If Wu yelling out 'TANG SAN' regularly gets your goat to this extent, I have to warn you there is this one thing…
I can see the Orihime thing - I mean she definitely was a Daphne especially after the Holo arc where she literally got kidnapped. But I feel like Xiao Wu is just too clingy - which makes her annoying too me. I wished they made her a bit more independent so she doesn't seem like a puppy following it's master. But I mean I can also understand that people might like her character, after all everyone has their own likes & dislikes.
You know, you put up a pretty interesting point. I forgot about that pesky censorship thing - but I know there are C-dramas that portray people as like demons or immortals so wouldn't that be in the same line as a soul beast in a way? So, maybe they can show her being a soul beast - but to be honest I have no idea since censorship changes like everyday. And also it depends on them if they feel like it or not - must be hard on the people who make dramas.
But to your point on the relationship - if she was a soul beast she would be like 200+ years because most of the soul beasts are like either 100+ years or 1000 years. So if anything she would be older than Tang San by like A LOT lol. I mean I know parts of what happens because of people who read the novel & reading their comments - but I don't want to say because you might not take kindly to spoilers.
I honestly can't stand her always following Tang San everywhere - like I get it u need the screen time but is it possible for her now to be on the screen everytime Tang San is. I also like Ou Si Ka & Rong Rong's relationship lol. Maybe not as much as Mu Bai & Zhu Qing but they are also quite cute. My favorite ship though is the Master & Headmaster :D lol.
Tang San & his relationship with the Old guys. So far we have the 9 soul ring master who in the beginning wanted to kill him but now is like his new found bestie lol. While we have the giant 8 soul ring master - who also wanted to kill him but now considers him a master lol. I guess it's the Tang San charm - you go in wanting to kill him but come out loving him.
However, there is one old guy that just can't get over himself - the prince with long hair. He also wants to kill Tang San - but I honestly don't get his reasoning. Like okay his son got beaten by Xiao Wu but what does that have to do with Tang San? Seems to be a hater!
In the drama she isn't useless, she has saved Tang San so many times here. As for the team, it is still integrating.…
I know what you mean - by her saving someone. But I feel all the situations she has saved him, the reason started off because of her. Like her saving Tang San when he took in his 3rd soul ring. If she wasn't taken by the Titan Ape than Tang San would never have done that in the first place. That's why I feel like she does more bad than good.
Like Tang San disappeared & the first thing Xiao Wu does is attack the school - even though she has no real information if he is there. Which just placed her entire friends & teachers in a bad situation.
I understand in the anime she had extra character development - but in this drama I feel like they took those parts out which just makes her insufferable to me.
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
Ahhh okay. So even though she is counted as a soul beast her children would not - that's interesting. I would have assumed they would at least be considered half & half like in most anime. I guess they deviated from that a bit.
Thank you for answering my questions about the original source material :)!
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
Ahhh I see - unless they decide to make it more PG-ish they could maybe add it. If the arc actually is a major plot to the story.
Ahh, so she is no longer considered a soul beast than. So, why does the Soul Hall even want her anymore if she is no longer considered a soul beast but a human. Just seems to be a form of prejudice against soul beasts - not for power sake but just because she is different.
(Episode 31) Finally we get to see Tang San reveal his hammer - and it seems like the 8 soul master he showed it too noticed :O! So, I guess the secret is out the bag (to a select few) & we finally get to see some people's reaction to him being a dual soul master. But of course they end the episode on a cliffhanger before we know the 8 soul master's story.
Did anyone else get annoyed that Xiao Wu is just watching Tang San level up to get his 4th ring in his mother's sanctuary while the rest of her team is fighting to advance. The other 3 had legit excuses - because they needed time to advance to their 4th ring or they were unconscious. But what was her excuse? She's just standing there watching Tang San - like how about you go to the tornament & give a helping hand to the rest of your friends. Zhu Qing is the best - like she was able to beat 2 opponents & buy some time so that Tang San could arrive. But Xiao Wu - always just has to be useless. Like sometimes I forget that she is also a fighter because she tends to never be around to actually be helpful. Even the supporting branch defeated someone.
Your stronger than me!! When I see new episodes - I must watch. I have absolutely no patience within me lol.
They do that with a lot of trailers though lol - and the worse one's are the modern romance dramas. Like they tell you who they will end up with in the opening or ending credits. And I am like so you pretty much told us the end game - like yes I know we probably already knew it but there is absolutely no surprise in it now. I mean they could be different & change it.
I actually like how some anime do their opening or ending credits. Like it has nothing to do with the actual show - but just the characters so no actual spoilers. But then again they probably don't know themselves since the manga people still writing it lol.
If Wu yelling out 'TANG SAN' regularly gets your goat to this extent, I have to warn you there is this one thing…
Rofl, too be honest Orihime isn't as bad as Xiao Wu - like yes she also has a tendency to constantly call out his name but I always thought Rukia was more annoying lol. Like I couldn't stand Rukia so I overlooked Orihime lol. I watch a lot of anime as well lol - but I am like caught up on the long ones (since most have ended) so I only have to like watch 1 episode per week when they release it.
