And if you are wondering why Pat (and Pran) were willing to speak up so openly about their relationship to the…
Also, they had already stopped actively trying to hide their relationship at that point, so there was no need to hide it outside their family. The reunion thing where they pretended not to know each other felt more like roleplaying, plus the kerfuffle with Pat going to the wrong airport to pick up Pran, which had made Pran salty. 😛

I'm glad you liked it! Fully agreed that scenes like this should focus on the emotions of the characters, not positions/roles. And clearly Aof agrees with us.

I'm thinking along the same line as you in your comments here. Pran has had a mental block preventing him from taking that step in their relationship, but he was finally able to put all of it behind him and just act on his feelings like he had always wanted to.

Pran's OCD and mental health problems have actually turned out to be way more of an issue by the end of this story than they were previously made out to be (mostly it was played for laughs). So when I see comments saying "two healthy boys wouldn't be living in the same room for so long without doing anything", I know those commenters didn't "get" neither Pran's character and how much his personal issues controls his ability to live his life the way he wants to, nor Pat and Pran's very particular relationship dynamics.

Pat has been wanting to take this step in their relationship for a long time and has been patiently waiting for Pran to feel ready without actually pushing him. Pran probably wanted too, but couldn't really act on it yet as he wasn't mentally ready for it. And while Pat has been a saint, he's still a teenage boy madly in love, so he's been using innuendo and jokes to breach the topic from time to time, feeling out how Pran feels about it. Pat getting horny and climbing on top of Pran in episode 8 (I think?) was probably the closest he ever got to actually trying to make it happen. Pat joking about "pounding" and so on is just the way he talks imo, since he's boisterous and even coarse at times.

So I'm 100 % convinced that scene in episode 11 was their first time, and it was only made possible by Pran finally being able to focus only on the two of them and act on his heart and his urges. Pat naturally let Pran chose whatever position he felt most comfortable with, as I had been expecting.

K but seriously tho, is it just me who isn't completely obsessed with firstfluke yet? Its like all over Twitter…
I'm with you, not feeling Yok/Dan at all despite being a fan of First. Dan's actor is too flat for me, though he seems a bit better in this role than the one he played previously in Dark Blue Kiss. I was honestly a bit surprised to see so much enthusiasm for this couple, because I'm trying to see what others see and there's just nothing there at all so far.

Sean and White on the other hand though, wow, sparks were flying through the air from the moment they first laid eyes on each other in the first episode. I'm getting increasingly invested in them, despite not feeling the Off/Gun pairing in ToL. Off as Sean has been great so far. Off has found a perfect balance of inner pensiveness underneath a hard outer shell for Sean, which keeps the tension up as White can't really get a read the guy but keeps being drawn to him. I guess Off just needed to find the right role for his potential as an actor to suddenly bloom like this! He's definitely put in the work for this role as well, as he seems so physically transformed into Sean, with his manner and way of holding his body, etc. And Gun is always good imo, Not Me being no exception.

Ugh... I just came from twitter searching new info about badbuddy, but i found bad rumour instead, why cant people…
I noticed this happening on Twitter. Hopefully it won't spin too much out of control. Both Ohm and Nanon are apparently on holiday after working together a lot since the hype surrounding BB took off and are not quite as active on social media as usual, so the rumour mill started churning when fans ran out of content. I wish the fandom would get used to not being bombarded with pictures etc every single day. The actors have the right to relax and have fun outside of work so they don't burn out. Hopefully the actors and their managers have a contingency plan for how to handle backlash in case this thing boils over. I'd hate to see the show and/or OhmNanon's working relationship hurt before the show's even finished airing. I think it's ok that the fans ship the guys for fun and because they look cute together, but there needs to be some kind of acknowledgement that it is a performance and that they make money doing so – even if they also enjoy hanging out as they clearly do.

