Lol, I know what you mean. I used VPN to watch episode 24 but when the episode started there was no English subtitles in sight - my heart shattered. And I really don't like watching something where I am just like HUH?! Now I must learn to be patient - Tencent forcing me lol.

Wow, for 19 years - I think my longest celebrity crush was Henry Cavill & that's because I saw him in Man of Steel & was like DAMN!!! I actually created a twitter just to keep up to date with XZ stuff - that's how far I fell into the rabbit hole lol. Especially since I am not a huge social media fan - I feel if I want to talk to someone I can just text them or we can hang out. Like with school & work - I feel it's too much work to keep multiple platforms up to date. Idk how people do it without getting tired.

Yea, another show that got me disappointed with the story. Like Spike & Buffy ship didn't do it for me. It was never the same. And Angel just got boring after the first season - so I dropped it. I hate when they make spin-offs, which in the long run just hurt the original work. It's funny you mentioned Joss Whedan - because I just read on the news that Cordelia from Buffy said he was a complete slime ball.

I heard ZLY is like a really popular actess - so I can assume her schedule is like packed - so unless they tell her months in advance idk how she would join the project. The other actors - I don't know much about them except that I think the SML as a couple of dramas coming out. I think it's interesting how in Chinese entertainment - the females actually get more popularity than the males. But I have also noticed a lot of dramas are mainly female centric - Girl Power!

Ooo, now I want to watch Starship Troopers - it sounds like a horror movie lol. And I am a huge horror movie fan lol.

Rofl, you don't like Rong Rong (Princess chick)? I actually think her character is not bad - like even though she is whiny, she definitely does think about her team members. Like she didn't leave them behind in the forest & she also stuck by Tang San when those elders wanted to kill him. However, I think Ou Si Ka really needs to stop carrying her stuff - like let her do it. U are allowing her to continue to be spoiled. That sausage power had me dying lol & I felt bad for him that he had to yell something so ridiculous lol. For Tang San's dad - I really don't think he is the bad guy. Like, he doesn't seem to be the type. I really think Hu Lie Na (crazy stalker chick) is the underling for the bad guy. Like why are you always stalking someone? And we don't know what her reasoning is - like she says Mu Bai but she is like investigating other things as well. Which has nothing to do with him; like the mutation of Flame On! guy. Also, she dead ass jedi mind controlled Mu Bai to be like her puppet - I was like yea that doesn't seem like a total Bad guy move. And then when Master realized she probably had a tool to manipulate him - I was like dude she literally has a funky necklace around her neck. Did no one think that necklace was odd? Like snatch it off her neck & throw it in the fire!!!

I noticed in the beginning they didn't really show a lot of the fight scenes. I wonder if that's because initially their budget was really low so they wanted to save money & only use CGI on the big fight scenes. Mu Bai was arrogant as hell in the beginning but he definitely started to change when he was training Flame On! guy. He officially got off my shit list when he actually helped Rong Rong & Ou Si Ka with the rocks during the training.

Right? lol. Like when the Master & Headmaster first met - I was like why does this seem like a romantic scene between 2 lovers lol. And when Headmaster hands the Master water - I was like ummm are they trying to develop a ship here lol?

I agree with you on that. I think it would have been better if they told people in advance that this will not be true to source. Mainly because I feel that the people who did watch the original source might still watch it even if they know it won't be accurate. It would give them time to keep an open mind about the drama besides for being blindsided by it. Now those people have to keep an open mind during the screening of the drama - which is really hard.

But it is what it is - they can't take it back. Just have to see what the drama holds till the end. I liked the drama from the start, but never saw the original source - so just have to see what others who have will say about it. But, I have said it before, I don't believe everyone is going to love it - no drama is loved by 100% of the audience.

Rofl, it seems we do have a lot in common. I actually did watch all 3 at the same time ROFL. I had the devices - & my internet actually stayed connected. The damn winter storm always be acting up & making me lose internet connection (grrrr). I definitely loved the BTV performance - it was soo good & his vocals were just :D. That is true, I really loved the SML's acting in Princess Agent - it even made me almost cry (& I tend not to get sentimental). I felt it was because in the beginning he was so happy & always smiling & then u see him go through such a difficult hardship - like when his mother jumped into the fire. OMG, I could feel my damn heart breaking. I mean if they are going to make a part 2 - they should definitely do it quick. I mean the actors are not gonna be young forever - & eventually they just going to look off. That's another reason why I feel like it might not happen because it seems to be taking along time for them to make the 2nd movie. Also, like the schedules could conflict - I mean I don't follow them but they probably have other dramas that they are recording so maybe they won't be able to.

Dang, talk about being ruthless!! I hate when they make you like a character & then totally obliterate that character - like I was invested man can you have some sympathy? Hasn't it been a while since the first season, would it even be possible at this point in time for them to make a 2nd season? Also, I feel like if they did the entire cast would be different & at that point I think the story would just be completely different. I hate cast changes - they always tend to get new actors that don't know what they are doing which ruins the entire thing.

Back to DC conversation lol. I actually watched up to episode 23 so idk where you are but when he gets his spider legs power - I was like okayyyy this is getting interesting. Come to the dark side Tang San lol. Motor Mouth, I feel he has gotten better but then again I actuallly like his character lol. Just think he is funny at times. Mu Bai at times makes me want to slap him & at other times I like him lol. It definitely is getting better though & headed at an interesting plot line. I am glad they finally stopped showing the back story of the supporting cast.

Yup, as a huge Lord of the Rings fan I can tell you that a lot of people were disappointed when the movie came out because there were a lot of changes. I did love the movies but there were definitely clear differences. Almost to the same point as this drama, like the personality change of some characters, scenes were taken out or completely changed, the age difference for the main character - list can go on. So, clearly changes are always made when you go from 1 medium to the other.

Yea, I think you can definitely see character development for most of the characters not just Tang San. I mean I feel Wang Juan & the author are just trying to find a way that the novel could be translated well without looking sloppy or just weird.

To be honest, I don't think they really did a lot of promotion for the show. They literally dropped it like 4 hours before the drama aired. without any kind of warning. So, not surprised they didn't tell people that it was going to be different but for what it is worth they do state in the end credits that this is an adaptation & there will be differences. However, let's be completely honest no one reads the end credits lol.

Yea, that is a main reason why I don't really like watching a lot of anime live action adaptations (e.g. Full Metal, Dragon Ball, Death Note) - they always suck because of the CGI or just plain cringey because it doesn't translate well when a actual human does it. So, that's why I completely understand when original source people get disappointed because you had a picture of it already in ur heads & it just looked nothing like what you expected.

We are all in the hands of Wang Juan at this point lol. I mean, I personally like where the drama is going but I also never seen the original source. So, I feel if Wang Juan wants to appeal to those that have seen it - he needs a great twist. However, I feel like even then some people are not going to like it - which is understandable & actually par for the course.

I am starting to really like Rong Rong as the drama progresses. I thought I would find her annoying or just a ehh supporting cast but her personality & character is just on point. I have, however, realized they are probably going to stick with the spoiled attitude of hers lol. Which I can get over - it's not the end of the world. But if she was spoiled & had a bad attitude then I would have had 2 characters I hated.

Yup that is true - almost in all my favorite shows or anime I have at least 1 or 2 people I just can't stand. Zhu Qing is bad ass but I think she needs to admit that she got the Hots for Mu Bai - like even a blind person could tell at this point.

OMG!! A Supernatural reference - best show ever (& Dean is HOT)!! The dark Tang San was interesting though - & mixed with the spider legs just made the whole scene better.
