I don't even know if its 29 or 32. I know some people are saying on some sites it says 32. I am kind of glad it isn't too long. I feel some modern dramas tend to be draggy even with 24 episodes. So, 29 episodes is probably a good length for a modern drama - at least in my opinion

It felt sweet with the romance aspect but I can also see it's going to be heart breaking with how many tears we saw just from the MV. Looks like people better buy a box of tissues for this one.

I really love the chemistry though. The way Dr. Gu Wei kept looking at Lin Zhi Xiao was just adorable.

Girl, I saw it & was so excited. The dialogue that was between them was also so cute at the beginning. The chemistry really looks good between the 2 - ahhh now the next 25ish days is going to be even longer.

The MV for Oath of Love was released - and OMG it looks so cute & heartbreaking at the same time. I really want to see it already.

Yup. I think the government was really upset with Weibo & for fear of being taken down they finally implemented some changes to show that they are taking it seriously. Because I remember last year there was a huge campaign for cleansing the internet - which they did not take seriously at all. They just closed some accounts but continued their regular routine. But due to the KW situation they had to step in because people were watching how his fans were kind of questioning the government. And the government was not about to have that because weibo was a camping ground for them to do so.

Honestly, MWW just seems to be a bully. She wanted Xiao Zhan to apologize for something that wasn't even his mistake but than says stuff like how people should be grateful to sleep with their idols regardless of how it happened. Like HUH? And her apology was definitely not sincere. She was the reason more women had to go through that because she took his side rather than victims. She was victim blaming - which she is known to do. She thinks getting paid by people and hurting others was a good career path to choose. Well, she got punished for hurting those that were innocent - people like that do not deserve a platform.

I think the whole Z situation that just happened is crazy. I didn't even know about it until yesterday & literally 2 hours later all his brands dropped him - at least that is what someone on twitter wrote so I could be wrong. As a foreigner I don't want to put my 2 cents in it because I believe we should always respect other countries history & follow their rules when we set foot in someone else's country. But, I understand what he did was completely wrong & I know even Bieber did something like that & was crucified as well by Chinese citizens & he isn't even a national. And he had to apologize for his actions. This man is a citizen & he did it. I am not a fan (neutral on him) but hopefully he can also get passed it after apologizing & trying his best to do whatever he can to fix it. Hoping his team is good & can help him overcome this situation.

But one thing is for certain to me is that Xiao Zhan's "scandal" was totally BS (it already was but just solidified it for me). When a celebrity actually has a scandal they get dropped & clearly the government's accounts post about their behavior. For XZ's situation that never happened - CCTV never posted anything negative about him. Actually they defended him. So, it just shows me more that his situation was a witch hunt. It was just a bunch of haters trying to take him down even though they had nothing negative to use. So they used his "fans" - which we all know no celeb in history has been able to fully control their fans. But these scandals are showing how true scandals are interpreted by society and how brands deal with it. Brands don't give Xiao Zhan a standee tour like KXZ did or how Budweiser & ZGL treated him. It's clear which is a scandal & which was a cyber bullying incident.

I really wished they could tell us what his next project is. I been seeing a lot of melons about it & we know it's not all true but I am hoping we get something solid soon. But it's nice if he can also just rest & have fun. I know there was a melon for a new variety show but due to covid it seems to have been delayed so I hope he gets to go on another one
instead - maybe just guest ​appearance.

I hear he might be going on Season 3 of Our Song so let's hope that is true. I really loved him on that show. It's interesting that u became a fan through Our Song & not Untamed like most people I know have.

I also can't wait for OOL - I feel like it would be a great drama. And Longest Promise also seems promising but they already stated we won't see it until Summer of 2022 so a long way to go until we get to see it :/. Just glad HT doesn't have their hands on it so we can actually trust a release date of Summer. I also wonder when they will release AT since I thought they were going to do it in September but I doubt they want to compete with OOL.

Ahhh, u know u do have a point there. I just love him in costume dramas so I just wanted more lol. Well, I hope whatever it is the story is just good & it gives him enough room to show his acting capabilities.

I kind of wish for something like a crime story - that would be amazing.

Still wish for costume drama lol - I kind of want to see him as a emperor or prince. Or a crime story in historical times would also be amazing. At this point I just want to hear what his next project is.

Hopeful for the melon on Our Song to be true. But I won't put my hopes up.

I definitely agree. But the strange thing is that the drama that is showing on August 8th is also a Tencent drama - well at least it has Tencent on their poster so I am assuming it is a Tencent production. So, if Tencent & HT had some kind of drama than why would they air a Tencent joint production instead. I feel it has more to do with them using OOL. Like what u said, they wanted to intimidate competition from airing their dramas at the same time they supposedly were going to air OOL. Which of course worked in the beginning but I hear other stations aren't falling for it anymore & neither are the audience. I mean how long can u play the same trick until people are going to start side eyeing u.

