The thing is he has already started treating this whole world as not just a novel. He has spent time living and…
That’s a really good explanation… I just feel the plot should have focused more on Qiu Shui and his family moments, or at least let the attachment develop gradually alongside the story. Right now, Qiu Shui’s emotions feel all over the place. I don’t feel connected to his pain.... instead, I'm yelling, “Just finish the mission already and get out of that damn world!”.

He had good times with his 'novel' family. They are novel characters but the closeness felt real to him. Now,…
I’m actually convincing myself with this logic… but still, the plot should have been developed in a more believable way.

why is he crying so much its not even his real family its just characters from a novel
I had the same doubt too… maybe his mother is no longer alive in his real world, but here he actually found a family..... a mother who pampers him and makes his favorite soup, a father and siblings he grew attached to, and friends who would even die for him. If you truly love someone that much, of course you’d cry for them and want to protect them. Our ML is just too kind.
But honestly, I didn’t like when he said “Brother, I never lied to you.” Personally, I wanted Qiu Shui to hate his brother, escape with his friends, and find his own way to expose the enemy. Yes, he might have been labeled the unfaithful son of the Xiao family, but at least he’d be true to himself..... better that than fighting for brothers who don’t even trust him.
To be real, I don’t feel anything for the Xiao family at all, nor do I connect with Qiu Shui crying for them. They just made CY’s character miserable for no reason. I wasn’t sad when Tang Rou died either, and I honestly didn’t understand why Qiu Shui was crying so much.

Why? His only business should’ve been to become a sect leader and finally get his own story after that.
This drama failed to convince me that Qiu Shui (Ming Ming) is so deeply attached to his so-called novel family. I actually want him to be selfish, strategic, and focus on his own path...
This drama actually has a really good plot, but they unnecessarily turned it into a transmigration story.

The Journey of Legend has been on the air for 6 days and the effective playback volume has exceeded 400 million…
what is the current heat index of tencent and iqiyi ??

Everyone in the Sword Manor would be dead. They probably dont have water to last for 20 days.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. So much has happened since he left home, and on top of that, he’s been traveling to all the sects on his long list.... asking for help, getting captured, and dealing with everything in between.
Realistically, all of that should have taken more than just 20 days, especially since the only modes of transport are walking or riding a horse.

Am I the only one who thinks the fighting scenes from CY should all be in slow mo so we can appreciate how it…
Tbh, slow-motion fight scenes aren’t that fun to watch… Cheng Yi has the speed and talent to make everything look so real.
I do wish we had some prolonged fight scenes so we could really take in all the details of those complex moves. But wow.... today’s fight scene with the Sword King was an absolute feast for the eyes. I’ve been watching it on loop and still can’t get enough! 💕🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I hope the third mission is successful and he ends up joining Qiu Shui’s team. I’m really manifesting some good bromance moments 😁😅..

This drama has some of the finest action choreography I’ve ever seen...let the haters cry in the corner. They’re doing everything they can to sabotage it, but the truth is they’re just insecure because their idol could never pull off action scenes the way Cheng Yi does. I don’t usually hate on anyone, but looking at those IMDb ratings, it’s obvious this is nothing but a targeted attack.
So far, the plot is solid, the pacing is perfect, and the story is both interesting and emotionally engaging.
Cheng Yi once again proves he’s unmatched when it comes to subtle and nuanced acting.

this is the first transmigration drama I’ve truly loved since The Romance of Tiger and Rose. It feels like stepping into a whole new world and experiencing a completely different life...it’s so much fun to watch.

Maybe I should just stay away from MDL for a while, it’s painful watching the ratings keep dropping. I really don’t get what’s wrong with people.... how can they rate episodes that haven’t even aired yet? It’s ridiculous.

the problem i have with this kind of transmigration into a game or book is that i feel there is a huge barrier…
Don’t think of it as a game.... it’s like traveling to a whole new world where everything around him is real. He’s meeting real people, not just characters on a page. From his point of view, he can feel the pain, the confusion, the fear.
Some of the people around him even resemble those from his own world. He’s accepted himself as a member of the Xiao family and genuinely feels the love they’ve given him. Of course he’s angry and emotional.... wouldn’t you be if someone hurt people who felt like your own family or friends?

I think you might be missing the core concept of this drama. The whole purpose of his transmigration is for him…
Do you really think he could survive in this world by acting like a scared puppy? What other option did he have? I think he realized this the moment Fu Tian Yi caught him. When the string wrapped around his neck and his eyes started turning red, that’s when his muscle memory kicked in. If he hadn’t fought for his life right then, Fu Tian Yi would have killed him on the spot. People become extraordinarily fearless when they’re pushed to the edge.

And regarding Qin guy and the Poison Boy... when he killed them, he was in a state of absolute rage after watching all the Xiao brothers slaughtered right in front of him. He ran off shouting, “They can’t kill him!” He was basically testing his luck with the mechanism Tang Rou had created earlier, and luckily it worked.... he succeeded in killing them both.

By the time he killed those three major villains, he had already gotten used to wielding his sword. But let me tell you, everything is happening so fast that he doesn’t even have time to breathe or clear his mind.
All he can do is keep surviving and protect the people around him.

It's nice to see Mingming in Qiushui starting to develop his sense of chivalry - he used to want to just lie low,…
The plot is really excellent....it’s just that the supporting characters could have been fleshed out more. Still, I’m satisfied with what we’re getting.

I think the story would have been pretty much the same even if he was Xiao Qiu Shui from the beginning and not…
I think you might be missing the core concept of this drama. The whole purpose of his transmigration is for him to experience the efforts and struggles of the protagonist in the novel he’s writing. Of course he didn’t panic when he woke up.....at first, he thought it was just a dream. It wasn’t until he checked his surroundings and realized they were real that the truth hit him. And even then, there was no time to panic because he was immediately being chased and his sister caught him.

The original character already had the basic foundation thanks to muscle memory, so performing simple moves wasn’t difficult.... the body was already trained for it. We can clearly see that he’s still afraid of blood, though. At the beginning, he only wanted to pass time and get away with things. His hands were even shaking when he killed the fisherman villain. He’s relying on strategies from his modern knowledge and the parts of the story he remembers, trying his best to protect the people around him.

I think the portrayal of a modern man thrown into this world is spot on. And considering the original novel isn’t even a transmigration story, the writers have actually done a really good job .

Indeed - he has no comedic timing. But the script is also not witty/humorous enough. Not all on him.
Tell me, what so-called “comedic moments” did you even see in this drama? The only lighthearted scenes are when Qiu Shui is with his family... and even then, he’s portrayed as a childlike, obedient son. Beyond that, what we see is his frustration and annoyance at how the system keeps toying with him. And honestly, Cheng Yi delivered that exactly as the script intended. That’s the character. There is absolutely no comedy here, it’s simply nonexistent.

Tang Rou's death didn't hit hard. Maybe it's the actor being young or he died too early in the drama so I can't…
Exactly, that’s because the plot is moving so fast. There’s little to no time for the supporting cast to be fully fleshed out.

Cheng Yi’s character is not supposed to be comic. This drama is way more serious than MLC. His role is written to be confused, childlike, and obedient, with subtle expressions.... and now we’re seeing him turn into someone heroic and fierce. If you think that’s “comic,” then you clearly didn’t understand the character at all.
