The Emperor is so lucky that Wei Yun and Chu Yu only aspires to be together, I would have killed him for all he…
So true. With everything they've lost and sacrificed, the least the emperor could do is let them be together. But he wants to control everything. This is how they turn loyal citizens into rebels. Ppl tired of the Emperor BS. I'm on ep. 33 and thinking he'll probably get a letter about her next.
The complaints about the actress are valid. I'm not even going to focus on the obvious age gap, which is only supposed to be 3 years, but it looks and feels like 10.
The problem is her expressions. When she's fighting, her stoic personality works. But in matters of love, she just stands there with little to no emotion even when the ML is making grand confessions. The chemistry isn't there because of her. God knows the ML is working his ass off trying to rub two sticks together to get the flame going.
If my city had a wall for protection back in the day, why not have weapons on that wall other than soldiers with arrows?! Poor planning. You need to have long range weapons like catapults. Pots filled with tar or oil that you hear up when battle is afoot and that way when the enemy gets close, you dump it on them, boiling them alive or at least giving them 3rd degree burns.. have contraptions that release multiple spears at once. Digging a moat filled with spikes doesn't hurt either. Just to name a few things cities can do to protect themselves from army attacks.
The man who design the weapons for them needs to step up his game. Stop spending so much time at the brothel.
Currently in ep. 22. Her schemes are ruthless, especially how she manipulates ppl. But her targets are precise. She's looking for her brother now and goes to the Chief Guard for help. I hope she gives him details other than "help me find my brother". He doesn't even know who she really is. Knowing her identity would go a long way into narrowing it down. Since I already suspect who he is.
Anyway I KNEW Consort Jing was going to be the real MVP Villain. She used her to help get the Zhoas out of the way of power. And now she's sharpening her claws for LY.
Personally hate this misunderstanding plot in the messy script. But I love PXR and RJL.And also it is not boring.…
Yeah, it's not realistic for him to want her love when he's being ruthless towards her.
She is busy, but she also isn't thinking. If I was poisoned, and it was something I ate, I'd want to get to the bottom of it. She almost died and yet hasn't asked any questions or demanded any investigation as to how the pear soup she had was poisoned. Seems like that should be a big deal.
I do like the brother and sister duo, but it's going to get messy. I'm sure her adoptive brother is alive too.

The problem is they're trying to use that trope "I can't tell them the truth because it will hurt them". Meanwhile, they know by not being honest, they end up being the villain. And he's trying to play the villain and the hero at the same time and it's not making sense. Because now she already KNOWS her master was the Ghost King, so what secret is he still protecting? One min, he does something heroic and the next, he does something she seems monstrous. She's portrayed as his righteous character, but has she really shown any concern for the victims of her master? She should be actively trying to see what will happen to those kids and if they can be cured. She should want to know who is behind her Master. Even her father poisoned her and the emperor kept that fact from her. That was stupid because how can you protect someone from a threat that they trust? What if daddy sends some more poisoned food that she'll eat without questions. Look here, Emperor, you don't have any mor miracle antidotes available. She might die next time and had he'd been honest, she would know what a danger her father is.

I honestly hate misunderstanding plots because it's hardly a good reason to have the adults act that way. I love when the characters treat each other maturely. They'll have 10 episodes of frustrating drama from one misunderstanding that a five min. Conversation could have prevented.
A good example of this is "The Story of Minglan". I still remember the words he told her during his confession that resonated. They were very romantic.
She sees only what she wants to see. She only concludes what she wants to think.
Yep. She doesn't really show concern for others. For example, when the emperor took her to the home where her murderous and lying adoptive brother was hiding. All she could focus on was what he was asking HER to sacrifice while she was demanding him to send thousands to their deaths to save her brother. All because he wasn't moving fast enough for her. When he presented that question to her. Do you think she self-reflected? Nope. She didn't have a response for him.
She hasn't tried to find out about those kids either or if there is a cure for what her precious master did to them. All she cares about who who lied to her. And she has more hate for the emperor who lied to her in their brief time knowing each other, than her master who lied her whole life.
It is possible to criticize something you like. I never understand how ppl feel like you can't and if you have…
A lot of ppl are just making comments as each episode airs. And most of the time, what motivates ppl to comment--if it's a lot of it going on--are things that frustrate them. So, you may see more complaints if that's all the viewer is seeing at the moment. Once the story changes, shifts into what the premise promises, those comments will also reflect the things ppl are enjoying that they are finally seeing on their screens that they were hoping for.
when u put it like this.. yeah, u are right. her reaction to her shifu revealation making me feel.. no matter…
The political intrigue is the most interesting part, because waiting for the romance to blossom when the ML and FL derail it for stupid reasons is a little tiresome to me. Probably because I've binged too many Cdrama overusing this trope.
when u put it like this.. yeah, u are right. her reaction to her shifu revealation making me feel.. no matter…
The emperor is also a problem. By keeping her in the dark, and allowing her to blame him for everything she's mad about in the world, he's not helping her. He can't be both the villain and hero of her story at the same time. He, time and time, seems hurt that she hates him and wants her to have feelings for him, but then he turns around and does things she feels as monstrous.
He won't tell her how dangerous her family is, so she's more unprotected than they both think. What if she eats something else her father sends that's poisoned. How many antidotes do you have in stock before you have to tell her to stop trusting her father.
So, it's this whole "misunderstanding" trope that they are wringing the life out of. Keeping ppl in the dark for the "greater good" when no good is coming from it.
That trope is so stupid, but dramas love to use it like it's the only thing they can come up with to create problems for the characters. They always do more harm than good by not being honest. And once the person finds out, it's never as bad as they feared it would be and they actually suffered more by not being honest with each other. Love in the Clouds was a good example of that.
Exactly. π I'll be treating everything like I'm trying to avoid Death in Final Destination. Wearing gloves, cause I ain't touching things with my bare hands. π I've seen too many ppl poisoned that way.
Shoooot, I'll show up to your dinner party, if I have to, with my own silverware. And I do mean silver in my wares. All utensils made from silver, bowls, cups, and plates. π
Hell yeah, keep those incense OUT of my room. If I walk into a room with some burning, I'm walking right back out. I don't care if ppl call me eccentric. What you will call me is cautious. . If I don't make it myself, I don't trust it.

She is a dud in that aspect.

Okay, she seems to get stupid at ep. 23.
She is busy, but she also isn't thinking. If I was poisoned, and it was something I ate, I'd want to get to the bottom of it. She almost died and yet hasn't asked any questions or demanded any investigation as to how the pear soup she had was poisoned. Seems like that should be a big deal.

So, that's my issue.

And what good are the two who supposedly came to protect him? They haven't done anything but talk.
I hope he doesn't remain poisoned 25/30 eps.
