This is why I say "culture" and cultural attitudes are open to criticism. I live by those words.

Yes, people wil dig up your past, and most of us are different people than we were 8 years ago. But unfortunately your words can come back to haunt you. Sexual assault is no joke, and his words are greatly offensive.

I haven't read about his apology, but understand "apologies" are often PR damage control. Of course he's going to say he's sorry. Doesn't mean he actually is sorry. Only he knows that. Also doesn't mean his perspective is different now, just means he would probably not say those same things today, because he's matured and understands the importance of choosing your words carefully, as a public figure. People can change, but if there's nothing motivating them to change - the desire to be a better person, they stay where they are.

This is another reason why I cringe when folks act like they "know" actors/entertainers. It blows my mind. You don't know them. You see what they show you, and what they show you is not all there is, and it may not be authentic at all. Separate the actor from the role. A LOT of these guys have some horrific attitudes/perspectives about women and sexual assault.

I've seen this happen more than a few times - they say something racist, sexist, or just generally problematic, and they get the cultural/homogeneous/ignorance excuse. They're rarely held accountable.

Am I disappointed? Yes. Surprised? No.

Right! Taiwanese BL dramas are usually pretty good quality. Don't know what happened with this one. I guess they thought the cameos would make up for the bad writing.

Let's not forget Nikita, who actually thought Fu Li would end his relationship and be with her. Made no sense, which is why I usually can't stand the women in BL series.

SERIOUSLY 100% this - i've heard so many times people say they can't watch 'Not Me' because the actors are too…
Well that's why it works with Gun. He can't help that he looks young, but it's up to the writers and directors to create a "grown man".

Yes!

I am SHOOK!
I normally hate when BL couples look like really young, especially when one of the couple looks/acts older - it can come across as predatory and creepy - like in Cutie Pie.

I don't know why it works here - yes I do, actually. Gun looks very young, because of those great genes, but he's clearly an adult...a young man, but a grown man. White and Sean are equals. Sean doesn't "parent" White.

The love scene between White and Sean in the tent - πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸš’. It was hotter than Daonuea and Nine on the desktop (Check Out). Which proves it's possible to bring the heat, fully clothed, when the script is hot, the actors are hot, the chemistry is there, and the actors understand the assignment. It was sensual, sexy, tender, hot...all that.

When White straddled Sean, and did that "mouth to ear" action (that's my thing), and asked, "Did you like that?", I answered "Yes, I did" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Very grown up, and none of that silly, childish, fake "demure" (after-we-just-broke-the-headboard) nonsense.

Yok and Dan...wow. The scene where Yok is drawing Dan nude, and Dan is overcome with emotion and vulnerability, and Yok meets him where he is, and communicates comfort and acceptance, in his body language, and in his words. Just a beautiful exchange. One of my favorite scenes.

The storyline is different from what we usually see in Thai BL especially, and I'm here for it...there's a message for humanity. I love the OST. The actors πŸ‘πŸ½ - Papang needs a lead role. He's beautiful to look at, and wonderful to watch onscreen. Gun is amazing - this is my first time experiencing him, and I wasn't disappointed.

Definitely in my top 5 BL series. A must watch.

Not a favorite, and I didn't like the second couple - I was annoyed, actually. I fast forwarded thru a lot of it.

That would be an ideal ending. That emotionless MF should suffer till the end.
Yeah. In my opinion, the way Jiwoo left him alone, with no explanation...and still hasn't given a truthful one, he needs to stay alone.

He plays games. Wtf was that kiss for, a few episodes back? You can't open your mouth and speak about why you walked off for a year, but you have the nerve to kiss him? I would have slapped the shit out of him.

This is one of those shows that should have been 12 minutes per episode, like Viki Exclusives. The shows that need to be 30+ minutes, we can't have. But this travesty gets the time.

Personally I really agree with you like we are allowed to have our own opinions on characters how we see fit because…
Yes. It's like people can't even say what they think about a character. It's like because they relate to a character's behavior, they take criticism of that character personally, like it's them getting criticized.

