Nobody was arrested yet for leaking the remaining episodes?
Ironic, China's history of piracy of everything they can get their hands on is well-documented—costing the U.S. economy alone $225 to $600 billion annually. But leaking eps of a drama - that is a criminal offense.
I really didn't think this was going to be FML-centric (but I haven't read the book). I thought it was going to…
I thought it would be equal too, but right now it feels a little off. Don't take me wrong, I think the drama is superb, but to me it is loosing something in later eps ...
I totally understand this is FML driven drama, but somehow for me the scenes begin to really sparkle when ML is in them. He has such a powerful presence, so with him mostly absent for several eps, is making it a tiny bit less interesting for me to watch. Her solo adventures, and too many scenes with the psychopathic QiMin, who is really getting on my nerves, don't create the same magic, I think.
I am trying to understand the timeline. How long is the winter in this drama? It feels they have been together many months already but it is still snowing in ep 18.
Imo they did not treat the Mao era with kid gloves at all. The drama is full of criticism and the comedic elements…
I guess for modern audience who have little or none of personal experience of living under a psychopathic communist cult the show depiction would look adequate. I agree though about people not wanting to see too much misery, they want to see kisses and sweet moments. I just wonder if there is ever going to be a truthful representation of that history, and the trauma it inflicted on people, but probably not. The couple is delightful.
For most Chinese 1966 to the end of 1976 were living in a chaotic, impoverished, soul destroying, punitive hell . The drama seems to treat Mao cult with kid gloves, almost comically. I wonder why - censorship? I have seen other dramas by this director, he is sloppy with details and sets... there are comments from people that it looks and feels like the era - I assume commentators did not live during that time, because it doesn't really, but the story is sweet.
I just happen upon this drama... Issues it brings up are real, but it is so overboard it is unbelievable. Most adults in this drama are nauseating. They are irredeemably, grotesquely despicable. And even if 50% of the violent, abusive, manipulative behavior of his mother is allowed in the society, it is a very sick society. She is a sociopath.
There should be a law punishing this sort of behavior. . This is stalking and the fact that actors are sort of public figures should not make any difference.
People need to get a life,. Those who made a major issue out of this cartoon are either trolls or so over sensitive they need their heads examined. And actors need to stop apologising for every sneeze to raving neurotics and to the ever ready to get offended.
