I have no quarrel with his performance , I only think chinese actors are not often presented with interesting roles. It is basically same old same old in different costumes. There is so much talent being wasted on cliches and fluff.

Not for me. The Original drama is superb, tence, understated, exceptionally acted. This feels fake, staged, and trying too hard.

Yeah, I had the same thought, it could start fitting Korean drama to American tastes , it is already happening with Netflix productions, and Korean dramas could lose their cultural integrity and as a result may lose their appeal.

Her pain was not just from the loss, but because she LOCKED her children alone in the house and left to have fun with friends. And then spent a year terrorising her small son (and his father) for her own guilt, and still feels she deserves to be compensated. I have zero pity for her - she is a totally self absorbed, egotistical, manipulative bitch. She doesn't deserve him and she doesn't deserve a second of happiness. The ending with her suddenly understanding how much she wronged him is about as realistic as Holy visitation.

I had missed this drama when it aired... It is exceptionally good. But I really -really hate these so called mothers, aunts, and grand mothers! And I really want to throttle that biological sister of his.

Yes! And flat when he confronted that friend of his. Flat when he was with his mother too.

I really like FML in this drama - much more than in ASOL, but ML is a bit wooden. His lack of dramatic acting skills becomes really noticeable after ep 20. He is gorgeous, but kind of monotonously placid...

That scene mid 12 ep post that awful wedding, under the snow (which ends up falling up instead of down 😂 ). We have an actual grown up, emotionally competent ML. Wow. That is a treat indeed.
