If u go on the Ace Troops drama page there are posts going in detail about the situation. I will give a short summary - but this has nothing to do with the investor meeting.

Summary:
1. In 2019, Xiao Zhan was offered the role of Ace Troops has the 1st Male Lead - due to Covid though the filming was postponed to mid 2020
2. Around May 2020, the production company of Ace used Xiao Zhan as the 1st male lead in order to attract investors to get money for the drama
3. Filming then begain in August of 2020 - at that time there were marketing sites that stated that Xiao Zhan was going to be 2nd lead in this drama. Of course, xFx did not care & was okay with that billing situation
4. Fast forward to May 14 (a day before the iQiyi event) - people saw weibo hot searches that showed Xiao Zhan's name 1st & his co-star 2nd. And if someone's name is first than that usually means they are 1st ML.
5. May 15 happens. Poster gets released. Xiao Zhan's name is clearly 2nd in billing & xFx did not care. They gave the post likes & views - at the time it reached almost 1.5 million likes. Clearly showing they did not care if he was the male lead or 2nd.

6. Now this is where things started going wrong. People realized that the post did not tag Xiao Zhan. Any new drama will always credit the actors that are in it - at least upto a minimum of 3 (sometimes there will be more). Also, the hot searches with XZ's name were all removed only the ones with the other male lead remained.
7. Instead of his name they noticed that only the 1st Male Lead was tagged - what that means is that all the data & heat is going to him & nothing will be given to Xiao Zhan. Of course, this made people mad because this isn't the first time someone used XZ for heat just to throw him away later on. And those people can use the data that xFx are giving Xiao Zhan to show their investors - "oh look how well received this drama is with our male lead & it can succeed without XZ being 1st"
So, people started silently removing their posts/likes & unfollowing the page. They decided that they will not give free data unless they properly give credit to Xiao Zhan - which to be honest I see nothing wrong with that. If u worked on an invention for months just to find out later on that not only did someone else get most of the credit but ur name isn't even on the patent to give u credit for the work. I think most people would be upset that something they worked on for months just got stolen from them without any kind of credit.

So, this has nothing to do with him being male lead or not. Rememeber he was 3rd lead in The Wolf & xFx went all out in promotion (several weibo hot searches). And u didn't hear any kind of complaint from xFx because the cast of the Wolf were kind to him & when posting about the drama they gave him credit for his work. AND of course Cai Ding for Heroes In Harm Way is like maybe 90th in billing (maybe even further down) & xFx went all out in promoting for that drama as well. It is about RESPECT - & the production company did not give that to him. (At least at this time, things could get better later on - who knows)

Idk if u remember the variety show from last year. They kept giving out hints that Xiao Zhan would have a guest appearance - it got so many of them exicted where xFx promoted for the variety show. And even watched the first 2 episodes - giving them very high ratings. And every week they would again give a hint - like a drawing that is XZ to indicate who the guest is but again no Xiao Zhan. Finally, xFx realized they were being lied to & they actually cut his appearance from the show but they still wanted his fandom to support the show. But xFx stopped watching it, however, the production started releasing leaks of XZ from the variety show hoping that xFx will see it & think he might appear later on. Never happened. U probably have even seen a new leak just this week with XZ wearing black pajamas with black glasses - a leak from that said variety show a year later (he looks absolutely adorable btw in the pic lol). They did that because a new season of that variety show is being released & they wanted to get attention for it. Toxicity of the industry - smh.

That is the fear now. They think that if they give this drama the heat they want without them giving Xiao Zhan any credit - than what is stopping them from cutting his scenes like that variety show did. At the end of the day it's all about credit & respect & of course fear that he is being used again. But, please make ur own decision in how u want to proceed - majority of xFx are saying to make ur own decision. I am going to probably watch it on iQiyi but probably not give any extra data to their drama page on weibo & such. But I think as more information gets revealed I might change my mind.

Sorry for my long essay - I just know personally it is very difficult to find information on C-entertainment. It isn't like googling for Leonardo DiCaprio & u can find out everything about him (I hope not lol). And sadly there are a lot of anti's that love to give out false information in order to sway people into thinking a certain way. I hope I made sense - anyways hopefully we get to talk about his role none the less & just have fun :)!