What if Pran stands in for the actor who plays Kwan in the end -- whilst they were in the midst of an unresolved…
100 % sure that's how they'll play off that particular storyline. As Jose mentioned, they didn't even bother showing the original cast member. 😂 I'm also more or less expecting their parents to do a repeat of the ill-fated Christmas concert from Pat and Pran's high school years, by showing up and going all Pikachu face as they see Pat and Pran playing lovers on stage. PS. Just speculating, NO BOOK SPOILERS PLS!

Thank you for the comprehensive list! It seems that Ohm's win for Dew the Movie is the most impressive as you say. I guess I should see that one next as I make my way through Ohm and Nanon's respective backlists. I guess when you're editing a whole sequence together you have to consider different aspects of which shot works best than when you make the credit scenes. The previews often use different versions of the same scene, like how the rooftop scene used a version where Pat and Pran didn't cry, then used the teary ones in the version we got to see in the actual episode. I kind of like how we get a sneak peak of the different takes on these scenes!

I have a question for those of you who with insight in Thai acting awards and such:

Which awards do you think Ohm, Nanon and Bad Buddy could be up for? I'm thinking mostly about awards that aren't tied to GMMTV themselves, since internal awards like that mostly feels like something used for PR or to award those who generate the most income (like Tencent Awards).

I know Bad Buddy is nominated in some kind of WeTV thing, but other than that I know more or less nothing.

I was a little bit on the fence after the initial episode, but after the second episode I'm fully on board and looking forward to the next one! The cinematography is excellent, Gun and Off have brought their A game, Mond whom I've never watched before is a nice surprise and First seems to have an interesting storyline ahead of him. I'm loving the political nature of the story and the messy nature of the relationships portrayed. While Black and White's "magical twin connection" is a bit cliché, it can be viewed as an allegory for their uprooted relationship, which makes it work for me. I'm particularly looking forward to White learning more about his brother and how their lives have differed.

Title Not Me
[Not me] Review of the first episode. I was impressed by the first episode of Not Me. The surprise, however, has…
"It's a great sign that they have so many directors from the LGBTQIA+ community running BL series. We have Aof in Bad Buddy, Boss in I told Sunset about you and now trans director Anucha in Not me. It is noticeable in the work of these directors the concern to portray the LGBTQIA+ in a more realistic and respectful way. The BL market can only gain from them."

Thank you for your thoughtful review! I agree with and enjoyed reading your entire comment, in particularly the part that I cited above. BL as a genre has so much potential beyond the stereotype of "straight women writing queer stories for other straight women". We have Aof who clearly loves BL and has found a way to integrate the best BL clichés with a LGBTQ+ story grounded in realism, Boss who tells poetic and delicate queer stories with a skill that matches the top storytellers in the world and Anucha who tells political stories with layers and symbolism (judging by Malila and Not Me – will definitely check out the rest of her work).

To me, being a good director also means finding the right team in order to tell your stories, and all these three directors seem like a great example of that. Aof and his team can still grow – there's some stuff here and there that can still be improved – but Bad Buddy shows a lot of growth and inspiration on their behalf. Boss and his team seems like the most polished team out of the three, since ITSAY was pitch perfect imo. Anucha and her team seem to use an interesting mix of experimental and traditional visual storytelling techniques (for Not Me at least), which I enjoy.

About Not Me, I agree that the first episode was a bit too fast paced, as they clearly tried to get into the meat of the story as quickly as possible. I would have loved to see a bit more time spent on White's choice to infiltrate Black's gang.

I think this is the first time I've watched Mond, and I have to say I'm quite impressed! He's got a lot of charisma and that certain presence that makes you take notice of him when he's in a scene. I'll be sure to check out some of his past work.

It was definitely the sound guy who snitched imo. He and Pran both overheard the others gossip about Pat and took up their phones to check Pat's hashtag at the same time, so they both had the sound from the stage microphone connected to their earphones. He probably messaged Wai when he heard the fight after Pran ran down to argue with Pat, which would give Wai enough time to come to the sound booth just in time to overhear their conversation after Pat's rehearsal.

I mean, it could also be Wai deciding to check up on the rehearsal, but after he quit he showed zero interest in the play, so I doubt it.
