Whispers of Fate Episode 9

The confrontation between Liu Yan and Tang Li Ci was a notable moment, but it lacked a certain intensity. Liu Yan came across more like a confused child, blaming others for his mistakes and misfortunes. Although he is the master of Fengliudian with many loyal subordinates, his face-off with his former friend revealed that he cannot be truly evil. His cruelty stems from his hatred for Tang Li Ci and his desire for revenge. I see him as a petty person who cannot accept what he has become due to his blind faith, as if to say, "I became the monster I am because of you! It's YOUR fault that I've turned into something so vile." In other words, he is a delusional hypocrite. Initially, he appeared to be someone straight out of 'The Arabian Nights' (as seen in Episode 2 attire), but later transformed into a two-faced physician who "treats" patients in times of dire need—a devil in disguise (Episode 12). I don't care; I just want to abduct him and toss him into the middle of the ocean or something. (≖_≖ 💢)

Feng Xi Yang's character development arc starts now, and I'm all in for her new characterisation! Girl got guts! Despite her annoying actions and choices she made in the earlier episodes, I couldn't help but feel pity for her when she wailed to go back home, to where her father and brother reside.. The guilt that crept up in her heart for defying her brother's warnings and betraying her father's trust; that scene, truly magnificent... "Don't cry. Don't cry," she uttered to herself while wiping away the tears that had already fallen. The resolution the princess made in front of that mirror wasn't a small cry; rather, it was an announcement. In that 'Mirror Room' she was kept, as if to reflect on her past decisions, Feng Xi Yang rose from the ashes, just like a phoenix with fiery determination, and icy-cold attitude.

Fellow Destinos~ How do you like today's episodes of [Fated Hearts]? It was fantastic for me! Yet another milestone to add to the various plot advancements as of episode 26. Despite the many sweet moments our main leads had, the most memorable scene-stealers for me are the father figures of the three great households of Susha: Feng, Zhuang and Murong. All these men ever wanted was to see their sons in their brightest and most successful eras, but somehow they went downhill. The character arcs of these 3 fathers are solid, and each has their valid reasons for why they've chosen to walk those paths... It's interesting how these supporting characters garnered much attention from the audience, in both positive and negative ways~

Our dear prince will have to suffer another round of painful betrayal by none other than his one and only friend, Murong Yao, after being followed by the tragic news of his father's terminal illness. From what we've seen, his sister has already betrayed him by siding with Xia Jing Shi. I just hope he finds his happiness soon...

As much as we've guessed, the masked villain is none other than Murong Yao, male lead's childhood friend whom he trusts conditionally. Feng Sui Ge would always say people close to him either betray him or leave him... The poor guy has always treated Murong Yao, his one and only friend A-Yao, as someone who's his equal. However, now that the truth has surfaced, our male lead will have to go through yet another painful experience of betrayal he'd always faced in the past...., digging into his old scars...

The roller coaster ride has set off to a new destination, Zhennan. With the ignorant, lovesick princess in tow, Xia Jing Shi was able to escape from the grasp of Susha's territory. How foolish the princess consort was. I can't even find the words to describe her anymore. It's exhausting to watch her trying to win over her love. How can she threaten her blood-related older brother by pointing a dagger at herself to negotiate!? I'm totally speechless! Despite all that, her brother let her go.... NOW onto the sweet scenes! They are so romantic! The way FSG held YX during the fireworks scene was so tender, and YX holding the clay figurine SG made for her was just like a mother protecting her child..😸 MOST IMPORTANTLY, the kiss!!! KYAAHHHH!!! Help! That was soooo hot!!! 😍❤🔥

After watching this episode, I realised the different types of familial bonds the characters have, especially between the fathers and their children. Firstly, the emperor and Feng Sui Ge. These two are always getting the wrong end of the stick whenever they meet, but deep down, I'm sure the father loves his son. Secondly, the emperor and the princess. In the emperor's eyes, Feng Xi Yang will always be the baby girl he's always loved and care for. Despite her ignorance and headstrong behaviour (which she's using it in the wrong way), the emperor father will never hate his only daughter, more so because she listens well to her elders. Lastly, we have a rare father-son relationship we don't usually see in historical C-dramas, especially in noble families. Murong Yao hurriedly approached his father who was soaking his feet in a medicinal water tub to carefully wipe his feet. It was endearing to watch such a close bond between a son and a father. Yao worrying and caring for his father's well-being and future was just like that of an innocent child who truly loves his parent~ These may not serve as a huge plot device for most, but somehow, seeing this warms my heart~ Wish to see more~ 🤗

This episode is filled with emotional scenes at every turn and made me tear up at certain scenes. One of them is the d8@th match between Yi Xiao and her former comrade Wei Ran. The latter has wronged her along with their master, for a certain mission which they see differently about its consequences. One side wanted to sacrifice while the other wanted to protect. Wei Ran was nothing more than a loyal subordinate, might I say, too loyal, for him to even betray his sworn family for the bigger picture his master decided to achieve. Yi Xiao got hurt trying to stop them and their delusional plan. Even after all that, Yi Xiao decided to let Wei Ran live, due to her remaining familial affection she had for him. That was her final mercy. Another scene which made me emotional yet again was when ML tried to comfort FL. Li Qin nailed it as the devastated Yi Xiao after learning the truth from WR. And lastly, that hurtful conversation between Feng Sui Ge and his younger sister. Wow, how could she even utter those words towards her brother like that? A sheltered princess who knows nothing about the outside world.. Feng Xi Yang will only understand when she actually faces hardships and the brutal reality herself. I can feel the hurt Feng Sui Ge felt when he heard his sister's harsh words. They pierced like sharp knives right through the heart...

