What it has to do with being black? Culture is not a static thing. It is a dynamic thing. It feeds itself from other cultures. Everything you design and make it yourself is born from your own understanding of your close world and the bigger world around you . The process of culture is an appropriation in itself. By the way dreadlocks originate as far as ancient people from Egypt and Iran and are not the property of any black people. Bob Marley and his friends made a cultural appropriation of these. You are the one who should go educate yourself and don't talk like that to people when you know nothing.
that guy with the dreads and the overall culture appropriation look needs to go, his first scene in the show was…
I live in Europe and there are plenty of white guys and girls and some asian girls too who wear dreads. What is the problem with that? Did they do that to insult people? No. Is that a crime? If this is a crime then you can go sue Italy because Pasta is a chinese culture appropriation and also France or plenty of western countries because eating kebab or wearing a beret are also culture appropriation.
OMG I knew this was going to be silly but it is worse, this is just crazy like in the chinese movie "Crazy Kung Fu". I really don't know what to think after this first ep. JCW failed with Melting Me Softly which had parts of sillyness carried up by secondary characters. But now he has decided to go even further and carry the sillyness himself... I have to laud him for taking risks for his career. KYJ is cute but... this drama won't hold 16 eps like this.
Can I ask about the ending? What happened ? Who ended up with who? Please spoiler tag.
In the end the two worlds the Kingdom and the Republic are reset as of 1994 date of the coup. All events and characters are erased. Only Lee Gon, Tae Eul and Jo Young survive. Lee Gon ends with Tae Eul. Jo Young is secretly dating an alternative version of Myung Seung Ha.
I actually do not think the age gap is the problem here. the real problem is we already too familiar with the…
Maybe she chose this drama to convince people that she is not a child actress anymore? Let's all hope for an alluring, bootylicious, exquisite, seductive Kim Yoo Jung.
ML didn’t know she was drugged tho. He thought it was consensual.
I believe if a man tries to have his way with a drugged woman, he will notice it's not consensual... In my country, doing it to a woman drugged or asleep is rape. But ok it will not be the first time dramas have wtf ideas and stories... like... the evil aunt in Law organise abduction and attempt murder with gun and ... nothing... she just gets away with it because it's "family".
This being said, I'll try this one. Just to see how they present it.
Seeing Lada have a job and take responsibilities and initiatives it makes her look a bit older. It's a good thing because the age gap is pretty big due to the style and situation of the ML.
Thank you for sharing your insight and point of view with me. Still I believe the part where 2020 Lee Lim reappears in 2020 KOC is inconsistent with what happened previously. At a point of time of 2020 when 2020 Lee Gon enters the portal of his forest in ROK and Lee Lim enters his one in his forest in KOC. They both travels to 1994.
Lee Lim is killed by 1994 Lee Lim. Lee Gon successfully saves young Lee Gon leaves the badge. He travels 4 months to find Tae Eul in her world at a point of time after the moment he jumped to 1994 and 2020 Lee Lim is dead. That's fact. So why after this time and Lee Gon, Jo Yeoung and Shin Jae go to the KOC they find a 2020 Lee Lim in the street? That makes no sense as this man was killed in 1994.
At that moment of the drama it was not clear if we are dealing with a loopohole in the time or a multiverse with many worlds and their time. In a case of loophole, 1994 Lee Lim who killed 2020 Lee Lim could not avoid to travel in the past. Because what is done is done and must happen again and again like in a loophole. In that case 2020 Lee Lim was killed in 1994 and could not appear in KOC in 2020 again.
Or we assume as it is said afterwards that it is a multiverse and 1994 Lee Lim is likely another Lee Lim created by the alteration of the 1994 events. He managed to travel throught time and worlds to find himself in the 2020 KOC of 2020Lee Gon who did the same thing. But this is not said by the drama and specially not at the time of the killing of 2020 Lee Lim by 1994 Lee Lim.
As you said, this drama failed to make a clear presentation of the facts to make people undestand what is happening. They just threw things at the audience thinking it was nicelooking and smart already but no, the audience did not accept that. At least the one who wanted consistency and coherence and had to fill the missing elements. Yes it was a pain to decipher all the messy events using my imagination to fill the gaps, cut loose ends and find a sense. Because along with this effort, the writing was worsening until the awfull ending. Yes, Luna, Shin jae, Jo Yeoung, Eun Sub, Nari, Myung Seung Ah... all had a happy ending but I could not care less as, except for Jo Yeoung, they are not the ones I rooted for during 16 episodes. They are alternatives ones. As for Lee Gon and Tae Eul, again, the ending for them is just nonsensical and ludicrous.
This drama looks very heavy, but it is produced by Studio Dragon and TVN - a conveyor belt factory of corny, sloppy-written…
The visuals of the trailers are stunning but I also hope the script is a great one and this does not disappoint. I surely do not wish KSY to fail for his comeback in drama as the lead like some other guys did recently.
That was just a rumor made up by fans. PSH and her agency said that she never received the offer for the role.
But for some reasons, even MyDramalist filled in that she was the main female lead. Looking at the trailers, I am glad the main actress is Seo Ye Ji. She looks mesmerizing.
The nerd in me loves this drama in its entirety. The cast, the directing, the production, the storyline, the screenplay…
They can live in the same world. Meeting your doppelganger don't do anything. Just another absurdity like plenty of others in this drama. The writer had no idea how to properly end the story. That ending is tasteless.
This being said, I'll try this one. Just to see how they present it.
