I finally decided to watch this drama. Iām only at episode 3, and Iām already disappointed ā itās not scary at all. What a shame⦠š
I really loved the creepy, unsettling atmosphere in the novel. Thatās honestly about 95% of the whole experience. Removing that in the live adaptation just feels like a complete waste. If they didnāt want to make something scary, then they shouldnāt have adapted it in the first place.
The āscaryā scenes in the first story are honestly ridiculous. I donāt even feel like laughing (even though some people do at that part). Iām just⦠so disappointed, honestly š¢
I don't mind this kind of action, specially with So Ji Sub being the lead. However, it wasn't as great as i was…
"I guess i should have known when i saw it's a Netflix show." I feel you. Whenever I see an Asian drama produced by Netflix, I already know it wonāt be good, so I usually avoid it. Sometimes my curiosity gets the better of me and I give one a chance anyway, but I almost always end up disappointed⦠which is ironic, since my expectations were already low.
I really wanted to watch it because of Tee (I haven't seen him since Triage), but unfortunately this series doesn't seem like my cup of teaāI couldn't even watch past the first five minutes. *Sigh š
Iāve only seen the first episode of the donghua, so I canāt really compare both versions yet. However, I still…
"I don't really like watching the same story in different remakes."
I understand, I feel the same. Thatās why I prefer adaptations that arenāt 100% faithful to the original. This way I can still be surprised by some things instead of feeling like Iām just watching the exact same story again. Sometimes there are only small changes, and other times the story can be quite different, but as long as the essence of the universe remains, it still works for me.
Anyway, good luck deciding between the two šš„°
What do you recommened to watch? This or anime version?
Iāve only seen the first episode of the donghua, so I canāt really compare both versions yet. However, I still think you should give this drama a chance.
At first, you might find Cheng Xiao Shi annoying and dislike him because of his childishness, but he grows a lot as the story progresses. His character matures pretty quickly. The same goes for Lu Guang. In the beginning, he is very cold, almost like nothing really matters to him, but little by little he softens, opens up, and becomes more human.
As for the rest of the story⦠itās really heartbreaking. Iām currently on episode 16 and Iāve been crying since episode 3. Each story teaches something and hits you in a different way. You slowly grow attached to the characters ā not only the main ones, but the side characters too. You start caring about them, their lives, their struggles, and what theyāre going through. Before you realize it, youāre completely invested in their stories and crying alongside them or about their fate.
I really think you should give it a chance and form your own opinion. Maybe try watching it as a drama inspired by Link Click rather than expecting a 100% faithful adaptation. That way you might enjoy it more and avoid being disappointed.

where can I watch this.I tried watching it on kissasian and drama cool but quality is worse. I searched all over…
Sorry for the late reply. At the time, I watched it on MyAsianTV. I couldn't find it in high quality either, but I don't really mind 480p videos. It actually felt a bit nostalgic, like the old days š
I don't remember the last episode very well since it's been a while, but I understand how you feel. I felt the same when I watched "He's Coming to Me". I was a bit disappointed by the happy ending and honestly wished it had a sadder one.
They just felt like stranger, no emotional connection at all.
At first,it was interesting, but it went downhill quickly.