This young princess of Susha is really blinded by love. However, that's how most young love starts. If only she knew the real hardships on the battlefield, and how much her older brother had to endure and go through to preserve his authority as the first prince. Duties aside, I'm glad the royal family is not that bad compared to other dramas. I wonder if there's a misunderstanding between the emperor and our prince? The current empress is pushing for her son (the 2nd prince) to take the throne, but it's a valid reason. Her family, the Zhuangs, doesn't seem entirely bad. From another pov, they look like they consider ML as a threat, but there seems to be other underlying reasons for it, apart from fighting for the throne. I can't see them as entirely bad at all, but we'll see. NOW ONTO THE EXCITING PART~ 🤩 Our drunk leads are as adorable as they can be! If you ask me how I'll describe them, FYX would be the unruly white rabbit, while FSG is the calculating black wolf 𓃥. Now why, Yi Xiao is a rabbit ₍ᐢ.̫.ᐢ₎✨ ? I'm referring to rabbits' aggressive behaviours when they're stressed are confined; they growl, they kick, and apparently, they bite~😝 Also, despite being a powerful person herself, she's still Sui Ge's 'prey'... On the other hand, our Killer God prince reminds me of a wolf leading and protecting his pack with everything he has, without being restrained by anyone, not even his emperor father. But Yi Xiao proved that he can somewhat be tamed..., by squishing his soft and bouncy cheeks~ 😂💞

Episode 8 was super nerve-wracking with Xu Yan's rival trying to blow her cover through a small mistake. Well, who would've thought things would turn out that way? Their superior just showed the photograph with pure intentions, but that Sun-something woman, the jealous 'green snake', had to throw dirt on our Yan'er. However, serves her right! Hope we don't see her in the future episodes anymore. She's super annoying, UGH!!! (ꐦ •᷄ࡇ•᷅)

The drama is feeding me with all the fight scenes just like how a wuxia genre should and my response is just, "Bring it on!! (╯✧∇✧)╯". Just how much effort did they put in to act out all those complicated scenes? Especially Cheng Yi. He used different fighting styles for each duel he faced, and they're all so remarkable~ My eyes have been blessed.. ʚ( ˘꒳˘ )ɞ✨

Yet again, the fight scenes are so high-quality! I love them so, so much!!! Ranking No.1 in the list would be "Crazy Yan vs. Qiu Shui's" duel at the podium! My gawwddd!!! That was such an epic moment! I could watch their duel scene over and over again!!! I'm at a loss of words in awe of the extraordinary action choreography displayed by all the casts. They are so well done~ No flaws at all! Kyaahhh!

Ooh~ THAT was some "chari-su-ma-ttic-kk"✨ entrance, sir.... Chen Zhou~ 😗💕 It's kinda fun watching Qiu Shui and the Power Gang's chief, Li Chen Zhou, checking each other out like, "oh wow, another handsome me, huh..? 😏✨". LOL just kidding, peeps~ 😝 They were actually having a "what the heck!?" moment. Now this is an unrelated matter. Some say Li Chen Zhou and Zhao Shi Rong doesn't look like a couple, but in my eyes they look exactly like an old married couple. Just look at how LCZ looks at ZSR affectionately whenever he speaks, and how the latter reciprocates with a soft smile. There's absolute understanding and trust towards one another. Their eyes and micro expressions speak thousands!✨( ⊙ 3 ⊙ )✨

Our Qiu Shui is back in action! It's so satisfying to watch him manipulate that Sword King only to pay him back for what the guy did to him before. Not only that, the fight scenes are marvellous! The 2-vs-1 duel between Qiu Shui, Sword King and Liu Sui Feng is one of the best duels yet! The Tang clan's competition is no less fierce, with Tang Fang and Tang Song going all out with their prowess. I'm glad the bad guys were rooted out in this episode. With the death of the Ghost King, the Sword King and the severe punishments towards the Tang clan's third branch, Qiu Shui should now be able to turn the tide to his side a bit. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, the subtle romance between our lovely Tang Fang and Qiu Shui is surely blossoming! 😍And it's a delight to watch their little interactions and gazes rather than the all-out romance. THIS is having chemistry! This fluttering feeling I get whenever I watch their little interactions in the recent episodes is all I need~

I think I'll need to borrow Liu Sui Feng's fan to slap the faces of Qiu Shui's two elder brothers, especially Yi Ren... ( ꐦ◜ᴗ◝) Why in the world are you blaming your brother for all the tragedies the family faced when things could've been prevented if you had listened to him just once!? (🔪。。)🔪 [That was the emotional side of me speaking. Now onto the more logical thinking...] From others' POVs, I do understand their anger towards our ML, due to the cause and effect. If Qiu Shui and his sworn brothers hadn't provoked the Power Gang in the first place, things wouldn't have ended the way they currently are. However, whether it was Xiao Ming Ming or Xiao Qiu Shui, either would have chosen the same path sooner or later because they don't look past any injustice before their eyes. Additionally, mistaking LSF for Feng Lang can't be helped. Even supposedly righteous sect leaders such as Qu Han Shan (a.k.a. "Sword King" of Power Gang) and Mo Yan Xia (a.k.a. White Guanyin or "White phoenix" of the Power Gang) were huge traitors to the Wulin world, who had never shown their true colours until Qiu Shui's involvement. One can be blinded by emotions at the moment of grief or anger, depending on the situation, which is totally understandable. However, it isn't right to blame every single misfortune on the younger sibling who's clearly also a victim, all the while denying the latter's repetitive warnings of forthcoming dangers. They should remember that it's not only them who lost their parents, but so did Qiu Shui. Our poor boy is now suffering both the guilt of letting in an enemy into their household, and the distress for his insufficiency in power to protect 'his people'. ૮ ◞ ﻌ ◟ ა
