That was a long journey. S2 was without doubt a turbulent ride. The whole nature of the plot was sad and depressing.…
I actually wanted more of Seo Joon's background story with his parents. We know they abandoned him, and that's a major reason why he was so clingy and chased Jiwoo, like his life was at stake.
Japanese BLs have me cracking up - the name of the show is all "innocent" but you never know what's going to go down - "What do you jerk off to?" "I jerk off to the one I like"
Excuse me? πππ
"Cupcake"? Yeah. Nozue's "cake" was getting "cupped" by Togawa on the bed. I was like, "What is he DOING??"
They're so cute. Nozue is beautiful, very. He think he's "old" and nothing special, but I love his eyes and hair...his skin. He's just adorable. I want to squeeze him. He's so insecure, and lonely, and sweet. Togawa is gorgeous, and in love with Nozue, and tries to hide it, but can't help himself. The internal struggle is real.
I love how Japanese men can be so INTENSE in BLs - "I've been trying to seduce you, with everything I have..." "I like you so much, I could die". I hear you, baby. I hear you. That first kiss - Togawa put his finger in Nozue's mouth - that was a bold move, and we all know the finger was a stand in for another body part. Yes indeed. ππβ€οΈ
His confession pours out, like a dam breaking, from years of pressure. He couldn't control himself, but was so afraid of rejection, he covered Nozue's mouth, before he was able to speak, and his shame "unfortunately this is normal to me" made him think he deserved to be punished for his confession. Wow.
The writing is lovely. The music is lovely (playing in the background, without being overpowering). Just a cute story, that's way too short. We're going to get that typical, "running frantically on the bridge" scene, the finale. Must have that.
What a bumpy ride. Phew...I didn't think I was going to make it, let alone those two. Was this a perfect ending? No, not at all. The resolution was too neat and tidy, and considering the angst and turmoil in episodes 1-8, I wanted a bit more. Seo Joon gave in a bit too easily - BUT I was tired, to be honest. My soul was fried by the end of Ep 8.
Jiwoo finally decided to show his vulnerablity, and stop acting like he didn't love Seo Joon. That was my requirement for ME to be okay with them being together. Yes, it was too quick, but there were some things that needed to be spoken and done, to keep me from losing it.
Jiwoo: "Even when I ran from you, you were never actually gone. I could pull you up on Google. So I decided to stop running from you. But if you keep pushing me away, I won't run after you like you ran after me.
Seo Joon: Is that a threat?
Jiwoo: No. I'm begging you. Can I get a hug?
Me: WTF? Lol
Anyway. The rest - Jiwoo was willing to meet Seo Joon more than half way - he walked up the steps, enough for Seo Joon to "come to him", by stepping down - "You told me if it got tough, you would come to me". It was hard for him, but considering all the anguish he caused by disappearing, it was necessary for him to push past his own discomfort, and show up for his man. I was hoping Seo Joon would stay on those stairs, and he did. There is indeed a limit, and he'd reached his.
The dialogue on the steps - Jiwoo's confession that he was a coward and wrong for what he did? I was happy to just hear him open up his mouth and share what was on his heart. He was so tight-lipped and unyielding. He's sooooo cute, tho. When he would cry, my heart would melt. I wanted to strangle him....and snuggle him.
I need a drink, but To My Star (1&2) is still my favorite Korean BL for sure, and it's in my top 5 favorite BL series.
Cousin relationships are NOT incest. Educate yourself, please. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage posting…
You're free to put YOUR morals aside, but I don't think the question was how do YOU feel about incest. You said "cousin relationships aren't incestuous", and instructed the other person to "educate themselves", and then provided a link that clearly states it depends on the culture. Just because the law allows something doesn't mean everyone is obligated to practice or accept what the law allows.
Again you elevate "law" above all else, which doesn't allow for cultural expression, that may not include practices that are considered legal.
Eating pork isn't illegal, but some cultures are forbidden to eat pork. So to say, "Well I think you should cast your views aside and be okay with eating pork, because the law allows it" doesn't make sense.
So if people are "iffy" about it, that's their right to be.
Yeah...and I'm like "You SAW Pete's body. You saw what Vegas did to him", and you punched him in the face once? I woulda beat the shit out of Vegas, if he'd done that to my friend. You saw how traumatized Pete was, and you bring his tormentor to his welcome home party? WTF?
