"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
I don't mind spoilers - so you may tell me. But, I feel my bias is too strong & might not allow me to like Xiao Wu even after knowing what you tell me lol. Fair warning.
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
Omg, how can she get worse? I really hope they read the criticism of her character & don't make her that bad like your describing from the novel. Idk if I can stand it - like Xiao Wu literally has no character development at all. While the rest of the cast have. Like all she does is scream "Tang San" or cling on to him like a lost puppy.
I agree with you. Even though I don't know much of Hu Lie Na, I just feel anything is better than TS & XW. At least Hu Lie Na would add some character to the relationship - or at least be intriguing. I feel all the other relationships like Ou Si Ka & Rong Rong as well as Mu Bai & Zhu Qing are actually a good relationship pairing. They also seem to be there for each other but aren't toxic like Ts & XW are. Even the small moment that Hu Lie Na & Tang San had in the drama felt organic & actually like a normal relationship.
That's why I am onboard the Hu Liena & Tang San ship..I LOVE a bad b!tch and a good boy together hehe...it'll…
To be honest any other person with Tang San would be better than Xiao Wu. I would even be Team Tang San & Rong Rong. Xiao Wu is such a boring character with almost no character development.
Did she really save Tang San? If she wasn't a complete Daphne & got herself kidnapped by the Ape Soul Beast - Tang San would never have to go through such lengths to try to get her back. So, I just see it as her fixing her own mistake. Like, how is it that Tang San has told her all his secrets but she has told him none of hers? And her keeping secrets has put Tang San in danger. If she just told Tang San she knew the Ape soul beast - he would never have done something that reckless.
Though I haven't gotten as far as you, the actress must have gotten a lot of exercise from all of the jumping…
I am trying really hard here not to lose it every time she screams "Tang San" lol. I honestly really hope they don't even touch the romance part in this season (or ever, which is preferable). Like idk if it's the actress or the voice actress that just makes her even more intolerable.
Because they removed the reincarnation backstory to Tang San and made Xiao Wu much dumber, yea it would seem that…
I mean I can understand Tang San feeling that he needs to protect her - which is perfectly understandable from how you explained it in the anime. Especially if you kind of went through a life of loneliness as an orphan. So, I can understand why Tang San is doing it.
However, the drama has just made me want to Kamehameha Xiao Wu on several occassions. Like from what your saying she seemed to be more independent in the anime but in the drama she is just always clinging on to Tang San, wished they kept that independency & didn't make her so clingy. Like you said it makes sense if they kept the reincarnation plot but since they didn't - best to also remove that part as well. But then again I am bias because I dislike that kind of stuff in general lol.
You seemed to have watched the original source - do you think the Xiao Wu from the anime is a better character than the one from the drama?
If Wu yelling out 'TANG SAN' regularly gets your goat to this extent, I have to warn you there is this one thing…
Rofl hahah thank you for letting me know. Now I know to avoid that drama at all costs. Damn, my rant made you think I will become an enraged mass killer? Promise I am not that bad lol. I just thought the constant screaming of "Tang San" & her being so clingy was just - grrrrr.
I agree, the plot needs to move a little faster. I understand they need to kind of introduce all the characters…
I actually like buying books on Amazon for school because you can also return it back to them for a good price - so at the end you don't pay much. But I won't lie - I tend to torrent books :X if I can find them for free. Idk why they make school books so expensive especially when most college students can't afford them. Like science textbooks are like a good 300 dollars - like when did we become that rich? I love B&N though - like I enjoy reading physical copies over kindle/tablet. I just feel it's more enjoyable lol. I mean yes the books are more expensive than the online version - but B&N always has like sales. I have gotten a ton of books for like $5 or less. -- Yea everything is online, which isn't a terrible thing because people can get things more easily but I also feel like it also makes them rely too heavily on it as well. Hahah you sound like my friend - but her reasoning is different lol. Because she got her first phone in middle school so she thinks it's only fair they get the same treatment lol. I personally don't want kids because I feel like I can't even take care of myself lol - don't want someone else entering this sinking boat. -- I remember when I went to a restaurant I saw children playing on iPads or iPhones - people are very tech savvy these days. Lol, idk with how advanced the internet is going I just feel that you might have no choice but to allow them to surf the internet. I mean like what if they need to do homework - you might have to.
