You know what? It is not historical. Today there are still western celebrities and non celebrities helping the poor, helpless, and impoverished black people in Africa. Go ask the police to catch them and put them in prison for racism agaisnt Africa and lookng down on Africans.

You know what? Africa is the poorest continent in the world so basically in your logic, anyone outside Africa who goes to Africa help with something must be a racist looking down on Africa. Maybe UN should bar people from rich countries to go help in Africa. Yes, probably they shoudl do that to protect Africa from "racism".

You are just trying to point out at racism where there is none in this drama. It is just people helping people. But because the helper is asian you wanna argue that the drama is promoting the foreigner helping poor needy africans but in reality, there are thousands of foreigners helping africans in Africa in collaboration with locals. They don't care about race or skin color. And they know each other and respect each other to find solutions. You wanna call them racists because you are the one who focuses on skin color.

And in half of kdrama there are people who get drunk drinking soju so .basically all south Korea is full of Drunken people or are they racist against themselves?

The drama does not portray any good side or bad side about Africa. It just put a character in one reality on Africa.

Africa or Tibet or Chicago or Brasil it is the same thing. You are just making up a trial of intent against the drama. You want to allege it is racist promoting a sterotyped imagery of Africa but not true. There is nothing racist in this or degrading for Africa or africans.

So what you mean is that if the guy who helped drill a well for needy people in Africa was an African (in short a black guy from Mombassa or San Franciso) it would not be racism but because it is an asian guy or a white guy, it is racism of people who look down on Africa and to come to help them is a racist process of making them look bad?

So for a same work, if the guy is black, there is no problem but if he is asian or white, it is racism agaisnt black people? Are you not the racist one attaching your logic to the color of skin of the helper?

If you really think to go help in Africa when you are not black is racism then you should create an organisation to sue to court these people :

There is no racism in the portrayal of Africa.

Why should we? It is a key part of the plot since we want to know why he went to Africa. To please his fans? Redeem himself in front of a girl? Because he was threatened? .. It's a important part of his initiatory journey. My idea is that he went there for a dumb reason but he still learnt some lessons when he was there.

It is your fake outraged stance which makes no sense.

- If the drama put the ML in a monastery in Tibet you would say it is racist sterotype that Tibet is full of monasteries and monks
- If the drama put the ML in a shelter of homeless ppl in Detroit, you would claim that it is bad portraying of Detroit as full of shelters for homeless ppl.
- If the put the ML in Brasil to fight the deforestation, you would claim that it is a racist image of Brasil selling its forest.
- and so on...

Too many people here just looking for a fake cause to be outraged and to look like they are so great fighting for justice. But the reality is they are just attention seeker.

The events showed in the drama are just a depiction of one reality of Africa (known worldwide as the continent plagued with lack of access to clean water) in some place and used as a background for ML development. There is nothing which looks down on Africa or Africans by making a general statement about them.
