Nice!! I always got the feeling ppl were sleeping on “perfect and casual”. I’m so glad to see it appreciated. It was a fantastic show! It’s on my rewatch list too :))
On a side note, seeing some of these comments, do you get the feeling that the average age of this show's viewers…
OMG female empowement just gave me a bad flashback to "Doctor Cha", a korean drama. That was the absolute worst.
I love a strong FL but why they decided that "strong" means "alone" or "illogical" is beyond me. They absolutely have no idea how to portray a true strong woman imo.
Oh, sure, because criticizing a character who just so happens to be female is automatically misogyny, while critiquing…
I've seen ML's retaliate by trying to make the FL jealous but never to the extent of going out with someone else, and also they've always been young, like highschool or university romances. You're correct that the FL interacting with another man (for whatever reason) is much more common.
Personally, I hate it. Some of these tropes are enough to do your head in.
What is really driving me nuts in this case is that they are all adults. While I still don't like (or condone) this behavior in teenage romances it at least is excused due to age and lack of life experiece. In an adult? This has no place whatsoever and should be strongly condemned. I am so mad at the writers. Their entire relationship is a mess.

GAH!!!! I hope you're wrong about your show predictions. I am *this* close to tossing my phone. Dang it!! I was so freaking happy for this show to air!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's try flipping the script.
The ML sees the FL on a business dinner with a perceived rival. Without asking any questions he then proceeds to attend a blind date with a different woman in full sight of the FL. If you don't agree that the entire comment section would be screaming "toxic"at this point then you're in denial.
As a woman, I detest seeing my own kind depicted as immature, driven by emotion, nonsensical. She is 27 years old! She committed to a long-term marriage-like relationship. Yet she does not communicate, constantly plays one -upsmanship, and consistently "retaliates" whenever she decides that he hurt her or did something wrong. This is peak toxic behavior and there is nothing wrong with calling it like it is.
Her picture is in the dictionary under "petty" and "immature".
This one certainly does! She should be held accountable for her age and her actions. And the ML is definitely not standing up for himself. He's putting up with a lot and I feel bad for him, honestly.
In a way, they show why he fell for her in high school. It was becasue she was kind and happy/vivacius. He's holding on to that, despite the fact that today she is nothing at all like that anymore-at least not with him. It's sad.
Regarding Miles, I feel your pain, believe me. He deserves a better script! My favorite if his is "perfect and casual" where the FL was adorable. They did have some misunderstandings but it didn't last too long and for the most part she was very mature and sensible, despite only being a university student.
PREACH!!!!She basically saw him at a business dinner with a group of people which included the SFL who happens…
I hate to say you're right but...yeah. I'm sad. Honestly sad. I started reading the novel about six months ago. Followed along the updates. Ended up paying for the advanced chapters. Was really hooked. I'd seriously check the page multiple times a day for updates. The ending was lovely. When I saw they're making it into a show, and that Miles (whom I really like) was the ML, I was so happy. Now this...The show is seriouly breaking my heart.

These tropes are peak teenage drama. Which is insane, because the characters are in their high 20's. The jealousy, the one-upmanship, the fish kisses, all of it... Honestly, if they were going to do it this way then change the setting to a high school or university. If they chose to keep the setting then make the characters act their age!
Also, if the genders were reversed, and the ML saw the FL on a business dinner with a perceived rival and in retaliation chose to go on a blind date with a different woman then the entire comment section would be shouting "toxic!!" at the top of their lungs...
We had two episodes of "character development" for what, seriously FL has started to get on my nerves. She brought…
On a side note, seeing some of these comments, do you get the feeling that the average age of this show's viewers is 12? Because I'm feeling in the minority for asking the FL to freaking behave her age, as if I'm an oldtime granny or something . *Bangs head on table*.

PREACH!!!!
She basically saw him at a business dinner with a group of people which included the SFL who happens to be his colleague FFS and she decided to go on a freaking DATE in retaliation.
There is ZERO excuse for this.
I'm beyond done with this woman.
BTW, in the novel she gets into a mess because Zhao is determined to set her up with a boyfriend and she can't come out and say that she's in a relationship because it's a secret. So him setting her up on a blind date is a running gag. However, she never says yes!! When Zhao gives some guy the FL's wechat (without the FL's persmission) she starts getting texts from that dude. She only replies bc Zhao pressures her into it and she plainly tells that guy that SHE IS NOT INTERESTED. When the guy doens't take a hint, the ML handles it and shuts that guy down permenatly. In the novel though, at no point does she entertain anyone else (nor does the ML). Why on earth the show is changing this aspect and outright making her cheat, besides making her immature and petty, I do not know and simply cannot comprehend. I am so far past pissed that it's not even funny. I hate how this is developing.

Nah she reverts to type. Doesn't communicate, pulls petty stunts to "retaliate" when she gets hurt by something he does without bothering to ask questions or work to understand his reasons. Just petty and immature, like I said. Why and how he still likes her and puts up with her is beyond me.

Thank you <3
