I am envious of you. I wish I could watch it for the first time. People here use word "masterpiece" for all kind of mediocre stuff just because they like a lead or chemistry, but this one is really a masterpiece. Acting, OST , camera work, pacing, visual storytelling is pure poetry; and the relationships between these mythologized characters are pure gold with just the right mix of tragedy and comedy and cuteness.

Yes. Only all this endless apologizing is cultural. They are constantly apologising for their existence in dramas as well. Actors don't have any private life at all, they are projection screens for the "fans" who basically think they own them, and publicly explaining their lives to the fans is expected of actors. Sick as it seems to a Western mind, it is their reality.

Yeah... corporate punishment used to be allowed in the Western society too , but not recently. Me, if someone hit my child I would make sure their life became a living hell.

5 years of suffering in LLTG? Yeah, it didn't make much sense to me either, though with suspension of disbelief I managed to swallow it :) . I thought writers were trying to make her come of age. She is 21 when they reunite, and he is 27. That makes more sense than 15 and 21. I thought chemistry between LW and ZLC was off the charts, but she was too young for 52 eps.

This is a public forum and *everybody* have the right to express their opinion and assumption any which way they want. I am her fan, and I think she, like very many other chinese actors, has become insanely, unhealthily thin. Whether that was the cause of her recent collapse or not, i don't know. But anorexic weight is a medical condition in and of itself. And nobody on this board has standing to tell other people to refrain from expressing their opinions.

Chinese actors of both genders are forced to be unnaturally thin. Thin to the point of looking freakish with distorted body proportions. It is cruel and unnecessary, and not particularly attractive. I am astonished more of them don't fall sick just from that. Poor Lu Si, she is such a talent! I wish her full recovery, rest, and much happiness.

I am enjoying the drama, but it is starting to have so many similarities with LLTG, I am tempted to rename it LLTG Light :)