I mean clearly she wanted to get a surrogacy because she didn't want to ruin her body - but then why even have kids when your going to change your mind at the drop of a dime. Like they are human beings & your own flesh & blood - like idk why I still get surprised with how people treat their own kids after everything you hear on the news. But still. Adoption would have been ideal but I feel like the chances of the 2 kids getting separated would have been high & they might not have ever gotten adopted. I mean I think the rate at which Asian children get adopted is like around 15% - which is such a small number. That is why I can't believe she would even want to do that - like she just wanted to throw the responsibility to someone else. So, good on the father for at least stepping up - she should also pay alimony as well & help raise those kids.
WOW! They don't even provide water? That is horrible! I mean especially if they working in extreme heat & on top of that they have to carry around heavy equipment. Worse, you can't even complain because they probably can just get rid of you & get someone elese who won't complain. Sad they have to rely on the cast to give them basic necessities.
Discovery Plus? I would just assume they have discovery channels - I already spend too much on subscriptions lol. Got my anime subscription (which I will die before I let it go lol), netflix & prime. Prefer not to get anymore. I also have HBO but thats because my parents have it lol. Rofl, I actually don't mind spoilers either. I sometimes wiki certain shows just to know what happens. It's mostly to know if they will ruin a character for me - so I should drop it or not lol. So, don't think your weird at all or we both are just weirdos lol.
I actually haven't seen Hu Lie Na in the last few episodes - where is our favorite stalker? And what is she scheming. I mean I feel it is difficult to make everyone happy with an adaptation of a popular source material. I mean I was a huge Hobbit/Lord of the Rings fan & even I kept thinking there are a lot of changes. But in the end I did love the movies even though they were different. I feel even if it is different from the original source as long as the show itself has a good storyline - I will enjoy it. But others are different which I totally understand - & they have every right to not like it. No show/movie has ever had 100% of their audience love their work. My favorite movie is Batman the Dark Knight - & I am fully aware that there are people who dislike it as well.
Your stronger than me!! When I see new episodes - I must watch. I have absolutely no patience within me lol.
Ahh, okay. Well you will get there one day - I could imagine how hard Chinese is to learn because they tend to use pronunciation to differentiate some characters. So if you pronounce something wrong - it becomes something totally different. Which is crazy!
I feel the modern C-dramas that are romance focused tend to have a plot of like - oh the girl/boy family does not like the person or there is another person that is trying to sabotage them because they like one of the leads. It tends to get repetitive after a while - I mean don't get me wrong I like a good romance drarma when I am in the mood for it. But, rarely do they ever do it right where I don't fast forward a major portion of the drama. I have tried searching MDL for good romance dramas - but none of them really peak my interest. Hoping Oath of Love comes out soon - because the trailer looks good.
Sorry, I have to go on like an intense rant on Xiao Wu & Tang San's relationship.
I honestly hate the relationship between the 2 - it absolutely makes no sense to me at all. I have tried to come to terms with it because I thought I was just being bias because of how cutesy Xiao Wu acts & I hate characters like that in general. But the more I watch - the more I can't stand her. Like I understand they have a "sibling" relationship - but no siblings are attached to the hip like that. Like wherever Tang San goes, Xiao Wu just has to follow him. He specifically has told her to leave on several occassions - but she just refuses by always saying we promised to stay together. Like WHAT?! Even married couples don't go every where together - like BRO!!
And she has no impact when she does stay, she just at the side yelling "TANG SAN" or getting poisoned by someone/kidnapped - just turning out to be a typical Daphne from Scooby-Doo. Like when she decided to get involved (by being a complete stalker & stoying away in the radish cart) with Tang San getting his 1st ring in the 3rd episode - she got in his way by deliberatly separating him from the Master; who has been a major factor in his improvement. And now being on the 30th episode & I feel that she has just gotten worse. Like in the sand village, Tang San told her to leave with the group - but she again refused because she just can't stand leaving TS. Like it isn't even a sibling or a romantic relationship - just seems toxic. Idk how she is in the anime version but in this drama version - she is just annoying. And I know people probably like her character - and probably perceive this in a different light, which is fine & I understand everyone has different preferences. But I just want to Kamehameha every time she tries to act cute or says "Tang San".
