The script became trite and a bit muddled , too many flashbacks, and unresolved stuff, too many repetition of the same situation, instead of development. And her constant 'don't hurt them' and instituting an 8 hr work day in a land of immortals was kinda stupid.

I really liked ML in the first 10 or so eps, but later he became listless and monotonous. I kept watching, but it was becoming boring with a lackluster acting and circular stories.

I am on ep 23 and it feels like 2 eps already of nothing but a rerun of previous scenes... They could have done the whole amnesia trope in 1.5 eps instead of dragging it out and out and making her figure out who she is for so many eps. And do we really need the love triangle?

who would like it? It is one of those convoluted, no closure, no joy endings they do so often, or alternatively everybody dies.

I hate Ru Ling 😡

I am on th 12 ep... Wow it is dark! I have no idea how they managed to pull this drama off without crossing into macabre, and just plain bad taste horror show. Arthur Chen is amazing. The man exudes charisma, power, deepest emotion, and erotisism without going overbord even by an milimeter. She is the most adorable, beam of sunlight, smart, funny, NORMAL fml I had seen in a long time. She doesn't do that asian artificial cuteness and baby talk that for me is a major turn off. And that otter is a definition of cute. Suport cast is excellent, the snake is so lovable, it is hard to believe! The intrigue is interesting enough, but my god, it is absolutely devastating in its blatant cruelty.
I so hope they don't drop the ball somewhere later, and slide into trite, silly and sanctimonious.

I just started watching. It is not a genre I usually watch , but I just gave it a try, and wow! It is so good! She is adorable, they together are a feast; Arthur Chen is superb; I normally hate snakes but this one is a pure delight. I am keeping fingers crossed the drama keeps being that good.

Sure. Also tastes differ. Also sometimes a drama fits your mood, and sometimes the very same drama might irritate. It is all subjective. There is a school of acting that came from the old time theater, where actors needed to DEMONSTRATE feelings, they used very noticeable expressions, large gestures and so on. In contrast another school of acting is much more subtle, it invites audience to notice the inner state of the character, and pay attention to much smaller signs, the way one would in real life. I personally dislike the first school of acting a lot, but I know that many like it.

Most likely not. There have been some reversed trials: century old recipes made using the old techniques, cooking tool and so on. The results were not enjoyable for the testers, edible but not something they were impressed by. It literally takes time to develop taste buds to recognise new flavors, 8-15 tries. Some people are more adventurous in trying, but it is not the same as loving the new foods. Tastes in food are known to be very much culture, emotional associations, and habit based.

I think she is grotesquely overacting. There is no nuance in her expressions, there are endless grimaces, overboard intonation, exaggerated emotions. I think she is miscasted, because to my eyes she can't do comedy. Comedy is the most difficult thing to do well, and to my eye she is trying too hard , and her acting is dated. She acts semi normally in a few scenes, but mostly her acting (not the character) feels is out of place not in a good away. And frankly she does look right for the role either . Normally I don't care about age, or even looks, but here there is something off about it.

F*ck these "accusers". His character in As Beautiful as You plays cards and dice 2 or 3 times - did that gave them the idea to manufacture accusations? China should go after these parasites who add no value to anything instead of talented people whose lives they destroy.