I also wished it was on Dragon TV or CCTV because they seem to want to air the production & they do right by Xiao Zhan. Especially Dragon because XZ has been on their New Year's program for 2 years straight - even during his incident. So, it shows they at least respect him.

I heard they changed the Weibo Super Topic because of the whole celebrity getting in trouble with underage girls (I don't want to write his name just in case ). It was HUGE news on weibo & government got involved to the point where they practically erased his existence. But I heard some fans went a bit crazy & questioned the government - which we know is a big NO NO. So, of course weibo had to do something or the government would take them down. So, I feel that was their response to the threat but who knows lol. They like are doing an entire makeover at this point on weibo but I doubt they will get rid of the water army or paid articles because they get paid for those things. And the new method for ST allows them to make more money by allowing other fandoms to buy the #1 ranking spot if they wanted to. I feel it's hilarious they claim it "fixes" up the online enivornment - which it doesn't. They need to remove the rankings in general.

I actually would love a Republican drama as well - I just love his costume dramas so much more. But than again I don't think I have seen him in a modern drama. Cai Ding was probably the closest thing so maybe when I see Dr. Gu Wei I might change my mind. It's funny because I actually dislike costume dramas in general unless he is in it. I find them a bit too long & kind of on the boring side. But Xiao Zhan does such a great job & he just looks amazing that I just want him to do only costumes.

I hear he is supposed to be in a new modern drama & a variety show with elder people (I forgot all names rofl). Deep down I hope the modern drama melon is untrue lol - and instead its a new costume drama :D.

Yea, I read something along those lines as well. That some admin of Hunan TV posted some 22* content and said things like how Hunan was never going to release OOL. But, I mean we got a release date so who knows what they were talking about. I always thought that HT would eventually have to release it because the licensing would expire & than Tencent can give it to anyone they please. And Hunan would lose a lot of money for no reason - no business wants to lose money. I know Dragon TV & CCTV have been trying to get OOL for an entire year so it's not like other stations wouldn't want it.

Hahaha, I didn't see the new bts so I can't comment about that but every big platform u must always side eye because they are only in it for themselves lol. But, Tencent has been doing good by Xiao Zhan so I am okay with them for now.

I can't believe this drama actually got a release date :D. It's also a surprise that it's a month in advance - I don't think I have ever seen a C-drama have a release date 1 month prior. Most of the time it's like a few days or the same day even.

Looks like your gift card and 3 month Tencent VIP is going to come in handy after all :). I am so happy that they finally gave us a release date for OOL. And that too a month in advance. I don't think I have ever seen a C-drama give a release date a month in advance. I wonder if Hunan finally came to their senses or it's because a lot of fans showed their dissatisfaction. But whatever the reason I am just glad Dr. Gu Wei will finally come home. Now all those gift cards I got can be used lol.

It isn't official but a lot of rumor sites are saying it will be August 8. A certain site that releases "melons" is pretty accurate with its reporting so a lot of people are more inclined to believe it. But still not official so I wouldn't take it with 100% certainty. But I feel we all been waiting for this drama for so long that any news is gratifying lol. I am willing to see what happens with my clown makeup on :D

But still not going to fully jump in the clown car yet lol - I remember how many times I have gotten disappointed with all the rumored dates. I haven't seen Yamibuy carry the Man Han noodles ever since Xiao Zhan endorsed it lol. I am guessing they probably don't carry too much of the stock since it seems like most of the items do sell out pretty fast. And yea, I always just look up Xiao Zhan but sadly a lot of the items he endorses doesn't come up with that so than I have to start looking for it manually (ughhh lol).

Here in NY - there are certain areas where there are a lot of Asian markets but I have been too busy to go & check. One of these days I will do so lol. Maybe they might actually have some if I am lucky. I kind of wanted to try the deluxe ice-cream but no way I can just get that delivered lol. I would have to find it in a supermarket.

At this point I would just like to at least get Oath of Love released lol. But we shall see what happens with that lol.

Sorry for being late to this but it seems like 11amber did a good job at explaining it. But hahha yea steamier would probably definitely be a web drama lol. I know all dramas go through censorship regardless if its web or tv drama. But I know tv dramas go through like a second review - so pretty much it's super strict in what can be aired.

Modern dramas also tend to be aired on tv over costume dramas - it's very rare when a costume drama get aired. Also, it depends on the tv station if they want to buy the rights to it. So, Oath of Love was a Tencent production & Hunan bought the rights to air it - hence why it's taking so long because we all are waiting on Hunan. Tencent can only watch from the sidelines & see what the station does.

Most of the time stations see if a drama will be successful & buy the rights if the drama looks promising. I wouldn't be surprised if Tencent didn't want to give away the rights to YAMG because of what happened to Oath of Love - best to just keep it in house & air it as quickly as possible. Rather than wait forever & hope Hunan feels like airing something.