End of rant! Sorry, just had to get that off my chest lol.
I agree, the plot needs to move a little faster. I understand they need to kind of introduce all the characters…
Talented!! Damn congrats on the poem's being published - I rememeber in English class in high school they made us write poems (ughhh, the hardest task possible). I don't even like writing essays - I am a Science major lol so of course those things are my natural enemy lol. At least you have a good reader base - I was worried that people would stop reading. It feels like reading has started to become obsolete & people don't buy books the way they used to. Like even amongst my friends - I am the only one that still reads on a regular basis. Like I feel with the new age of Netflix - people are likely to absorb content through the television then want to read. It kind of sucks - I feel like Barnes & Nobles is the only bookstore really still open & who knows for how much longer.
Yea & the worse thing is - not like they get paid like Hollywood standards. Like here the actors might get like 500,000 - 1 million an episode, depending on how good the show is & the actor. But in China - they definitely don't get paid as much. So, like backlisting an entire drama because of 1 person is just crazy & unfair. Her drama was like the first actual scandal I have witnessed - the other scandals were just plain stupid or dumb or had nothing to do with the actual actor. And majority of the scandals are - oh this person is dating. Like really? They are human - like of course they going to date. But her scandal was bad - like you willingly wanted 2 babies & because the circumstances changed you just want to throw them away like a used handbag? Like if it wasn't for the ex that actually returned to America - those kids would just be thrown into an adoption.
Rofl, I also only got Prime because of the shipping. Prefer to get my items right away since I do a lot of my shopping on amazon - and I also have the amazon credit card so if you have prime they like double your rewards. So, it pays for itself in the end. Yea, I got Netflix back when it was like 6.99 (now its 13) & they actually had good content. But as the years went by they started losing that content & just jacked up prices because they had "original" content. Like I enjoyed daredevil & the punisher but then they lost it because disney+ wanted a piece of the action. Too many streaming services - wished it was just 1.
Episode 24 & 25 were good - I actually liked the battle scene. In the beginning I was like what is going on? But it get's better. Damn, someone really spoiled it for you lol - since 9 rings guy doesn't appear until I believe the 25th episode. But the most interesting episode to me was definitely the 26th - there were so many questions I had & theories at the end of it. I think 26 is like where the series takes a turn. I am going to watch 30 & 31 - hopefully tonight - from the previews I am most excited for 31. When you get upto episode 26 - we can discuss our favorite stalker Hu Lie Na some more lol.
Your stronger than me!! When I see new episodes - I must watch. I have absolutely no patience within me lol.
Me too - I just feel like I am already behind with all the content for Douluo. Like the BTS scenes & episodes - & if we throw Oath of Love in it, I will just be lost!
Oh, your learning Chinese? Nice, at least you won't have to be trying to multitask by reading the subs & looking at the screen at the same time lol. I wished I had time I would try to learn Chinese through Duolingo lol.
I personally don't really like many modern C-dramas - I think I prefer the modern K-dramas more. Like I tried meteor garden but felt the story line was repetitive - like too many misunderstandings over & over again. But I do like the Lost Tomb/Sound of Providence series - but that's mainly adventure like dramas.
Really? I'm in episode 23 and I feel like this plot is dragging so much. T_T I can't wait something to finally…
If you watch episode 26 & still not feeling the plot - then this drama might not be your cup of tea (completely fine, it probably won't be a lot of people's favorite). I feel episode 26 is like where a lot of the plot starts coming together & u kind of start seeing the big picture. So, I believe if people don't like it by 26 - most likely they won't like the show in general.
LMAO!! I think someone should have her for dinner with some fava beans and a nice Chianti. ;)
She absorbs souls? It looked like she just like mind manipulated people and then like some how transforms into them, sort of like an illusion type of magic.
But to be honest - she just screams stalker vibes. Like even her power is like ideal for a stalker.
I agree with you. Even though I don't know much of Hu Lie Na, I just feel anything is better than TS & XW. At least Hu Lie Na would add some character to the relationship - or at least be intriguing.
