They hug and cuddle so sweetly💖 But it feels so cringy in more intimate scenes🫣 thus I totally don't miss them (those scenes). Some events esp. closer to the end disappointed me - like ploting against Xiao Shuai, the end of the talk in prison, making a pool (?) in the street. But the plot, the logic here are generally... strange XD As I'm reading the novel for comedic purposes, I'm glad the talks about "sweating ass" that can "soak the sheets" were removed XD
Oh, I haven't expected to cry a river! When the tags become more and more specific, it should also be addressed.
And so binary arc of brain tumor = instant death if he'll keep composing music, and longer life if he won't, was…
I thought that a brain surgery could kill him or severely damage his functionality in general. It was just very risky to do it, that's understandable. However ppl wanted him to abandon music and literally lock him up a room, guarding the door, as it could've prolonged his life for years. Cancer, treating issue, loosing music knack, it all makes sense, but the execution was stupid; focusing on what I wrote above.
I had high expectations, but this title didn't live up to them. However I can praise beautiful camerawork. Music is also a strong part. I'm disappointed with genius' vocals - rather bland. Toya was better here. Another disappointment was Akane falling in love with Naoki. OK, I wasn't surprised and still had hoped she'll get rejected and move on, but sadly...^^' I thought it'll be a music orientated drama, with some life topics here and there, and there was a lot of music, but as someone has pointed it out, the band's progress was way unnatural, too quick.
I wadn't convined with Sato Takeru's acting. My last drama with him was "An Incurable Case of Love" - which was hoooorible. And the characters he's portraying in both of them are quite similar. He might've overacted lone-genius-freak.
I'd like to praise the voice actor of Gu JiuSi - I don't know if it's Bai Jing Ting or someone else. Especially when he made formal speeches e.g. adressing the emperor. The pronunciation, diction, masterfulness. Everything was perfect! I've seen some historical/costume Chinese dramas and it's the first time I notice that. OK, the voice of DongFang QinCang has also left long-lasting impression ;) but more just by its timbre, while here we had full package.

Thanks! Now I have 3 translations to choose :D Maybe recently, after many years the ones emerging are better? I remember reading Addicted and it happened to be very poorly translated😅 Many repeated expressions, sentences where I had no clue what they are about... But I've found a better one later!💪🏻 (so maybe finally I'll read it XD)

Hmm who translated the one you've skimmed? I've the one from Anne Noh - some words are surprising but not that it's unreadable. Sadly it vanished and I could found up to 183 ch. Other than that I have Rao Ink's. You know what helps reading English fan translations? Not being English native speaker 😁 And indeed, an awful translation can make a hopeless book even worse💀 That's power!

For me that redemptation from Chai Ji Dan encouraged me to at least start the novel 😋 I haven't read much yet, just passed the 30th chapter. But one thing - it's not like the drama is that much coherent and logical😂 It's Zi Yu's cuteness that compensates eveything.🩵🩵🩵
It’s up to you. If you are, here you go: https://www.wattpad.com/user/raoink/conversations#1993752717
Thank you so much! The one I've started vanished suddenly and the ebook I've found has only 183 chapters. Although the translator is different, you're a life-saver🙏🏻
its tough being a dude in South Korea. Its that patriarchal demon on everyone's neck!
I gave you "like" bc it's tough both being men and women. However still women have it worse... (I don't mean to start an argument here, just sharing an opinion)

P.S. Nice OST. Check out the discussion topic.

Short, on point comments are the best!