I agree with ur sentiment - absolutely unnecessary. I was also very angry when this whole thing went down but I feel I still want to use my own way to support his work. without giving them any kind of heat. However, just like u, if later on I find out more details that make the situation look worse - ABSOLUTELY not going to watch it on iQiyi than. They are not going to use Xiao Zhan just to give credit to someone else - we saw enough of that last year & even this year.

But let's just hope this situation gets better.

Ahhh yes I see what u mean. And ur right - he is just being taken advantage of. But sadly that is the toxicity of the industry. They use those they can just to throw them aside later on.

I don't think they thought he only has international fans - it is widely known that chinese xFx largely outnumber international xFx. That is also the main reason why they told their investors that Xiao Zhan was the main lead - because they knew his fandom will watch it & support it. Also, look at his endoresements with long lines, his play getting sold out in a matter of seconds & of course the famous Tencent Red Sea. I just believe they thought they could steal his data & his fans wouldn't say anything. Due to his cyberbullying incident a lot of his fans have tried to remain silent & not do anything to get Xiao Zhan in trouble. So, that probably made them think if they bully him by not giving him credit on the post (& giving the data to someone else) his fans will stay silent because they don't want to hurt him.

In the end I feel we should just wait & see what new information comes out. Hopefully this situation does get fixed in a way that benefits Xiao Zhan. After all he did spend 122 days filming this drama - which is actually more than the other actors that filmed it. So it would be a shame if they don't even give him his just credit for all the hard work he put in it. Let's just hope things get better for him - I think he has had enough of people using him & bullying him. Xiao Zhan is human & does deserve common courtesy & respect for his work - and all xFx want is for him to get those things.

At this point in time Xiao Zhan's FanClub has released a message stating how we should be rational & support his works as an actor. I have already stated that I personally will be buying the iQiyi VIP membership when this drama comes out. However, I will not give any unnecessary likes or views unless they properly credit him in the post. But again it is too early to tell what is going on & most likely as time goes on things will seem more clear.

Just in case no one knows - the Xiao Zhan FanClub has been recognized by Xiao Zhan & they tend to speak with his studio to see what kind of action they must take. So, this post most likely got the approval of Xiao Zhan, hence, why a lot of xFx are now more at ease & are willing to wait for more details in how to show support for his role.

Also, just to put some people's minds at ease - billing wars is not something new in this toxic industry. And also what happened to Xiao Zhan is also nothing new - them giving him the main lead just to later on take it away from him & give it to someone else. So, people saying things like "xFx are being toxic" - please remember that we didn't get into any fights with other fandoms, all they did was SILENTLY remove their likes & unfollow a page. I have seen billing wars get toxic to the point they are attacking each other on weibo - again I will not name names because I feel we shouldn't get ourselves involved in other people's situation (so please don't mention them). In the course of following C-entertainment (less than a year), I have seen 7 different fandoms get into it over a billing issue - & it got bad enough that it was on weibo hot search. So, YES other fandoms do get into this kind of issue & actually a lot worse than what happened to us. So, if u see anyone saying xFx are being toxic they most likely want to trigger u & get u upset - best solution is to ignore them & move on.

Anyways, I hope my jumbled up post helped some fans feel at ease lol. I know a lot of us got upset from the recent issue especially after everything he went through last year - but sadly it is just the toxicity of this industry & sometimes we just have to find a way to support him & also make sure he doesn't get bullied (again). And hopefully Xiao Zhan Studio & his fanclub will find a middle ground for us. Well, I hope to see u guys on Xiao Zhan drama pages so we can enjoy talking about Xiao Zhan & his works :D!!!! It's fun conversing on this page with you guys :)!

Trust me, they know about the purchasing power of xFx that is exactly why they are stealing Xiao Zhan's data. It's like the saying "they want their cake & eat it too". In other words, they want Xiao Zhan fans to help promote this drama like they did for Douluo Continent, however, they don't want to give Xiao Zhan the credit & also reduce his role in the drama to second lead.

