But we are not talking about genres, we are talking about quality, originality, acting and storyline. The question is not what, the question is how, like the dragon was done in LBFAD but it was original . People like or dislike all kind of stuff, and it is everybody's right to like whatever, but liking doesn't make writing and production any better. Calling this drama a masterpiece, as many here do, seems insane.

PofB is cut above. It was really great drama.

Meh... I mean, it is watchable but nothing special. The whole look an feel is that of a AI generated computer game, story is unoriginal, the cast of characters are predictable, dragon and cat have been done this way to death in other dramas. FML is cute , but her art of lying is so exceptional, like in ep3 about her fake family, it is borderline pathological. ML is too pretty and static, he looks and acts like a doll, not a human. Personally, I felt very little chemistry between them, second couple is much better, I think. Drama does have some good moments, and a bit of spice, but the whole storyline with her lying and obfuscating for 27 eps is stretched beyond all patience, and the intrigue is so predictable you can skip whole episodes and still keep up. I honestly don't understand all the gushing and accolades drama is getting on this board.

Whoever was dubbing ML voice needs to stop with this theatrical whispering crap. Half of the lines are delivered in this breathy, hissing voice, that makes ML sounds like he has spasmodic dysphonia. They are doing this shtick in all sort of dramas now, and it is annoying as hell.

Li Tong Guang elicits a very strong desire to kick him in the balls. 😛 They made him a complex and contradictory personality, but I am not sure they could have done much more., He is borderline psychotic. People with obsessive disorders and a streak of sadistic cruelty don't really change much, no matter what.

Pure hate, and desire to tear down. It was orchestrated and massive.

I think the drama went way too far with making everything about personal feeling, personal grudges, personal likes and preferences. It is like some family soap opera not a historical fantasy .

Basically she accuses the Emperor of being a power hungry jerk, yells that she is taking her children away, and will never allow them to be like him. All that in front of several witnesses, his second wife (now the Empress) and her father, who is now the Prime Minister. When the Emperor tells her she can go, but children stay, she pulls a sword on him. At which point the PM pulls out his own sword and kills her. There are also a lot of speeches about 'people' and 'power' and so on.

I kinda dropped off after the reveal of his mother's death. I thought drama was so grossly off key for a historical fantasy, I just could not keep suspending my disbelief. And for me there is no chemistry between the leads. He is great though, but it is like he is in love with an animated doll.

The hate he and the drama got was insane. Us, the Western audiences didn't really get exposed to it, but it was covered by Avenuex. For me ADWAD wouldn't have even made sense if I didn't known about the orchestrated vicious hate campaign against AJTL in China. What a nasty online culture.

I am finally rewatching , and finding I hate the power hungry SOB Prime Minister with the same zest I hated him first time around. Some things, apparently, don't change :)

The ending is atrocious. I think the drama didn't get the recognition is so richly deserves because of the ending.

For me personally this is one of the best dramas there is, whether it will get better for you personally nobody can judge but you.
