What?! š± Thatās insaneā¦ Did they really say that? Cheng Yi gained his fans because of his talent and hard work.... not because of HR. Now Iām really scared. They did the same thing to Allen Ren... HR gave allen terrible scripts and cut off his endorsements for two years. Iām scared they might do the same to Cheng Yi š. I really hope the rumors are true and his contract ends this yearā¦ he deserves so much better.

I think the issues began with VOA. After the announcement, filming didnāt start right away, and a lot probably happened behind the scenes that we donāt know about.
It's also unusual that HR isnāt involved in the production at all... none of their actors are part of the drama either. Maybe Cheng Yi is just waiting for his contract with HR to end. He used to get back-to-back endorsements, but now heās completely disappeared from the spotlight. š„²

Exactlyā¦ every time Ming Sheng yells at his dad or talks back and hurts him, it really pisses me off. heās not the perfect father, but he definitely doesnāt deserve all the hate heās getting. He did what he could, and at least he stayed. That has to count for something.
Why does Ming Sheng hate his father so much? I feel so bad for him... š I get where Ming Sheng is coming from, but this feels a bit too much. Yes, his father is workaholic, but itās not like he doesnāt care. Heās just never been good at expressing it. At the very least, his father was there and provided for him. His mother just left him and went abroad without looking back. Itās heartbreaking, but sometimes the way he treats his dad feels unfair...
I really hope they can reconcileā¦ though, for some reason, I have a feeling his father might die in the end.
Arenāt we getting enough rom-coms these days? It honestly baffles me how people rate a drama low just because itās not a light, fluffy rom-com. This drama is heavy, yes.... but it beautifully captures the reality of many Asian families. I can genuinely understand what each character is going through, even the mother.
For me, this drama is perfect. Itās a breath of fresh air. Itās not your typical love story, and thatās exactly why Iām enjoying it so much. Itās been a while since I felt this connected to a modern drama.
I'm on episode 4, and I think I can understand the mother now. After what happened to her first daughter, it's only natural that sheās not the same anymore. Even though she moved to a new place, she canāt escape the guilt..... deep down, she knows her daughter ended up like that because of her own negligence. Maybe thatās why sheās so strict with her second daughterā¦ itās her way of trying to protect her, even if it feels harsh.
I'm on episode 14, and as usual, Ao Rui Peng is absolutely killing it in this role. His character really stands out and leaves a strong impact compared to the others in the drama. The storyline is also really well-written ..... I'm hooked!

I know his projects usually take a long time to air š„², but I still get excited whenever thereās an announcement that heās joining a new filming crew. At least then, we get to see him in the daily returns ..... that makes the wait a little easier.
