So Fu Ling is Bai Shuo's sister and she killed their dad. She is so going to die. There is absolutely no way they will be able to spin this story and her evil actions into a redemption arc unless she dies to save Bai Shuo.
I liked all of them before watching this show but I'm gaining a newfound love for Dong Yeon. Such an amazing guy and I'm surprised he is the same age as Eun Woo. Eun Woo feels like a teenager to me while Dong Yeon seems super mature and independent. Je Hoon not knowing how to make scrambled eggs was super weird. Koreans and their health/skinniness obsession is insane to me because how do you work out 2.5 hours a day but you've never cooked anything?? But anyways this show definitely seems like a needed 'vacation' for them. Ps. what's up with the music? Are they going for comedy because I think I burst out scream-laughing at the Sherlock theme song.
This was honestly the best BL of 2024 and 2025. The story was interesting and consistent from start to finish. The time skip made sense and wasn't a ridiculous 12 years or something like that. I also appreciate the realism of the special episode although, as a viewer, it felt quite sad. I hope one day we get a j-bl where they get married, and it will be a realistic ending as well. I think I will remember this for a long time. Definitely one of the best japanese bls but also one of the best bls period.
I always love these kinda dramas when the guy falls for the girl even before knowing she's a girl XD Fr I can't wait for our slow king (prince) to find out the truth.
It seems that most people are happy in the comments but I found the last two episodes boring and cringe. I'm a little surprised that this had such an unenjoyable ending. I guess even 12 episodes were too much airtime for the plot they had.
Why the hell did they cast Top? His acting ruined this whole thing. It was distracting and I literally had to start skipping whenever they shoved his face. I get the need for a villain inside the games as well but at least get someone who can act?
Well... wow. I did not expect any of that. The pacing is so fast that my head hurts just thinking about what's gonna happen next but I like this. Very interesting.
I don't understand how this drama managed to lack depth while having such painful pasts for many of the characters. This was just utterly boring and cringe. Every character felt fake to the point that it was sometimes painful to watch. It felt like I could see the god damn script saying *smile while hiding your sadness*. It felt like most of the characters barely had any development other than a sudden "oh it's the last episode, time to fix everything without addressing any of the problems". It was definitely my fault thinking this drama would get any better.
I feel the need to continue this because I know others will disagree. Just because a character 'is a green flag' doesn't mean that they aren't also the most boring ass character to watch. Having empathy is not a superpower and I can't stress how boring it was to realize that this is just another kdrama making something normal into a really weirdly dramatic talent.
The drama version is still such a fresh wound in my heart that this movie felt significatly lighter in tone. This was pretty nice. Obviously great actors, both of them, and the story is a good one. I'm proud of Steve Noh for taking this role, he did great. The theater release will definitely gather a different audience than the drama, which is cool, I hope a lot of people see this. But overall, I do think the drama was brave and significant to a level that this movie simply cannot surpass. It was just way too groundbreaking and historical.
damn why didn't anyone tell me this was queer coded as hell? I would have watched this so much sooner. In all seriousness the chemistry is insane between multiple pairings. Great acting from every single character holy shit. Seriously one of the most impressive female lead drama I've seen. Very unique and incredibly engaging. The music is incredibly good as well. Jung Eun Chae surprised me a big time, she was so believable in this masculine role to the point that I completely forgot ever seeing her in any other role. I'm so impressed. I can definitely see the effort she put in this role. Obviously Tae Ri was amazing but I wasn't surprised. She has proved herself to be versatile in many projects. Only complaint I have is that I wish this had been longer. Ju Ran's ending was also miserable. Realistic but very sad. I wish we had seen a bit more after the last performance and it seems that some plot holes remain due to lack of time. I would say this was more on the obvious side of queer coded dramas, if you have eyes and ears, this was very gay.
Ive seen Im Ji Yeon's in this kind of roles and also the Glory role was cringe at first to me but now I know she…
I thought the Glory fit her perfectly :'D she had the perfect crazy eyes which tbh bothered the heck out of me in the first few minutes of this dramas as well. But she seems pretty good since I fast got so invested that I got over the initial repulsion
These first two episodes were honestly hella cool. I do agree that Im Ji Yeon's "innocent and happy country girl" -act was cringe at best but to be fair she is much more convincing as a traumatized noble lady with secrets. I'd say this drama is so far very intriguing to watch and the setting is cool. I'm a little weirded out with the ml having an identical twin reveal, the way the scenes were filmed was odd at best and I'm confused whether the twin was knowingly there to see him or if he had no idea their faces are identical... you know lack of mirrors and shit. I guess we find out next week, though I genuinely think there was already quite a lot of plot to handle even without an identical twin but oh well. We will see.
ngl the ending was a bit disappointing and overall this drama could have been improved by slight changes in script BUT of course I'm happy they were able to release this whole drama in the first place. Very happy actually. Hope other chinese companies use this method in the future for the dramas they won't be able to release in china.
l hope he isn't because it would be insane.
It's probably wheelchair guy