And the lack of tongue. The kisses were too bland for a hot sex scene.
Tongue is hard to get. If it's Korean BL, you can forget it. I don't even look for it anymore. Even in the hottest BL sex scene in history - Ep 7 of KinnPorsche, there were open mouths, but I didn't see any tongue, which was interesting considering all the other activity that was happening. You're jerking him off, but he gets no tongue?

I think it depends on the comfort level of the actors. With Zee, for instance, you're gonna get tongue, if the other actor is down for it. He does not come to play. He understands the assignment.

Well at this point this is just mysery porn. They are just using all the ammunition they have to create implausible…
That's pretty much it. I will say I have a better understanding of why Seo Joon was doing so much - he's traumatized from past abandonment by his parents, and this is just a painful reminder. He doesn't have the ability to self regulate, when it comes to his emotions/actions. He just keeps pushing, until his soul gives out.

Jiwoo? I don't have anything to work with...and I didn't in season one. I was hoping we would get some more insight and understanding of his pricky nature, but it's 2 episodes from being done, and I still don't know who he is.

I still don't understand Jiwoo. But I have a much better understanding of Seo Joon. I've always said he was doing…
Yes! Seo Joon is such a lover - so open. He doesn't hold back, not a drop. He put all his cards on the table, despite his issues. I love that about him. But I wanted him to leave Jiwoo alone, because he was neglecting his own emotional well being, trying to run after Jiwoo - he's got unresolved trauma, so he can't self regulate - he just "spills out". It's like "Grab your soul, and go back to Seoul".

I'm not sure I understanding what's going on with JW. Is it me or the writing is a bit confusing on that matter?…
I still don't understand Jiwoo. But I have a much better understanding of Seo Joon. I've always said he was doing too much, and before this episode, I didn't know why - but after hearing he was abandoned by his parents, it all clicks. People with abandonment issues spend a lot of time trying to prove their worth - because being abandoned makes you feel worthless.

Poor baby. I think he is traumatized and Jiwoo's silence/indifference is heartbreaking. Plus, what was that kiss about a few episodes ago? "How can you be so honest about everything..." and then he kisses Seo Joon? Help me with that, because I need help. Just being a messy ball of confusion.

We got two episodes left, and Jiwoo is still a problem.

Nothing to do with being gay. In real life, man or woman, straight or LGBTQ+ there are many people so in love…
She didn't comment about BL being for women. She said poor love choices aren't limited to straight men and women, and that's correct. You weren't attacked.

Y'all don't @ me, but I'm enjoying season 2. Is Ji Woo frustating me; yes. Is my heart breaking for Seo Joon;…
I think the problem is the timing. At this point in the game, them getting back together is going to seem rushed...just like they rushed a happy ending in Season 1, when Jiwoo was problematic most of the season. I don't know how they made it.

So to be 8 episodes in, when there still has not been a real meeting of the minds - all the "code speak", and inability to speak the truth to the one you want - it won't make sense for them to get "happily ever after", and I'm fine with that. Ghosting is one of the cruelest things you can do to someone who loves you. When Jiwoo was reading old texts from Seo Joon, my heart broke, "Where are you? I just want to know if you're okay..." Seo Joon was literally traumatized, and add to that his parents abandonment? It's too much. That gives some insight into why he kept pushing - he's trying to deal with being left behind by his parents, and then again by Jiwoo.

If Jiwoo is miserable without Seo Joon, then he should go to him, arms open, speak the truth about his reason for abandoning him, plead for his forgiveness (not demand) and accept whatever the outcome is.

But if it were me? I highly doubt I would take him back.

"Nothing to do with me"? That 'reads a smidge different"? Sure.
I don't care about changing your original opinion. I clarified my third paragraph, and instead of addressing that, or NOT, you chose to deflect to something else entirely. I'm fine with that too. Just reminding you of it.
