That is so true! I have noticed they tend to do that a lot just to promote their drama. Like they don't promote it through normal means, instead will lie about a casting between 2 popular actors. And that will attract people to see the trailer or at least know about the drama more. I mean it seems like it works since they always do it.

You have a point. I guess I try to forget about what happened last year but ur right. He probably should just have this year as peaceful as possible without any extra tension. I mean he still gets it from anti's here & there but defiinitely not to the same level. And he seems to be enjoying acting in both the drama & play. So, yea best for him not to get into extra fandom wars & just enjoy this year. He definitely deserves that.

I also think Xiao Zhan's acting will be great. I actually believe that the female lead in Longest Promise will do a good job - I just thought since she was a newbie she would definitely have some flaws (I mean most do) but overall performance should be good. But ur right, when someone is around a good actor they tend to shine & can make people forget faults from other actors.

Oh yea I heard about the fandom wars from that drama. It was all over weibo hot search. I just forgot about that for a moment or thought it wouldn't happen to XZ (I know totally optimistic lol). Yea. . . .more I think about it the more I agree. Eventually he will be paired with a popular actress but it's good to have a break from that; at least for this year.

Lol, very true. Updates for this show are useless if their is no exact airing date lol. I feel they have given us like a million trailers - so I don't even get excited for a new trailer anymore. At this point the only update I want is a release date lol.

Sadly it was just a rumor :/. According to those rumors Dilraba already has her next project & the male lead is not Xiao Zhan (sigh). So I guess we r going to have to wait until 2022 for a possible collaboration (fingers crossed).

I find it interesting that so manty people want Xiao Zhan & Dilraba to be in a drama together - but no one has made it possible yet. Just make it possible already, please!

Do u even find updates on Oath of Love? I feel like even the updates for this drama are turning out to be like an abandoned ghost town - just filled with emptiness & cobwebs.

Wasn't he in a casting rumor with Zhao Liying just a month ago lol? It became such big news that it entered the weibo hot search. And I think before that it was Dilraba (but I think everyone wants to see a Dilraba & Xiao Zhan pairing).

Are these rumor sites just throwing Xiao Zhan with a different female celeb everytime - just hoping one of them is correct lol? I wonder if he even took his next project after Longest Promise but I guess we won't know until August (? I think that is when he finishes filming).

I didn't watch it but I believe it is only for movies. I have seen some of the winners on weibo & the award tend to be for a movie they were in. I didn't see anyone win for a tv drama - but I could be wrong since I didn't see it lol.

I feel it is a bit too early to make that declaration since they are still filming. But I don't blame u for thinking that lol. C-dramas & proper release dates do not work well with each other. And Tencent is even worse - just look at how long Oath of Love has been in the basement (smh). But I think Longest Promise MIGHT (?) be released in 2022 in Q2 or Q3 since it won't be televised (too many episodes) & it shouldn't have any big issues to pass censorship (hopefully lol).

But won't be surprised if it takes its sweet time lol.

I know this is late but yes they will have a 2nd season. However, it hasn't been filmed yet. I think Tencent mentioned it recently in one of their conferences so they might be getting ready to film the 2nd season. But no real information is out about when it will be filmed & if the cast will be the same or not.

Looks like a very high budget drama.
I also prefer the new English name The Longest Promise compared to Jade Bone Ballad.

I feel that is a talking point that anti's have been trying to spin since last year. I am surprised they haven't found a new talking point yet - it's always rinse & repeat with them. Like if they are going to spend so much time on Xiao Zhan at least spice things up with their weird anti behavior.

For ur question about Xiao Zhan fans being mostly teenagers is false. According to Aiman, the majority of fans is actually 25 - 34 (making up about 65% - I will give u a link to a screenshot someone took from AIMAN in October of 2020). People less than 18, actually only make up less than 1%. And ages 18 - 24 is the 2nd largest which make up 26%.

Now for the product endorsement's & such. He is always ranked 1st in terms of pure sales - & if u just look at the play that he is now in, that has always gotten sold out in a matter of seconds. If u actually go on xunyee he has 80% of all pure sales from all of his endoresemnts. While the other celebs make up 20% of sales - the fact is that a lot of antis know his sale power but want passerbys to believe that his fans are manipulating things.

You can also look at vlinkage which tends to give the most popular brands at a weekly basis that a celeb endorses. Xiao Zhan has been dominating the charts by taking up 5 out of the 10 - even with brands that aren't new such as KXZ. Usually these charts will have brands that celebs just recently endorsed because fans tend to buy those more & give the most attention to. While XZ fans tend to buy repeatedly throughout the course of his endoresement so they will be on this chart a lot more.

Now, for ur question about him not being that famous. To be honest, I don't care if he is popular or not so it isn't that big of a deal to me. But, if u use weibo they tend to have supertopics which is pretty much an indicator of how powerful & active ur fandom is. Xiao Zhan has always been 1st & leading others by a huge margin.

Anti's like to spin things like Xiao Zhan is the only famous celeb & if any other celeb is talked about than that automatically means XZ is done & over with & he is no longer popular. But if we use that logic than that means no one is popular in China except for XZ - and we all know that is just not true. Other celebs are just as popular but that does not mean XZ is no longer famous - just means the entertainment business is big enough for more than 1 popular celeb.

I saw the same thing when I went on the US website as well lol. I am guessing TODS is trying to compete with KXZ for the best brand that Xiao Zhan endorses lol.
