They may be 'brothers' in the eyes of society because their parents are cohabiting......but legally as the parents haven't solemnised the vows, they would be considered as children whose parents are cohabiting or friends. (The laws are different in all countries regarding rights of people in a relationship)
Wow! Such beautiful lines of thoughts! So impressive and detailed insights on writing a drama review! You're so…
Thank for stopping by and leaving such nice words of appreciation for the review.
This was the series that made me join MDL, it was the first series for which I wrote comments then review, so it will always hold a very special place in my heart.
The series is not flawless but inspite of the flaws it managed to capture my attention.
If 'Actions speak louder than words' then we can clearly see that with this episode, the walls between Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian have been destroyed.
I thank the director for choosing the actors who are capable of portraying their emotions with their eyes. 'Eyes are the windows of your soul and eyes will reveal what the words hide'. This series, quite fabulously manages to accomplish the part of conveying the emotions of the characters nonverbally.
So even though on the surface and to everyone else around them, the things that they do for each other seem inconsequential and mundane, the actors manage to convey the hearts of their characters so well with their eyes-lines delivery that they draw the viewers into their inner thoughts and make the viewers experience each nuance of the characters' feelings.
From the very beginning of the series it was evident that Jiang Tian felt the romantic undercurrent between them. The intense, attentive, observant manner in which Jiang Tian's gaze followed Sheng Wang, exposed his heart in front of the viewers. Sheng Wang, the seemingly more oblivious one has now started noticing the special way in which Jiang Tian cares for him and the way he looks at Jiang Tian when Jiang Tian casually does something thoughtful for him has changed significantly since the end of episode 9.
I am quite curious as to how the series will address their verbal confession because putting words to your feelings is quite risky, especially if you are good friends. With the spoilers that hint at Jiang Tian's past, I am looking forward to watching how the series will tackle the transition from nonverbal looks and gestures to verbal acknowledgement of the change in their relationship from friends to lovers.
History Lesson for the day in episode 10 was breaking down walls. Are the walls breaking down to allow Love to…
* When class teacher asked how would She g Wang climbs the stairs in the classroom and dorm? Would someone carry him? Sheng Wang automatically looked at Jiang Tian.
* Sheng Wang is missing Jiang Tian at his own house, his house is not lonely.
*Jiang Tian prefers to stay indoors even when the power is off just so he can make notes for Sheng Wang. (Always love a person who makes notes for you while there is powercut, anyone can get you flowers or chocolates 😝)
* Jiang Tian gets a steady stream of messages from Sheng Wang but is a little put off when Sheng Wang doesn't read or reply to his last message.
* As soon as Sheng Wang messages that he is waiting for Jiang Tian to return so that he can accompany him back to dorm, Jiang Tian runs out at full speed to catch up to him.
* For the first time, I felt Sheng Wang was becoming more aware of the romantic undercurrent between them but somehow Jiang Tian though very concerned and caring was hesitating.
* Jiang Tian ensures that Sheng Wang has proper meals so he gets the meals from xi ge's cafe specially for Sheng Wang who is a picky eater ( now that's true love😉)
* Jiang Tian and Sheng Wang share the same bunk in a dorm, She g Wang saying he sleeps more comfortably when Jiang Tian is sharing his bed....while Jiang Tian is definitely more sensitive to issue of sharing a bed.
Well the walls have been truly broken and heart is invaded, Will love spread in the invaded territory?
I also think that the end comes with the confession of their mutual feelings. I can still hear the words of the…
I also hope there will be a season 2 with same actors reprising their roles.
I feel the narrative of the story has been slowed down in this week's both the episodes to enable them to end the season 1 on a hopeful note in case they don't get season 2.
This episode showed so much progression between the boys. My heart is so full 😭 Sheng Wang saw the couple kiss…
I felt Sheng Wang was more aware about his changing feelings in this episode compared to Jiang Tian who seemed to be hesitating in taking the next step forward.
This episode also resolved some privacy issues that had worried many other fellow watchers.
The other two students occupying the same dorm room with Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian have left the dorm room to enjoy the short vacation at their home ... leaving door open for plenty of alone time for our protagonists to bond.
My speculation based on the way the story is progressing and having read many spoilers about the original novel, is that this season might end on the note of confession...The season will end when they realise their feelings and confess to each other....so people who haven't read the novel and haven't heard of any spoilers may get a semi happy ending.
