The first scene threw me off, as I thought she was the bride sitting in front of the mirror, as its Esther's voice, but then thought, how the heck did she change so quick and come in from the outside?! I literally watch the scene thrice, and paused it to ensure that YSW and the bride was in the same frame lol.

It's the 4 Gongs... Before it moves, in north postion you have the chinese character "Gong", followed by the four other parts/ departments of Gong Men being Yu, Jue, Shang, Zhi (dunno which order though!)

I thought the Elders would have been from the same bloodline - Gongs too, since this is so important to Gong Men but guess there are other familes/ tribes. At the first trial, the guy said his last name is "Xue"... and so Xue Elder's descedants. I wasn't expecting other surnames/ tribes/ family lol.

I haven't finished the latest episode yet but it seems like the Elders see that GZY has/ or at least gradually will have qualities of a good leader/ sword wielder. Yue Elder said that he's kind hearted, he remembers everyone's names regardless of their status in Gong Men and people like/ adore him. And the fact that he chose to "give up" the trials in the back mountains because of Yue's Elder's death only reinforces this or at least for Yue Elder's sake, that he wasn't wrong to have faith in him. While on the other hand you have GSJ and GYZ not recognising (or rather, choose to ignore perhaps?) the reason he left the trial was because of Yue Elder's death. Surely they would realise this only paints a bad picture of them (GSJ and GYZ) and maybe they already saw his cold-heartedness (pretty sure we will get more back backstory to better understand GSJ) way back, leading them to choose GHY as the first heir after his Father, albeit GSJ was the better of the two in the trials. He doesn't have the qualities to be a leader for their people - for Gong Men whereas GZY has that potential?

Yeah, same. I'm also quite surprised that so many people like her character. Always feel like she's leeching info from YWS and at the same time trying to get rid of her or waiting for her to mess up and expects (that if and when YWS fails) she will protect SGQ on her way out.

Is it correct that save for Gong Huan Yu and Gong Zi Yu are siblings, the rest (e.g. Gong Zi Shang, Gong Shang Jue etc.) are simply cousins? Gong Zi Yu calls Zi Shang "jie jie" so casually but she falls under Shang, presume they grew up together - Yu and Shang kids being close and Jue and Zhi being close and they have some beef with each other.

I can't help but notice how dramas with these once arguably top martial arts hero ML (top of their league, adventured Jianghu, did this, done that), lose their martial art skills, left with a limited amount but still retain their excellent qinggong, seen through life and just want to take things easy and clearly aware of their short life span just turn out to be pretty good dramas! A bit of a sucker for these type of ML characters now XD
