I loved 'Ripe Town' it was a unique chinese drama for me, it kept many of us guessing almost till the end.
I watched first few episodes of the drama 'Ancient Detective' some time ago but didn't finish it then.. It's too similar to Agatha Christie's - And then there were none, novel... I will pick it up one of these days again to finish it.

But this scene reminded me of the confusion in the drama 'Love and redemption' where the character of xuanji also interpreted the word 'like' as general affection.
Now that I have thought of that scence, I feel the character of Tianhe is somehow similar to the character of xuanji.. Both are a little naive and very very powerful. Also their powers get activated whenever someone dear to them is in danger.
I am also appreciating Ju Jingyi's portrayal of Lingsha. As Ling sha she is captivating and engrossing... Acting appropriately to bring out the conflicting emotions in her character.
Han Lingsha is born in a family of tomb robbers. She is master of geomantic, omens and construct mechanisms. She is kind and clever, and sometimes robs the rich to help the poor. She is always looking for an elixir that can lead to longevity or eternal life, so that she can end the curse of her family's premature deaths.
As Han Lingsha's family is cursed to die early, she is always trying to find ways to extend her life.. So her behaviour and motivation in the beginning of the series makes sense

I believe, the FL, JiuLing's brother was present during the ceremony... But from other dramas that I have watched, if the couple bows in four directions without any witnesses and ask their ancestors or nature to witness their vows, it is still a valid ceremony (at least in dramas)
I am excited for this drama, it will showcase strong bond of family as well as individual talent of five sisters and their love matches.
