It looks like they break up in episode 31 so they will probably get back together by 34-35. They have a some story…
interesting. in the novel them getting together, the spinal surgery lady's story, and the breakup happen pretty fast one after the other. then there's the inbetween when she resigns, the company merges, Boston, etc. they get back together, she gets kidnapped, the radiation scandal, his surgery, recovery, then it's pretty much extras. if we're up to ep 25 and they won't break up until 31 then take until 34 or later to get back together? I wonder how they're going to draw things out.
If I'm calculating correctly, we're more than halfway through the novel atp but still up to ep 25. What on earth can they fit into 40 eps? I can see an end at ep 30 or max 35--if you stretch things out. Thoughts?
I like how they Change JX talking style to HT before even proposing. She already accepted him as her BF. she used…
after sleeping together she lost conficence that he really wants to be with her and twisted herself into knots convincing herself it was only a one-night stand to him.
then he walked her home and asked her why she's avoiding him and pressed her about how she sees their relationship. before the roommate interrupted it was obvious that he wanted something more from her- bc you don't talk to a one-night stand about feelings and relationship definitions.
then he got her away from the protest mob and took her home to take care of her, bandaged her finger, cooked food for her. that was the final indication for her that he is serious about being with her.
the verbal confirmation clinched it but it was already understood between them based on actions that could not be explained away.
when he said "do you want to try it?" it can be understood that he meant "do you want to try being in a romantic relationship with me?" she said "yes", he teased her, then he point blank asked her "do you want to be my girlfriend?"
Agree. The part where she cries in the car, though. If I remember right, the novel JX handled it a bit better.
Yes. The writing is done very well, integrating details and entire dialogues from the novel in a story that keeps the spirit of the book but alters it beautifully for tv. It's interesting though, that while the tv JX is indeed more resilient and mature in a sense, the novel JX handled this particular crisis better.
I've seen leads with strong chemistry before (for example: OFL Bai Lu and Dylan Wang, and YAMG Yang Yang and Dilraba come to mind). Generally, the chemistry is conveyed via tension without/before physical touch or crazy intense bedroom kisses.
These two though, JX and HT, unlock a new dimension. Slow, individualized kisses that aren't yank-your-clothes-off fire, yet have an intense heat that can level entire city blocks. It's almost like a slow burn or something. I can't recall ever seeing anything like it. And it's all shot so wonderfully too.
The part where the roommate opens the door when HT and JX are talking about their relationship status...I am sick and tired of the "nosy and/or interrupting friend" trope.
Very few ppl, especially friends who know each other, have such bad social skills. Most ppl can tell when they walk into a charged situation and then gracefully back the hell out.
It is dumb, lazy, and not-true-to-life writing to constantly have friends nosing in, or interrupting important moments between leads.
Ithe hero and heroine finally had sex! I love watching their lips stick together when they kiss, it feels so inseparable~…
im mad at censorship bc remember in the novel the second time they made a bet? and she purposely tells him, "if i lose i'll give you what you want" with the same play on words? ....yeah. the part that comes after that... i'm betting they cut that scene but dang do i wanna see it!!!🙈
I really like Xu Kai, and i really wanted to watch this drama but.. I just can't stand the actress, she looks…
she's not a conventional beauty. she's more cute than pretty, but she is definitely cute. and she acts really well, making her endearing. one thing tho, they did her dirty with that hairstyle. with longer hair she'd have had a little something extra. im mad at them for that.
xu kai is off the charts beautiful. han ting in the novel is very handsome, so that matches well. don't remember how jx's looks were described in the novel.

really a mix of emotions didn't seee it coming.
but if they include the daughter I will (censored) them!!!! :((