A few points in Ep 10- Qi Jia Hao not dead. HAIYA, see his face make me TSK TSK- A passerby walked past a scene…
I was one of the people who felt there may be some attraction from Shi Yu's side for Sheng Wang based on their first conversation in the dorm...well there goes that feeling out of the window.
***Through two incidents, we witness different dynamics of the relationship between Sheng Wang and Jiang Tian.***
When Sheng Wang cajols, coaxes and calls him "ge" all the while pouting, to convince Jiang Tian to wear the sports T-shirt with embarrassing letters printed on, Jiang Tian surrenders, he agrees to put on the T-shirt to make Sheng Wang happy. Sheng Wang sports a smug smile because, he knows he would always get his way with Jiang Tian by pleading. (Sheng Wang 1 : Jiang Tian 0)
Second incident, when Sheng Wang hurts his foot after the last round of Long Jump, Jiang Tian notices his wince when Jiang Tian is tying their legs together for a three legged race. Jiang Tian immediately calls a halt and asks permission from the teachers to take Sheng Wang to a health centre. Jiang Tian instructs Sheng Wang to get on his back so he could carry Sheng Wang piggyback style. With so many people watching, Sheng Wang is embarrassed to get on Jiang Tian's back, he squirms and tries to make excuses. Jiang Tian doesn't heed and repeatedly asks Sheng Wang to "get on" his back in a protective authoritative manner till Sheng Wang climbs onto his back so that Jiang Tian can carry him to the clinic. (Jiang Tian 1: Sheng Wang 0)
Both these incidents highlight their relationship dynamics, Jiang Tian will fold and give in to Sheng Wang's persuasions in all instances except when it comes to Sheng Wang's well being, then Jiang Tian wouldn't be swayed by anything.
An interesting fact is that Each of them is aware of their strengths and weaknesses where the other is concerned.
I guess it was more figuratively used that Qi Jia Hao is dead because he was once at the top of the class in English…
I don't think Qi Jia Hao is really dead, atleast they didn't show it in the series...Qi Jia Hao was feeling left out in the beginning and he complained as to how Sheng Wang was getting more popular.
I don't know where he got these thugs...it was never explained properly in the series, just that Qi Jia Hao was friends with them so the thugs solved issues for him by intimidating and harrassing anyone who displeased him.
Probably the novel readers may have a better understanding of Qi Jia Hao's relationship with these thugs.
Get the police involved for fuck's sake. I don't understand how something like that happens and the immediate…
Even I felt that it should have been addressed the first time it happened and this was crossing the limit. To get outside goons to intimidate and misbehave with a female faculty was crossing the line for any student.
There should be serious repercussions for the instigators and the enabler.
So is Qi Jia Hao really dead or he committed suicide but is alive? I don’t understand quick the situation?I…
I guess it was more figuratively used that Qi Jia Hao is dead because he was once at the top of the class in English subject but now he is underperforming.
But I guess to blame the teacher for that is a little stretch.
It was implied that she no longer praises him, he is not at the top in the subject that is making him feel as if he is unpopular 'dead'.
Look at those new pictures Soo beautiful..... They do make a good pair
The new pics of both the leads have been posted on the occasion of mid- autumn festival as per Chinese tradition, that is on 17th September. Most of the ongoing or to be released series, post new promotional material on such festive occasions.
A little information about the festival given below from google.👇
The Mid-autumn Festival is held in conjunction with the worship of the God of Heaven. On this night, many houses are illuminated with lanterns, and feasts and dance parties are held on a grand scale. In Chinese tradition and literature, a full moon symbolises completeness and is associated with family reunion.

Eventhough Jiang Tian is more aware about his feelings, it's always Sheng Wang who is more vocal in expressing things.

Now again in this episode.
The difference between a period (.) and ellipsis (......)
Period (.) means end of conversation, there is nothing left to say anymore.
ellipsis (......) means, something is left intentionally unsaid, the conversation is at a pause and there are more things that are unsaid, to be said.
This lesson, is so much meaningful, as the relationship between Jiang Tian and Sheng Wang is at the ellipsis stage......
There are so many things bubbling at the surface between these two protagonists waiting to burst out.
(Personally, I love using ellipsis in most of my conversations)
Just, Sheng Wang saying 'ge' in his puppy dog manner😝
