Another question: why aren't there other ethnicities where they're at? I only see white people and, of course,…
It looks like they filmed in Finland probably for the weather sake. It looks nothing like NYC that was in the book. Finland is not very multicultural, it is 96% white. Where would they get extras who are not white and why would they bother? Also Finns, as a rule, even if they speak English, speak with a very strong accent, 2 languages being very different. Hence 'bad acting'. It is very hard to act well in a language you don't have a mastery of.
Gods, LW is such a good actor! He managed to establish the character within first 2 minutes of entering the scene. I don't know how good, bad, or average the drama is going to be, but he is impressive.
I am on 4 ep and it is extremely slow. After 1 eps it feels they all have been eating and eating and eating for 3 hours straight .... It is like a travel ad video. Charming sets, beautiful views, folksy vibe, local talk, and nothing. It is getting really boring, and somehow feels there is a second agenda to this drama, a sort of advertisement to attract young people back to the villages .
Apparently scheduled for Viki on Feb 3rd (a day later) than it's official start date in China)
They probably will release it with automatically translated subs, most of which are total gibberish. It takes months for them to fix it, if they even do. I think I will wait till the end of the drama to watch.

Thank you for taking time to explain your point, but my question was not really about numbers. It was about about why global audience like different thinks from the Korean one. But I think we have discussed this enough.
I don't know why, but the whole execution reminds me of a teen novel adaptation from the 2010s (Fallen, The Mortal…
"which to me heavily implies that he's an angel..? " just as aside, Lucifer aka Devil aka Satan is , in fact, an angel. A fallen one but an angel nevertheless. An angel who was the most beautiful of them all and who rebelled agains God. They kind of taken both God and Devil out of the traditional Biblical iconography, but preserved the beauty, rebellion part and the disdain toward humans. So Gu Won rebelling against God and becoming a demon/angel makes sense.

I am sorry but what does population of the Earth and the rest of the your statistics have to do with what Korean viewers in KOREA and the audiences of the same dramas elsewhere like? You seem to be implying that anyone outside of Korea likes dramas because they don't know better, and the Koreans are the true judges of any k-drama's worth. If that is your point, it would be offensive if it was not so laughable, especially on a global forum. But whatever. Lets just A2D.

We do have statistics on worldwide vs. Korean viewership. It can be googled. Streaming services keep very close tabs on how many people watch what, that drives their business decisions. Secondly, global audience by definition is many times larger than Korean, Korea being relatively small country. K-dramas have gained extraordinary popularity in the US, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Turkey for instance. The US only KOKOWA alone got over 6MM subscribers jin just 5 years. Viki has over 75MM world wide - that is almost 1.5 Korean population. Granted Viki is not exclusively Korean but the Korean section is massive. And this just a tip of the iceberg. My feeling is the difference is due to cultural differences and values.

I loved the LB revenge plot, I just thought the string of crazed women in the end, all trying to kill NN and everybody in sight was unnecessary. There could have been a different way to get them reconciled without yet another hanging off a cliff or burning to death. In general I think plot twists became a little redundant by the end. As to humor, I think the drama had just enough humor in it to prevent it from becoming a major heavy tragedy . And it was humor, not grotesque and buffo which I personally can't stand much. But of course tastes differ.
Wu Lei did not disappoint 🥰 and Part 2 was significantly better than Part 1 BUT... Unpopular opinion: this…
I happen to disagree. The drama has that special something that makes it exceptional. I loved the pacing, the humor; and as to cut outs - there are close to a hundred characters, there is no way to explore them all. If anything I think drama overdid it with tying loose ends. I for one didn't need all that revenge stuff at the end. I think the storyline got muddled in the last 4-5 eps and the ending was too rushed, and not very satisfying to me. But overall I think it was exceptionally well done.
