If I had time to waste, I would say this. I wish the so called age gap police had been just as eager to make a fuss about the age differences in The Legend of Mi Yue, Unchained Love, The Double, The Rational Life, Royal Betrothal and other dramas. Their outrage seems very selective. They are loud about some fictional couples and completely silent about others. That does not look like a consistent moral standard. It looks more like convenient nitpicking.
I would also like them to check the age gap between their own parents before they make a fuss about something that is purely fictional. Fiction is not real life. It is fair to discuss power dynamics, consent and representation in stories. However, if someone only raises the age gap issue when it suits them, while ignoring it elsewhere and in their own family history, then it is not principled criticism. It is just noise. Before treating a fictional relationship like a moral crime, they should apply the same scrutiny to real life, starting at home.

I hope it was just an experiment to see if they can get away with that type of cramming and editing, otherwise it really doesn’t make sense why they would hire expensive actors with low budget and compromise profit.
thought the entire cast did a fantastic job. Every actor brought something convincing and memorable to their role, and not one performance felt weak, underdeveloped, or out of place. It was also genuinely refreshing that the SML wasn’t written as the usual cunning, jealous, or spiteful rival. That choice made the story feel less predictable and gave the character more dignity.
To be fair, the only real problem was on the production side. The production team let the actors down, especially throughout the last 5 episodes and most painfully in the final few minutes of the ending. It felt as though they tried to cram too many resolutions, emotional beats, and closure into a very short amount of time, which made the finale feel rushed instead of satisfying. The biggest mistake was using an already-aired scene as the main leads’ happy ending. Repeating a scene viewers had already seen was bizarre and jarring; it undercut the emotional payoff and made the conclusion feel recycled rather than earned. It’s possible the actors simply weren’t available for additional wrap-up filming, but whatever the reason, the result weakened what should have been the most rewarding part of the story. Overall, the cast deserved a much stronger final chapter.
