The one character I hate more than even the pair of psychotic "brothers" is Li Huai Qing . There is nothing worse than a sanctimonious piece of scheming sh*t , who claims he is doing it all for the 'higher good'.
My thoughts on this show it is full of hidden identities and romantic misunderstandings and had potential, but…
It seems this director tends to do style over substance, Strange really. In the book things are overcomplicated but make sense, and so do the behavior and motivation of the characters. Drama drops the ball midway and gets muddled. It is hard to believe it was written by the same writer who wrote LLTG and The Rise of Phoenixes...
you're entitled to your opinion and others to theirs. Personally even if part of a drama is liked less than other…
Art in not subjective, people's perception of it is . People rate on their emotions all the time , which is their choice . But when they claim it is a masterpiece and a 10, it it is akin to enjoying street food and writing a review proclaiming it is gourmand culinary masterpiece deserving a Michelin star award. Story telling, character development, camera work, pacing, framing, lighting and acting - all these things are first of all a craft . Craft is objective, it has parameters and, methods and rules. Of course everybody is entitled to rate any which way they want, but there is so much gushing, and hating on anyone who is not in raptures over this drama it is a bit ridiculous.
I tried really hard to like the drama, and while I can see the appeal, I don't understand a rating this high.…
You can't see it. Fuss is not something one can see with a clinical eye. Fuss is about suspending disbelieve and just falling n love with the story and its characters. It is like enjoying span sugar candy. If you start looking for nutritional value you are not going to enjoy it .
I actually agree. The standard is unrealistic. Itâs gonna be hard for the current actors to keep up and harder…
If you donât watch c-drama why care how actors look in it? BTW kunfu actors wore makeup, sorry to disappoint. ALL actors in film, theatre, TV wear makeup, always have done. Otherwise faces would lose definition, skin tone would vary wildly from scene to scene, and if you donât control shine faces become reflective and may look like they are missing parts. Proper makeup is not noticeable, unless it is meant to be. Bad makeup we can see .

Different genre, Bruce Lee was not an idol. These are romantic dramas, and most of us want to see beauty not ugly or commonplace. As to FAKE and shouldnât be promoted, beauty has been enhanced and celebrated from time immemorial, and from time immemorial there has always been a contingency of puritans who ranted agains it. As if beautiful people on screen or in art or life take something away from them personally.

What a bizarre comment. You have never met any gorgeous Chinese people so that means actors donât look Chinese? And why should actors who play roles of exceptionally beautiful people look like a common men on the street? Japanese actors donât look common either. Japan simply has a different esthetics.

These old days have never existed in cinematography. Actors always wore makeup, you simply have to because the lighting makes faces go flat. What you call natural has become possible only in the last decade or so with advance of technology, and makeup itself. In them old days the makeup was very heavy.

Just because they do it always, I and millions upon millions of people in the world donât need to consider it a normal way to lead a country. Same as I would not frame tyranny as ânormalâ , or a psychopath doing what psychopaths do as normal. If it is normal for you it is your choice.
This thread shows how differently people are reading the situation.Yes, the industry created this environment,…
The issue is not the call, but who is making it. The fact that a government agency can dictate what image to project and how much makeup to use , for many is so abnormal and frankly appalling that whether it makes sense or not becomes irrelevant.
BTW, historically speaking men did wear make up in many cultures, including China. In China in particular in Tang, refined appearance for men included makeup. Also historically in many cultures so did generals. Not for beauty sake but for visual impact. As an aside, mind boggles that people in charge of running a country with a ton of real problems , spend time regulating make up!!! in costume fantasy drama. Wow.
