I agree mostly ;) but maybe "just a mess" is a little too much. Many of their problems were just thrown one after another and it wasn't that convincing.
Wanting a child bc your parents want it? :O Although "the blood thing" was portrayed pretty good.
Cliché about alcoholic (non)cheating...
But the worst was the mother's reactions in the second half. So fake, dramatising and it was dragged for way too long.
Now when I'm reading it it looks like I didn't liked it XD However I rated is as 6,5 which is not that bad.

Ok, it's "loosely based on a novel, Chinese style" rather than a "remake". I would say the basic story got "purified", if I wanted to be gentle, and "castrated" if I wanted to be mean ;)

After all, and unexpectedly, I really enjoyed this drama. It's good, well played, pleasant ost (despite the child's singing), I got used to Duo Duo - a worthy alternation of Meng Tongtian - and then liked her a lot. It was more family orientated drama, which was also interesting and I was glad they didn't go for a senseless, dark relations. Rather problems with improvement. However I'd have added some more scenes of Su Yu and his dad, bc I loved it in the original.
Strong 8 from me! Waiting for the 2nd season.

Agree. That's who Gu Hai is. The main point is that Bai Luo Yin is strong enough take it. In "Addicted" it was well potrayed in the kidnap scene. He was not afraid of Gu Hai, he was greatly pissed off.
Sadly the drama makers didn't grasp the moment when Luo Yin stopped struggling that much when Gui Hai tried to stay close to him or kiss him. He's pulling away from him too desperately^^'
But then - yeah I still hate the author for the rape scene. Totally unpardonable, out of the character even, and unnecessary. I pretend it didn't happen to enjoy the whole story, which is quite long. Therefore when I say I'm addicted to "Addicted" it doesn't mean I forgave the author destroing a great story.

It was.... bad. The story is rather weak, the execution worse.
I wonder if it's only me but in every Korean BL drama all I can feel between main actors is awkwardness. I don't know if they're pushing themselves of someone is making them to take this kind of roles. It's clear to me that either they don't want to play gays or they just can't do that.

Just count me in Wen Ke Xing fanclub :D Great character, the actor perfectly fits to the role, I love his micro facial expressions and his actor's skills in general, he can pull out even effusive parts without overdoing them. Oh and his fashion sense too! :D
I really liked A-Xiang too. Since it's the same actress I felt her character is more like younger Han Hui here than in original "Back from the brink" (aka "Heart protection") XD
I also greatly enjoyed "sweet details" (you can find it on YT): all those poems references, symbols and other small details which are easy to be missed when you try to keep up with subtitles that are shown for less than 1 sec XD

Actually what JTBC did might be offensive now to all viewers - that they are bunch of morons who can't distinguish between a fiction and reality, just saw "one Arab in a drama" doing something and thought "oooh, so that's how they behave" "their CULTURE is about princes drinking while surrounded by women".

I think all of it might be because of "the prince matter" only.

If I ever come back to it I'll definitely notice you ;D However if more than a half of a drama is rather weak I don't have hopes.

A hilarious drama, definitely, one can have a heartily laugh from time to time. But I'll call it "an old-school drama" too. Which means there are many dragged teary scenes, or just dragged. Some overdramatic. And other with kinda stiff dialogue. But it's ok to watch once in a while ;)

To the point: if you want something only relaxing, funny and happy I wouldn't recommend this drama. Although there're many hilarious moments when you can laugh your ass off. The main plot is about sudden death of two ppl who each has his own story behind it and there're ppl who were left behind (alive I mean, missing those dead). And those threads intertwine through the whole drama.

And it's not about "if it would make you sad at some point" but "it WILL make you sad from time to time".

I don't like what they did to the original story. I didn't expect the drama to be so... childish.

Dropped after 26 ep.

I've finally finished it! Altough I liked it the drama was draging a little too much, esp last 10 episodes. Also I couldn't enjoy never-ending hate-love-deceive vicious circle.
I did enjoy: Luo Yun Xi's acting and stunning looks ;) as well as Bai Lu's, and gorgeous Sun Zhen Ni; most of the plot, special effects and detailed costumes.

I've forgotten to write (and I almost lost my comment in the flood of comments hereXD) that there're things I'll remember while thinking of this drama: BLOOD SPITTING and BLOODY TEETH. It was waaay too much of these. As a matter of fact I believe we could've been spared of the view of bloody teeth altogether. As for the blood spitting - less woud've been better and the blood should've been more runny so we didn't have to see some of it dangling from Luo Yun Xi's beautiful face...

I'm guessing the hype comes from the fact that the drama is the first thai lesbian drama. And the actors are pretty ;) (like in most thai dramas)
I've started it out of curiosity, but it couldn't hook me in. After 5 eps I put it on hold and I'm wondering if it's a drama about working adults or teenagers at school... (hitting esp to the fb and stickers matter) Also normally it'a just too stupid an inappropriate for a boss to invite a new worker to her house "to work", ending up sleeping in the same bed... As well as grabbing the worker's chin in the office.
Now I think I'll just drop it XD

"Trauma porn" - on target XD 6.5 for me too, which I regard is far from "bad". The drama has its good points however there's much space for improvement.

One last note: I saw there's quite an uproar about the official English translation. Some wrote it's rather poor. The one online was made by a teenager (I admire her for the amount of work she did). Since I'm not an English native and haven't even read the official one (yet) I cannot comment on that. Just wondering how are the other official translations (like German, Italian, French) and hoping the publishers won't be lenient with quality (I hate the art from the English version, sorry I had to write it somewhere) in the future just because it's "some webnovel".

I wasn't interested in the novel bc of its title (yeah I knowXD) but now I think I'm gonna give it a chance.
Also what a great shock I've just taken to learn Luo Yun Xi is going to play the lead here. I like him from Ashes of love :))

You're welcome:) I love the plot! In my opinion the whole novel is very well-thought-out, also side-stories are interesting, for example Xiao Xingchen's story - my fav aside the main plot. Sadly the drama cut a few things (which I know is bound to happen when making an adaptation) like a half of Xue Yang's story when he was a child, or why SiSi was spared, whose body was buried in the Guanyin temple in the first place, oh and the second battle on Burial Mounds.

What cracked me up however was the abundance of Chinese names, courtesy names and titles, sometimes very similar like XingChen and XiChen... Also I was expecting it to be BL (which it is ofcXD) but for a long time nothing was happening. So long that I've felt I was tricked and someone oversensitive tagged it as BL. But then it's changed its course...XD
I'm not happy with everything the author wrote or how she wrote but I definitely find it worth of reading and re-reading even.

I'm not sure if you've heard there's an official printed english version (there's also a few other translation). On Tuesday volume 5 has had its premiere :)
