Cant stop laughing........... I just saw a video on youtube about this series and i was like, i HAVE to watch…
I just finished watching it, honestly you should give it a try anyway! I also opted out of watching it before, then recently was convinced to try again and omg it's such a wild ride! I even knew about the ending and still loved it. :)
Nice to see a fellow Pat explainer! :D A lot of people seem to miss the nuance of his character, which is not…
I think people will come around to Pat and understand him better once the story starts showing more of his perspective. It's so focused on Pran right now. I think P'Aof is deliberately making Pat a bit difficult to understand, so that some scenes will make more sense later, when there's more context to explain how he thinks and feels. :)
A few observations regarding episode 4It turns out that, not only was Pat oblivious of Pran's feelings, but he…
Nice to see a fellow Pat explainer! :D A lot of people seem to miss the nuance of his character, which is not surprising since he appears to be so simple at a quick glance and it's easy to dismiss him. But there's a lot of layers to Pat as a character, and Ohm has got that "rough demeanour hiding a heart of solid gold" down to a T.
I agree completely with Pat having had a heteronormative upbringing. His dad has brought up hitting on girls several times. So when he hangs around Pran, he visibly feels good about it. But he doesn't realise yet that he's in love, so he thinks it's friendship. And when he saw Pran with Ink, he got jealous. But Pran's his friend! That leaves only Ink as the reason why he felt like that, so he thinks he has a thing for her.
As to why Pat might seem to some like he's stringing Pran along, I think of him as a guy who does things on sheer instinct. He’s good at thinking on his feet, as we’ve seen during the bus stop presentation and when he and Pran had to wrangle their friends. He’s the spur of the moment guy, who decides things with his gut feeling and does whatever he feels like. He doesn’t usually question his feelings or reactions.
Pran on the other hand is a typical over thinker, who weighs the pros and cons in his mind for seemingly forever before making a decision. He’s incredibly structured, the kind of person who makes lists of things to do, and then crosses them off one by one. The fact that he went out on a limb and asked both Ink and Pat what they felt about the other – a highly risky thing for a person like Pran – shows how strong his feelings for Pat are. And now that risk got him really, really hurt, so I expect him to retreat back into his shell again.
Funny how Pat said he likes Ink but then explained to Pran why he should like him. Almost like he was trying to…
He he, people like Pat definitely exists... You could yell at them that you love them with all your heart, and they'd be like: "...You mean as a friend...?" :D
I almost forgot that this drama was made! It's not as good as the manga, so I recommend checking that one out instead if you can. But it's still a nice slice of life/comedy. I can't remember if the BL-friendly stuff from the manga made it into the drama, but the drama has a kind of running joke about two of the guys kind of seeming like a couple with so much chemistry, even though they constantly deny this when asked by the rest of the students. It's not really used as queer baiting, it's more like a knowing wink from the author to the fujoshi reading/watching. :)
It's kinda amazing how the writers actually managed to use all the conflict to advance character dynamics and…
I agree, and you can sort of feel that these characters might actually enjoy hanging out if they get over the whole fake "architects vs engineers" rivalry bs. I bet having a mutual project might make some of them realise that they have more things in common than not.
Top and bottom is actually something that does exist in male-male homosexual relationships. Versatility is of…
Agreed, the stereotyping is the real problem. There's a few ugly stereotypes that I really, really want banished from BL, like for example how often in BL only the top get to be proactive in both making the relationship happen as well as initiating intimate encounters. And the whole sexist thing with calling the bottom the "wifey".
But honestly I would like to see the fandom stop being so fascinated by who penetrates whom. The intensity of some fans' fascination with this feels so juvenile.
Ohm was so good! In the first two episodes I felt like Nanon (who I hadn't seen before) was acting circles around…
He's Coming To Me is one of my favourite Thai BL's! Loved Ohm in that (it was my first time seeing him act), and he truly carried the whole drama on his shoulders. Might have to rewatch it soon.
Because Pat still hasn't come to terms with his feelings for Pran. Pat knows he has very intense feelings for…
Definitely this! Pat's a "doer" who reacts instinctively and immediately acts on his impulses, while Pran's a "thinker" who mulls things over for a looong time before carefully acting. That's why Pran looks a bit wary sometimes during this episode imo; he's obviously super flattered and affected by Pat's sudden intense attention and probably realises that Pat's full on flirting with him, but at the same time he's noticing how Pat always acts like it's just a joke to him. Poor Pran doesn't know what to believe... My heart!
Pat is somewhat of a mess but boyyy if doesn't he know how to flirt
For sure! He really doesn't hold back! I though he was going all out when he mistook Pran's handwriting for a girl's, but compared to him in this episode that was nothing!
It's so good. Maybe the best BL of all time. All the cuteness and flirting, and Ohm in muscle shirts, and super-good…
But if you watch it you get to hang out with the rest of us in the comments agonising over the wait between episodes and longing for each week to be over and turn into friday… ;)
This isn't the best BL of all time, but it's certainly one of the most enjoyable. Finally, we have equally able…
I agree! It's not good in the same way as, say, I Told Sunset About You, a show which wouldn't be out of place at a fancy film festival imo. But within the romantic comedy/dramedy genre it's so far been heads and shoulders above the rest imo.
It's like all the pieces of the puzzle finally came together: * A director with a strong vision * A good writing team * TWO talented actors with a lot of previous acting experience * Who also know each other and lack the stiff awkwardness of most BL couples * And a story that somehow manages to be both romantic, silly, sweet, embarrassing and poignant with enough of a hint of brewing trouble on the horizon to keep the tension up!
I can't even describe how…happy I felt as I looked at the time today and realised that it was just 3 hours left until episode 4 would air. This show and Ohm + Nanon just puts me in such a good mood, somehow!

Well said! I'm very tempted to watch their previous non-BL series as well once Bad Buddy wraps up. It must have been such a treat for them to play together in a story so completely focused on their respective characters.
I heard it is bromance only. So disappointed !!! :(
I don't know anything about the various other dramas, but the original manga is more or less bromance only…until you get to the unofficial continuation that the manga author published as fanzines, which is very gay and VERY explicit. The manga author specialises in both BL and regular ladies comics, and Antique Bakery (the official version) is the latter.
