The fighting scenes are not too bad, but not at the forefront. And there have been times when I felt there's going to be a fight scene or fight is going to get even more intense but it just stops, moves onto the next shot to show it's all over/ or just passes - a little anti-climatic.

If you like good classic fight scenes I would suggest Side Story of Fox Volant being a fairly recent drama.

I haven't watched the latest episodes yet but I have a feeling that Wen Lao isn't as good as he seems... but yeah, all hearsays at the moment.

Haikou, Hainan.

1. LW at the Wang Ke Gong mansion - who sent him there? Was he just there purely to steal? Who told him of the secret exit (bricks on the wall?).
2. The brocade guard who sneakily followed LZ and LW by boat and on land towards the last couple of episodes and at the scene where LZ declared if LW doesn't reveal who the night spies are, then he is one of them and then the brocade then disappeared, is he that brocade guard that's always by LZ's adopted Father's side?
3. If LZ's father killed LZ's birth father and asking where the YuMing Lock is, it seems that he was on Lord Yan's side, because if he was devoted to this current Emperor, he wouldn't have demanded to know it's whereabouts right? LZ's birth father and Wang Ke Gong kept it's whereabouts a secret to avoid further bloodshed and instability of the current Emporer's position.
4. So ZJQ loved YZD? Even after knowing he used her and the downfall of her family was because YZD's Dad (Li Yan) wanted to save him.
5. Was ST interested in he real LDF romantically before she met LW? I get that she was repaying him with her life as she felt she owed it to him. Seems like he treated her like family, to an extent.
6. Si Xiang Nan was a good guy since he never sent those instructions etc. and it was LZ's Dad who used his stamp but then why did he stop LZ when he put a sword by LDF's neck in the imperial prison?
7. Was LDF really the secret son of Lord Yan? Because ST said something long the lines of "I know you're not" when he stabbed her?
8. And the ending is that Lord Yan won? LZ is working as brocade guard for Lord Yan as the current Emperor? The ending didn't really wrap up things!

So glad I'm not the only one that was confused every now and then. Interesting watch nonetheless.

Didn't think LZ and LW had the best chemistry but yeah.

LZ's arguably short lived love interest towards ZJQ was unncessary imo.

There was some scenes/ reveals that I expected to have been executed better, like when LW found out LZ was the boy he'd been searching for was somewhat anti-climatic and same with when ZJQ found out about ST's identity.

It was a bit weird when things were getting heated in the imperial prison (the scene with SXN, LYL, LW, LZ and LDF) and then an edict comes and everything just comes to a standstill XD. The imperial edict sure comes at awkward times in this drama, fairly sure this happened more than once in this drama!

I have questions and if anyone could shed any light that would be great:

Ngl, I fast forwarded the parts with Qi Mu and Hong Hong.

Hoping we'd get more development on Zhu Zhe with her work and in the romance department. She truly deserves to enjoy life and be loved and spoilt by someone who will stand by her through thick and thin. Feel bad for her having such nasty and ungrateful siblings forever leeching off of her to then have the audacity to say it's her fault they/ he (namely brother - according to the previews/ teasers) has become what he is because of her!

Sammmee! I tried to watch it but just wasn't interested and thought the FL had adapted to her new surroundings (completely different era) too quickly with hardly any transition from what I recall. I think I dropped at the second episode.

I thought their voices aren't dubbed? As in, their original voice is picked up as they shoot? It doesn't sound dubbed?

First time watching DYX and his acting is good!

Really enjoying so far. The plot isn't complicated but it's got good pacing. Really disliked NYX at the beginning but his character is now starting to grow on me.

One thing that's a bit weird is til now (I'm not very far in, I haven't watched the latest episodes) but she hasn't remembered anything, like nothing has triggered anything from the past.

I just watched episode 1 having no knowledge of what it's all about - watched the trailer maybe months ago/ weeks ago (I don't even know if I did actually now, maybe just saw promo pictures ahaha) and definitely not read the synopsis. So far I'm intrigued. But now that I've read the synoposis, I thought, maybe I shouldn't have so I could experience the reveal as it unfolds (I just spoiled myself XD!)

The music confuses me lol. I know it's used to set the mood. Take the scene where she sees him for the first time after the fall, and they're bickering/ talking, one point the bgm is soo serious and then jumps to being very playful and it keep going back and forth and I'm like, so, am I supposed to take this scene seriously or more lighthearted lol!

PXR also pulls off this playful role really well. I've only watched her in Jun Jiu Ling and her character is very different there.

That supermarket lady's son (stalker) is really annoying. I hope he doesn't do anything bad.

I couldn't agree more. I haven't watched to the latest episode, but in episode 9 when he took Sun Xin to the place to explain his plans and in the end she put her head on his shoulders... I was like "Huh? Are they an item now?". He will always be there for her. But she's not ready to commit and will probably only do so when he's able to prove to her he can give her the life she wants. And he knows that too.

Yeah, Wu Jiang and her are probably more compatible but I don't think, as of now (ep 9) she has any feelings for him. I don't like how he's so persistent XD but that's because I prefer Xiao Yu for Sun Xin, though they're not really compatible. Oh the dilemma! Lol

Yeah likely to finish off and tie up lose ends that season 1 didn't. But I'm so glad there is a second season. Other dramas that end similarly sometimes never get closure with a second season :(.

Yeah, did his Schedule clash with this? Because at the very beginning there was a video of all the main casts somewhat teasing/ promoting the upcoming season and I thought I had saw Bruce also make an appearance in it?

Xing Fei's character is 27.

I don't know the other 2's ages but on douban, they've been described as one born in the 90s, 80s and 70s respectively.

Ditto. The issue may be because there are a few writers (or so I heard)? I also find the story a little slow. I haven't finished it yet but after 2/3 cases I thought they'd be more clues on the main culprit(s) but nothing much. So the cases aren't fully closed and I presume they would all be concluded at the very end but expected them to drop some vital clues to keep viewers piqued, but yeah.

Not quite. All three seem to be more career driven; they all work in the same department at the same company. It explores the challenges women face at work and at home, trying to strive in the city I guess? They're also not like, bestfriends though AX and YW may be heading towards that direction...

I initially thought I would drop this as it was a slow start. I wasn't too fond of AX, and XX's storyline was a little boring. But I'm actually enjoying it so far.

I really like YW, her character is very relatable.