I AGREE WITH YOU! Like, I don't get the whole 0 to 100 real quick relationship. I mean I know a lot of novel people are saying it started off when they were quite young - like 6 - but even then I would have to say idk a relationship should become like that. There should be some room for space in any kind of relationship - like let them be their own person. And her personality just makes it 100x worse, like excuse me can you please stop being all cutesy. I mean at least Orihime didn't say "Kurosaki-kun" while jumping around & acting 5.
Because they removed the reincarnation backstory to Tang San and made Xiao Wu much dumber, yea it would seem that…
Okay, finding out about Tang San's past pre-reincarnation actually makes sense why he would like her. Kind of reminds him of an innocense that he never had. But idk why a spirit beast that is over 100,000 years old would even act like a child - it's just w.e.
But, besides for her I like the other aspects of this story, so I can pretend she doesn't exist lol.
Because they removed the reincarnation backstory to Tang San and made Xiao Wu much dumber, yea it would seem that…
Ahhh so it seems like the drama kind of skipped the beginning of Xiao Wu's character & kind of just kept the 2nd half - where she is completely one dimensional. Idk why the screen writer thought that was a good idea - I feel like it just makes people hate her more. But like you said she still kept her cutesy character - & I can't stand those characters. So, I probably would still not like her even if he probably did put those parts in.
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
Would it be mean of me if I said I hope she does die lol? Like yes her sacrifice is beautiful to help Tang San out to obtain a soul ring at the cost of her own life. But, her personality just hinders me from looking past it.
If Wu yelling out 'TANG SAN' regularly gets your goat to this extent, I have to warn you there is this one thing…
Lucky, I also watch a lot of anime & I definitely am not desensitized. But then again I try to avoid anime that have leads that are that annoying. To be honest, she really reminds me of Sakura from Naruto - like her constant "Omg, Sasuke - - - Sasuke, I love you . . .". Like omg please just shut up, the man doesn't even know u exist. Xiao Wu is the sakura of this drama. She is literally useless & just causes problems for the main lead - while constantly screaming or in XW's case saying "Tang San".
Idk if she says it a lot but her saying "Tang San" & then adding onto the fact she never leaves his side - makes her insufferable. Of course it is just me - other people might not think the same way lol.
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
That sounds quite interesting. I do wish they stuck with the Slaughter City arc though - seems like we would get less of Xiao Wu (lol). Would have liked to see how Tang San would act without something attached to him all the time. But I think several people have stated that they probably will eliminate that portion entirely - idk for what reason though.
I feel like the anime has a lot of sacrifices that occur between the 2. I mean I agree it is beautiful that she sacrificed herself to become his spirit ring - but I just her entire cutesy personality ruins any true contribution she makes. However, the one thing I don't understand is - Tang San is half & half. He would be considered a soul beast because his mother was a plant soul. So, how come he wasn't hunted down for the same reasons as Xiao Wu & his mother?
Because they removed the reincarnation backstory to Tang San and made Xiao Wu much dumber, yea it would seem that…
Okay from how your describing her - she does seem better in the anime. But from other comments from novel/anime fans they also have stated they dislike her character lol. So, I am assuming that she has a bit more character in the drama but she still got that annoying part about her - that makes people dislike her?
I do wish they stayed true to the exceptional & smarter part of her character - I feel in the drama she is so useless. Instead of actually beating people down - she just makes the situation 10 times worse & contributes almost little to nothing to the situation. Even the supporting branch have accomplished more when it comes to fighting than her. Which adds to my irritability because not only is she annoying but she also has no purpose. Like Hu Lie Na might be a stalker but I don't think she made any situation really bad or has gotten herself kidnapped for the 20th time.
I just don't get how Rong Rong who is a true princess isn't that annoying & she does act spoiled - but her character has some actual personality. So in the end you kind of overlook it. But, with Xiao Wu she is just so one dimensional - she just a girl that just clings to Tang San.
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
Honestly the only way I feel she could get any better is if Thano snapped her out of existence lol. I know it's mean - but I have no regrets, we must get rid of this annoying character at all costs. I feel if we removed her - the story would still work & maybe even for the better. Like we could just pair him up with Hu Lie Na.
Why would they want to omit the Slaughter City arc? Is it like something that won't get past the Chiense censorship?
From the little your giving me about Hu Lie Na - I can understand why people prefer the ship between the 2. It seems to be more cohesive & probably more organic. And obviously probably less "Tang San" lol.
Because they removed the reincarnation backstory to Tang San and made Xiao Wu much dumber, yea it would seem that…
Rofl, so she basically she loses her form of speech? Idk if I would categorize that has her getting better - but more she got disabled lol. Like she probably still bouncy & trying to make cute faces - which adds to her intolerable-ness.
In the drama version, I feel like she is really bad in the first half - so I shudder at the thought that she could get any worse.
