you often get females having to disguise as a guy in ancient dramas, but it's the other way round here. They actually chose to use a female play a real guy. Which is clever because they want to make the academy arc more realistic. Initially, I kept on thinking, he's faking it. WY is really a girl but has to disguise herself as a guy, but nope, it's the other way round.

Oh I have to say, I'm very surprised at the casting of LMT for WY because...

I feel like it may also be a tactic to get MX to marry him as he knows MX may sacrifice her marriage for FY's sake. I've seen scenes in the OST MVs of them getting married but just didn't expect to to be so soon but it makes sense, since we're more than halfway through the drama and they need to spend more time together for the love line to develop.

Looking forward to the angst and tears between MX, WJG and CWD. CWD's gonna get hurt - I've seen clips and he was saying something like "If I were to treat you like he (WJG) treats you, would you return my love?". :'(

Sammmeee... I don't want any lovey dovey moments between FY and WJG. I think in the end WJG might reciprocate her feelings because of her perseverance. But yeah. if it has to happen, then please don't happen until like the very end but better yet, never at all XD!

Exactly, I'm surprised BFY hadn't brought up the contents of his Will to him, or at least say, "I didn't realise you were so much in love with me?". Like, she was curious initially so why didn't she ask... sigh.

Yeah I agree, his Mum read between the lines and was trying with all her might to show him how disapproving she would be if it were MX. While at the end of the day they just wanted him to get married and continue the bloodline, MX could've taken FY's spot but yeah, things can't be that simple in dramaland as we all know - MX's background, FY's official status, and having received the King's edict for the marriage.

I'm actually the opposite to you. I feel bad for MX in this love triangle. Yes, she should have revealed it much earlier on that she and WJG are in love to FY but now that they're married there's no point anymore. I guess WJG ultimately didn't love MX enough. Plus, MX is letting it go now. If she were to bring this up now, it'll only hurt FY (though I suspect it will be revealed some way or another). So I feel for MX more.

I was going to drop this series around episode 3 or 4 coz I didn't find the chemistry between MX and JG that great and didn't really know where the story was heading. Stopped for almost a week and only recently decided to pick it up again and then suddenly around ep 8 things starting progressing super fast and it got interesting. The academy arc so far is (I'm on ep 11) intriguing. Hope things stay at this speed.

Re: relationship between MX and JG, I suspect when he comes back later, their relationship will strengthen and chemistry might be off the charts and I'll get second male lead syndrome ahah!

I often need to be in the mood for super heavy romance centred dramas, but now really want to see how the leads relationship develops. I know CWD will grow on me and I will be torn between the two (CWD and JG) but will end up rooting for CWD, while MX and JG relationship will just be a bittersweet memory. Hope FY doesn't turn spiteful.

She does look very different and from the posters it looks like the makeup/ costume team did a good job.

Who's Mary? Xuan Xuan? Why you calling her Mary? I think in the first episode when QSL was seen disinfecting her hands after she's parked the bike to pick XX up, the sign in the background says "... kindergarten". I watch it without english subs so not sure how the chinese is translated. So to me, it just seems like she was simply late picking XX up on her last day and that kindergarten.

I'm only like half way through episode 3 and on the same wavelength as you re kids not being their biological kids. So like, maybe Chen Chen is SHY's brother and sister in law's kid. And the sister in law is QSL's sister's kid. And the kids are twins? Because didn't the DNA test result reveal that Xuan Xuan is deffo Song's family's kid?

What does 三分野 mean? As in a % of ambition (野心)? Lol. Mando is not my first language... and I can't think of what else it could mean in canto?

Did they reveal who the real SYN is? And how FL came about adopting her identity?

So she likely lied about being taken in and brought up by WC. Well, FL possibly lied that it was her. The real SYN may indeed have been brought up by WC. We shall see! Really curious to know about the real SYN. Thanks both

At one point i thought maybe the real SYN was a friend of FL. I actually rewatched the scene when YX tried to save WC and before he died, he peeped through to watch SYN fighting but I don't think her face was visible so he could have mistaken FL as the real SYN. Also when WC was locked up and YX mentioned SYN he didn't really respond. And at that scene when YX was piggy backing WC avoiding the baddies she wasnt very fast to help. But on second thought maybe she was just trying to figure out whats happening before taking action...

Anyways if FL does have two identity, can someone spoil me on how she got this fake/ second identity? Its seems like she grew up with her brother? But then WC apparently brought her up and she only left his side in the last 3 years? How does that work? Or was she a mole at such a young age for the LY sect? Or she lied about all this?

I started watching it as eps on another drama hadn't been released and I'm somewhat hooked now.

Before I started, I somehow assumed it was super lovey dovey and cheesy but was pleasantly surprised to find ML previously hurt due to love/ betrayal and now won't love again (let's not speak too soon XD) and FL is not the annoying type and seems to developing feelings first. Most dramas these days, I find the FL falling for the ML first. It's a nice change. And the pace is just right.
