Threatening someone about a crush? Or about their sexuality? That's a trash move. I don't care about your past, your trauma, whatever sob story you have to share. Nothing justifies such behavior.
I have a stupid question, so sorry ….How do we know they didn’t use a condom? I mean ml seems very very organize,…
Yup. In the novel they get married immediately and a bit later start being intimate. She gets a pregnancy scare. Goes browsing online for abortion clinics, in a panic. Those clinics somehow have a way of tracking who visits their sites (WTH China??) and start calling her phone number. The office and ML overhear one of those calls. She runs out. He follows and asks her what's happening, why she would do this, especially without talking to him first. She responds that she didn't actually decide anything, just looking at her options, but it'd be bad for her to have a baby right now bc she's working hard to obtain a permenant position at the bank and having a pregnancy and baby would ruin that for her. Before they can resolve things the FL gets a call from her bestie that the bestie broke up with her BF and is hysterical. So she "escapes" from Yuheng and runs to comfort her bestie. She ends up staying at the bestie's house for several days (while avoiding the ML). During that time she confirms that she's not actually pregnant, it was a false alarm. She softens towards the ML and wants to apologize to him and go home. Before she can, her mom calls in a panic that Dad is in the hospital for a surgery. She runs to the hospital where things are out of control and she immediately calls the ML without thinking about it. He comes running to her and helps them navigate everything. He's their rock. Ultimately dad is fine and discharged. FL comes to the conclusion that despite her insecurities of not being good enough for him, of him not loving her and only being with her out of convenience, he's an amazing man and she will love him whole hartedly. I don't think they actually talk out the pregnany issue. She just makes an improved effort to shower him with love and attention and stops putting up barriers between them. It's a turning point in their relationship that brings them closer. After a while she ends up telling him that she loves him and the ML responds that he's actually loved her much longer, way back in school.
OK, I don't get it... based on the flashbacks, she was an optimistic girl when she was in high school. She has…
The novel explains it better. In an nutshell, she was middle of the pack in high school and university. Not bad, but extremely average in academics and looks.
When she graduated college, her first job didn't work out. She was there for years with little advacement. She left that job and transfered to the bank job where, agian, she's been working hard with little reward to show for it. She can't seem to prove herself or advance.
To top it all off, her longtime boyfriend, who is a respected doctor, abandoned her for his career, basically illustrating that she isn't worthy of staying for or fighting for.
This is when we meet her at the start of the show.
She's had some major setbacks. Although she's never been outstanding, at least she's been average. With the setbacks she's faced, she's beginning to doubt even that, though she hasn't given up the fight to improve her lot.
A woman with this mindset is suddenly approached by the epitome of manhood, who aks her to marry him. He's alwasy been at the top. In school, at work, both smarts and looks. He's the cream of the crop. Anyone would want him. He has his pick of woman. Yet he chooses her, miss seemingly below average. She's severly lacking in self confidence. And is convinced that he only chose her bc he needed an immediate marriage to make his sick mom happy.
That part in the novel was really sweet. I hope they keep at least part of it for the show. It made me laugh and…
The blind date and most of the opening is new to the show. So, unfortunately, I can't provide any answers.
In the novel they met again for the first time as adults by bumping into each other in the elevator at work, then they met again at the wedding of a mutual high school classmate.

I have :) In the novel they get married right away. The show is delaying it--a new aspect, which diverges from the novel. So we can only speculate. The characters said they'll wait a year. But I a feeling that it'll happen sooner.
Sahashi is supposed to be this beautiful model, while in actuality Okuno is much more good-looking than Toyoda?

She's badass and adorable at the same time.
I need her to be my new bestie.
It was a general comment about ppl outright cursing and degrading all females IRL (not you) or cursing other commenters on MDL (again, not you).
You're good <3

I share your frustration. Heading into "fed up" territory at this point.
