and everything.
End of rant./ I appreciate how Tojo and Keishi talk things out and donāt leave anything up to misunderstandings. Their communication is fairly healthy, even if at times itās a bit delayed.
Keishi has studied Tojo. Itās one thing to admire someone, but to observe them so intently and learn them is devotion. Keishi knows Tojoās likes, dislikes, and proclivities more than Tojo!š„°
I keep saying it, but this drama is so wholesome. I need more romance dramas like this where the protagonist is safe and treasured.
FL is your typical āshoujoā character. Expressiveness and over the top reactions are the name of the game and come with the territory in this genre. I think sheās sweet. ML is my favorite though. I wish FL would update her full wardrobe with day-to-night looks for herself. Initially, thatās what she focused on, but somehow it became all about dressing for date nights with SML. Thatās one thing I find annoying. She needs her own identity and to love herself first.
I really donāt like that boy with the bowl cut. He refuses to mind his own business.

Isagi is truly bananas. He built a whole producing career on scamming for beats.š©

FLās fiancĆ© and father are both misogynistic relics. I find them both repulsive. I know itās not that kind of drama, but he fits the profile of a woman beater. His wife is addicted to mint leaves, inhaling and consuming them to calm down from the abuse. I bet she fantasizing about lacing his tea or him having a fatal heart attack. Heās abysmal. The double standards are disgusting. The fiancĆ© has a whole sidepiece and heās concerned about being cheated on?š Heās a doofus.