That's why Tankhun has replaced both Kinn and Porsche as my favorite. He's the only one that never takes a vacation from sound, rational thinking, and when he cares about you, you are truly cared for. You can always count on him to provide clarity and direction, when those two can't seem to catch a clue. He's funny and over the top, but he gets everybody together, when needed.
I agree, which was interesting since Pete's entire mission to the devil's lair was to prove Porsche wasn't a traitor. Not only did Porsche forget he was in the world, but threw him under the bus, after he returned wounded and beat down.
Cousin relationships are NOT incest. Educate yourself, please. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage posting…
"In some cultures and communities, cousin marriages are considered ideal and are actively encouraged and expected; in others, they are seen as incestuous and are subject to social stigma and taboo. Cousin marriage was historically practiced by indigenous cultures in Australia, North America, South America, and Polynesia.[4]"
From the link you provided. So sounds like some cultures consider it incestuous.
The VegasPete scenes? " hard to watch. I'm glad Pete told Vegas "I'm a human being with feelings." not Vegas' punching bag. When I saw the wreckage to Pete's body, when he was in the tub, and Porsche was tending to his wounds, I cried - it was absolutely horrific.
Pete's "funeral" added some much needed comic relief - I screamed, during all of it. But the "ATM" took me out! Pol and Arm are such good, faithful companions. They just ride along, and never complain.
It was a bit sad to realize how Kinn and Porsche just forgot about Pete. When was somebody going to say "Pete's been gone an awfully long time..." Khun once again had to prove he's the MVP in the bloodline. When Pete expressed feelings of worthlessness, I can imagine how much more intense it felt to think the one you wanted to prove wasn't a traitor didn't think to come look for you.
"Would you stop being stupid?" Hear, hear! It's a side affect of being dickmatized, I guess.
Yes, I'm still a little salty about how Big was just forgotten. Pete gets a funeral, while still living. Big gave up his life for Kinn, not Porsche - he told Porsche, "Kinn loves you very much..." and because Big loved Kinn, he protected the man Kinn loved, with his life. That was very honorable, kind...and very sad. It's like he never existed.
The pool scene was great - as usual, Mile and Apo delivered on the lovemaking. Side note: I don't think I'll ever see lovemaking {all of their scenes} so beautifully done again - I was moved emotionally...got teary eyed a couple of times. it was something to see. The EP 7 bathroom scene is still my favorite - that was ground-breaking. My throat was parched, from my mouth hanging open.
Same for Tong!!! Nailed it!!!!!He understood the assignment and he is my favourite fucking character !!!!!
...and the only one who has an abundance of common sense. He had to remind Kinn and Porsche about Pete, and why he wouldn't just not show up, without reporting to Kinn.
They still thought he was at grandma's house. πππ
We've got one more episode, kids...and then it's over, until season 2, which will be a long wait. I was a KinnPorsche fan, since the beginning, and I can honestly say, it was truly worth the wait. It was a bumpy ride, and almost didn't happen...and knowing what I know now, that would have been unfortunate.
I hope BOC takes their time, and delivers an even better season 2. Please don't mess it up.
Mile and Apo? They're my new favorite BL couple. "Chemistry" is used so often to describe that "thing" that sets a couple apart, but with these two, I think "synergy" is the best description. You could literally see how they fed off each other's strengths, to create a couple that was better than their individual characters. It's not "Kinn and Porsche". It's KinnPorsche, and they dug deep, and did their best. They broke me. I can't go back to the bullshit.
With that said, if I could only meet one actor from the cast, Tong would be my first choice. That's right, and I love me some Mile, Apo and Bas. But Tong was born to play Tankhun. I can't even imagine anyone else. He is a pleasure to watch, every time he appears on the screen. Absolute perfection. He needs a Netflix contract. I'll renew my subscription.
It's going to be a tough rest of the year for me, when it comes to BL. I have no idea what I'm going to watch next. I abandoned Check Out. I finished Not Me - Papang needs a main role. He's too fine and talented for just supporting roles. To My Star 2 is coming to an end...and I'm glad, because as much as I love the series, the lead characters are frustrating to watch.
I checked out, after Ep 3.
Excuse me? πππ

That's the point.
You took "Incest?" as bashing someone? They asked a question, and you implied they weren't educated on the matter.
What are you even talking about? Gays and Aids?
Focus. You're all over the place.
πππ

I'm going to miss this show.
I actually loved Manner of Death..it's my embarrassing confession. π
Max/Tul could do no wrong, back then.
They still thought he was at grandma's house. πππ
