dear diary, this is the year 2467 and I'm still waiting for this drama. I barely remember where my old comment…
I guess it takes time, A LOT OF TIME, to castrate- I mean to censor the drama. You know how every xianxia is being changed to pretend that the 2 male leads are not lovers and there's no romance between them - they are just "sworn brothers".
So I'm assuming that trying to do so with Hua Cheng might be problematic XD He reincarnated, waited 800 years and always do what he does just because Xie Lian saved him once and was nice to him when he was a child? And they can't make him an obsessive villain. It's bound to be hard.

Great topic! Thanks for writing it. However I'm not convinced Xiao Lanhua really fits here. I absolutely enjoyed this drama (more than once) and I appreciate her character development, but still for most of the drama she cannot be called "strong" from any point of view.
Let's compare her with Cheng Shao Shang, her place on this list is fully justified.

"i'm dating men because they're hot and i love their body. while with women i tend to put my feeling first then…
I can't even comprehend what he means with that. Like - really?? If it's as you say, and he's a playboy, then I guess it's a line for picking up girls. So they'll think if he starts "taking a step further" that automatically it means he has deeper feelings for them.

I'm not into reality shows that much but since Netflix promoted it on the main just as I logged in - I'll give it a try.

Dafak?! :O

It's fine if we have different opinions :) Just sharing here:D
I somehow forgot that other relationships aren't tolerated in omegaverse. But do they exist in the plots? And how about heterosexuals? Are they somewhere out there in the back or omegaverse authors totally don't pay attention to them?

I guess I'm not convinced about the homophobia here because I don't suspect omegaverse maker for such deep and complex covering their homophobia ;) I still think it's just reflecting (based on and twisted) the reality when some relationships are "wrong" just because someone doesn't understand it, want it or from procreative point of view only.

Maybe the feminisations in omegaverse (and many yaoi, sadly) come from the fact the authors are women, often rather young so what they can know about romance between two men? (There are quite a few reasons why they still write and draw it, but I don't wish to dilate on it here)

I've read it! (one of those 40 translated versions;)) Thank you for reminding me about Shikanoko. I remember I wanted to read it but there's about a year till it was published then.

Thanks for the explanation! An interesting species omega is ;)

Another thought has come to my mind. This universe is a porn genre. Simple as that - there's no need to argue with how thoughtless it is. You know, when the plot is sensless, budget small and actually no one watch it for a deep story, but still they have their favourite "threads" like a specific setting or characters' occupations. And it looks to me that the threads in omegaverse are: emotionless, forced-but-pleasurable fucking (heat), pregnancy, a relationship which is based on "we can't control it" aka "we don't need to make decisions" or "we are unable to do so".

However I'm not convinced that the reason behing it is to make the stroy "less gay" or any homophobic one (like someone here wrote).

Looks like it's a really weak movie since actually no one is talking about it hereXD but there's a huge battle about omegaverse.
Reading that omegaverse is NOT yaoi was liberating, so true. Also it has nothing to do with LGBTQ+. It should be marked as "fiction" or "fantasy" (maybe with "dark" at the beginning).

There's only one thing I'm curious about, maybe someone with more knowledge in this area can enlighten me. Since omega can give birth, so where exactly does the baby came out? Through the anus? So the fetus grows somewhere in the intestines? Is there a specific space, linked to them, for that purpose? What's its name? I only briefly read about omegaverse and I recognized it's not my cup of fantasy, but that one thing has kept me wondering. Because every fiction should be well planned, otherwise there will be a loophole. And without an actual place for giving birth by omega how can the plot even stick?

All the things in this article are interpretable, there are no facts presented just interpretations, so I can…
I agree. There's nothing that points it's a racism. In any of these cases. But I guess "Korean celebs met racism in the West" will click better than "Korean celebs met douchebags in the West" (the paparazzi) or "there was a misunderstanding with the security guards".

Title Our Blues
some people are saying dong seoks stories were too longWhyyyyyWhyyy you all.......I loved him the most and it…
I also don't understand it... How it was "too long"? I think each charater got their stories a proper amount of time, not to long not too short.
However in my opinion some parts felt slightly dragy on the screen, like Yong-ju fighting with her father - I thought "come on, how long are you going to deprecate your supposedly very-much-loved daughter? You ought to be on her side. And Dong-seok mourning... I didn't want to cry my eyes out ;__;

Title Our Blues Spoiler
can you expand on what scenes you found heavy? what were the plot lines? please feel feel to spoil away too! thanks!
Depression, mother's dying (and her problematic relation with her son), some beating, fathers' reactions to their teen's pregnancy (again, some beating and throwing the daughter out), one of the characters' sister has a severe down syndrome.
Probably some more scenes could be called "heavy", I tried to spoil as little as possible;)
Still I highly recommend this series!

I think the make up is supposed to be reflective of her as a phoenix. I would say try to watch till episode 9…
You niggle just over the fake eyelashes while I pointed bigger contact lenses too. Whole eyes make-up looks very heavy with thick eyeliner. It just irks me. But adjani has had a point that it might be made to resemble a phoenix.
I prefer demonic type of make-up like Dongfang Qingcang, Tantai Jin or Run Yu <3 From "Till the end of the moon" Sang Jiu was a marmaid at some point with a glitter make-up and nothing seemed out of the place.

But, what about the lipstick?:D I haven't noticed anything special :D

It depends what you're here to watch for. If its action/heavy plot, this drama isn't going to deliver that to…
Thank you, it's very helpful :) I gave it a try and didn't drop it after the first ep, bc it happend to me that I LOVED a drama which I wanted to drop at first XD but 4 eps is too long. No thread at this point looks interesting to me. Just not my cup :)

I'm on the 4th ep and it's rather boring... will it get better? Or it's just not a drama for me.
I also don't like huge fake eyelashes of the main lead and I think she has wider black contact lenses... Every human looks like a robot that way - I have no idea why they do that.

Oh, I've exactly that kind of hopes until.... now -> you mind mark it as a spoiler?^^''
Not everyone read tags before watching and there might be "romance" between another couple - I know it's rare but sometimes female lead doesn't end up with the prince. I thought it might be this case. Since it's really slow burn you can allow for the possibility the romance and the drama will be with Sung-on or she will stay, but not as a eunuch, near the prince while he will marry a suitable princess.

alright i finally got to watch this and i definitely understand the hype.. this is so good honestly i want to…
I've finally started it too, but I don't understand the hype... Too cute, too naive for me I guess. Dropped after 8th ep. Also all these "cherry magic" is not my thing... despite I do like some fantasy and super powers from time to time.
