Do you mind giving me 1 good reason on why you arencalling sm that?
The production had to release a statement bc of how absolutely vile ppl have been to the contestants. I don't understand how these ppl can be so vicious when none of the men have done anything that warrants this amount of hate. These are real people dealing with real emotions. They're not going to be perfect. And just because someone doesn't respond to a situation in a way that you like, it doesn't mean that you should brand them as "manipulative" and "scheming". I just wish people could be normal.
The eps are too short! Off looks absolutely scrumptious btw. How does he get finer and finer each passing year? And gun is an actual vampire, we will never see him age. Loved Jane and Baimon giving Pie another chance and recognizing her talent. If all internships had mentors like them, the world would be a much better place.
The story is so good that I'm willing to forgive the frequent production mistakes. I am a little disappointed that it seems that they rushed through filming tho.
Okay finally dropped this 8 minutes into ep 6. I was hoping that it would improve but each ep gets worse and worse. What is the plot? I think mame knows that she’s incapable of writing interesting well thought out stories with believable characters so she just hooks viewers with NC scenes and hopes that will carry the show. Unfortunately, she’s gained success using this formula. It’s my fault for giving this show a chance despite knowing she’s involved. Mame also seems to be in a competition with herself to write the most annoying female characters to ever appear on screen. I feel bad for all the actors involved cuz they can’t do anything with the material they’re given.
Also this is just my opinion. If you like the show, good for you.
It baffles me that the same watchers... viewers who give this series (without truly explaing why it is so bad)…
Sunset vibes is a 3 (dropped it), love sea is a 6 at best, century of love is atleast an 8 imo. We all have different tastes we don’t all have to like the same things. We’re blessed to have so many options.
Mostly the 180° personality switch from those who had no mercy before. And the audacity of Ming’s dad to pull…
EXACTLLYYYY! Tong's behavior since the last ep makes absolutely no sense. They should atleast explain why he had a change of heart. And even then, we've been waiting for the moment Tong is punished for all he's done but basically nothing happens to him. It's so unsatisfying and it's ridiculous that everyone moves on from the trauma Ming and Tong have brought unto Joe. It would've been slightly better if it was Ming that took the bullet for Joe. I'm just really disappointed with how they resolved things.
I think we’ll get a steamy scene in The Boyfriend. 😏
Korea is very conservative so we won't ever get anything steamy from these shows, even their straight shows are the same. The most you'll get is a peck and hand holding
Started off so good but gave us the most unsatisfying ending. The past 2 eps feel like they were written by someone who hadn't watched anything that happened to that point. I had to skip so many parts in the last ep just to get through it because I was so pissed that Ming and Tong just basically get away with everything they've done. I was hoping to witness the downfall of Tong atleast but they gave him that bs "redemption arc" if you can even call it that. It doesn't even feel like he's the same character, cuz they spent the most of the eps building him up to be a ruthless selfish bastard then he suddenly turns into a completely different person halfway through ep 11. I couldn't even care about Joe anymore cuz he just seems like a masochist atp. Disappointed cuz this show could've been a 10 if they didn't drop the ball in the ending.
Finally dropped this cuz I couldn't force myself to watch the latest ep. I forced myself through last week's ep and honestly I think this show would be better if it ended at 8 eps. It's just dragging at this point. I thought they'd get together after the first kiss, I don't understand why they're dragging this out. Dee is acting like a teenager when he's supposed to be pushing 30. Honestly the only reason I was forcing myself to watch past ep 8 is for Cher and O'yei. I wish they got more screen time, their story is way more interesting. It's unfortunate cuz I really love the entire cast so much and I can't wait for their future projects. I know GreatInn will probably get something next year and I realllly hope ThorFluke become a fixed couple. I'm just glad this show introduced me to Fluke. That man is stunnninnggg!
it's okay but it had the potential to be better. I think they should've spent a bit more time at the start really establishing who the characters are. It would've been nice to see what a regular day at the restaurant is like just so we can get more of a feel for who Oab is. Same goes for Plawan. All we know is that he's inconsiderate and directionless, which isn't a good enough character design to grip viewers. They could've put in a lot more care into costumes and set design as well. Everything feels a little generic, there's nothing distinct about the characters.
It feels like they're rushing through the story, maybe because it only has 8 eps. We're rushing into the moment where the 2 leads start working together, but I think the story would benefit from letting the scenes breathe a bit. It's just action, action, action without sparing time to show how the characters feel. A good reference would be the kdrama "Oh My Ghostess" which also revolves around a restaurant. That show does a good job of establishing the characters and setting before getting into the main plot of the show.
I am being harsher on this show than most bls I watch because I think the production house is able to do muchhh better. I believe the actors would also be able to deliver a strong performance. I hope this gets better in future eps.
love sea caters to the demographic that watches bl for nc scenes. They'll rate anything high as long as there's…
not that they'll rate anything high cuz it's gay (cuz most of the bl fandom usually doesn't appreciate realistic depictions of queer stories, maybe because the fandom is largely made up of straight women) but that shows that are focused on showing "ship moments" (sweet or racy scenes between their ships) usually get rated higher. Which has led these production houses to focus on jamming as many of those moments as possible, even if it means neglecting plot, character building, world building, etc. Character driven bls like the Trainee are just not going to rate as high. But regardless of the ratings, this show is looking really good and I'm excited to see how the story unfolds.
how is this rated lower than love sea (only watching for gl couple bc it’s so boring) ???
love sea caters to the demographic that watches bl for nc scenes. They'll rate anything high as long as there's nc scenes in it. Also suspecting that ppl are review bombing this cuz of fanwars cuz it definitely deserves higher than 7.7
Finally dropped this cuz I couldn't make it past ep halfway through ep 3. I get why other ppl like it, it's just not for me. Loved the Japanese version cuz it was short and sweet with meaningful dialogue and I think that's what this version is missing. I know Gemini and Fourth are excellent actors and I loved them in MSP and MLC. I'll check out their future projects. I also have to say the actress playing Mudmee is probably the most beautiful girl in the world like I'm actually stunned every time she's on screen.
Anyways, to the hardcore G4 stans in the comments throwing a tantrum anytime someone says they don't like this show, relax, smile a little. This is a forum for people to discuss their opinions, meaning people who don't like the show can share their opinions. This isn't a fanpage.
Thailand doesn't have to concern itself with producing quality work. Their BL industry churns out complete shlock…
Just jumping in here to say that this was the most interesting, normal, level-headed convo that's ever happened on this website. I'm used to seeing "you don't like what I like so I think you should die".
couldn't make it past half way through the 2nd ep. These production houses are getting too confident in fandom support that there's 0 effort in the plot. I'm not a mosbank fan so this literally has no draw for me. It's 2024 we get new bls every week, you would think they would atleast try to produce something good
The first episode is great - I really liked it, although when the pilot trailer came out I didn't have high hopes…
I'm really surprised by the lower rating, I'm suspecting that ppl are review bombing this on purpose. Cuz there's just awful shows out there that are rated better and this show is already so good
I really enjoyed this. I used to be in the camp of wanting offgun to play in more intense series like Not Me, but they do play those serious roles in their non bl projects. The first ep of this show already got me hooked. I can tell this will be my fav feel good show. Also love the rest of the cast!
Also this is just my opinion. If you like the show, good for you.