Sadly, this is the toxicity of the C-entertainment & it is nothing new. That is why a lot of his fans are upset at this time but sadly we do have to keep a level head; even though they are doing some shady things to him. At the end of the day he is a part of the production team & we have to find a way to support his role.

Me, personally, I will be buying the VIP for iQiyi to help support the drama. However, like other xFx, I will not be going on weibo to help promote it UNLESS they give credit in the post to Xiao Zhan. They cannot do what they did before - which is steal his data & give it to other members. It must be credited to him.

Hopefully moving forward they rectify the situation & do properly give him credit. That is all xFx really want at this time. Anyone saying we want them to make Xiao Zhan 1st lead - it is absolutely FALSE!!!! We just want them to give credit. It's like when u do a group assignment for class & do the work - of course u would like ur name on the assignment. Or how else will u get the credit for the class? That is all we are asking - please put his name on ur post so he can actually get credit for this work. Or how else can he use this to better himself in the entertainment industry?

LOUDER!!! He is human & deserves better - just because he doesn't have the financial backing like others they think its okay to just steal his credit & data from him.

To be honest, I thought the same way as u before. Believing that what if this will cause more harm than good for Xiao Zhan. But than I started thinking that if his fans, xFx, stayed quite & let them steal XZ's data & information - than what is stopping the next "bully" from doing the same thing?

If we remain quite about this incident than others will think its okay to steal his data & use him because even his fans will stay quite & let it happen. And not like xFx left any rude comments or did anything excessive - they just silently unliked the posts & unfollowed the pages. That is their right to do so if they believe he is wronged. I would agree if they started throwing shade to iQiyi & the page but they just silently left & did not give them views/data that should have belonged to Xiao Zhan. Because remember if they do like the post - it doesn't go to XZ but the male lead - & xFx are not his fans so why give him the data. Also, if u give him the data it becomes a talking point for them to say "look see how much traffic our male lead is getting us, we didn't really need Xiao Zhan" - giving them more reasons to push Xiao Zhan to the side. Traffic & views is a BIG deal in C-entertainment - the more u get the more investors would want u. That is the main reason why Xiao Zhan's data is always stolen because he actually has real fans doing data for him unlike others who buy them.

Remember, this drama, went going to investors put Xiao Zhan has the main lead so they could get money. And for the weibo hot searches - his name again was #1 which indicated that he was supposed to get first billing. But, later on xFx found out they only did that in order to get heat from XZ fans & pushed him to the side in order to give the other lead all the credit. Like, a lot of people said we don't care if he is 1st billing or even 100th in billing (we loved Cai Ding) - but we just want him to get his credit for whatever role he has & properly tag him. Every other celeb was tagged but why not Xiao Zhan - & if there was a mistake than why not fix it once it became clear. It's not like they didn't realize that they were losing likes/views/followers. So, clearly it shows they knew what they were doing.

And don't worry too much about people not wanting to work with him - because this is actually not the first time this has happened. I don't want to name names but there was another time that a male actor & female actress got into it because of billing - in the end the male got the first billing. The fans of the female actress got upset & not because of 1st billing but the tactics that the male lead used in order to get it (they spread rumors & such). So, they didn't give that much attention to the drama but instead just to her role. And she is still the top actress in the industry - but now she isn't that easily bullied. --- It's just difficult because Xiao Zhan doesn't have the financial backing that a lot of other celebs do so its easy for him to get bullied by others - that is why xFx want to make sure this doesn't happen to him again. He already got paid for his role in Ace Troops so it won't impact him financially. And on top of that he is the spokesperson for Tencent - & no way Tencent letting him go. And trust me if Xiao Zhan wants to work with iQiyi they will love to have him - because he has the data to back him up & investors will line up for the drama. It's just now they will think twice before giving the credit to someone else - which is better for Xiao Zhan in his future projects.

In the end, I feel a lot of xFx will follow what Xiao Zhan & his studio does. If they come out & say give attention to the drama than his fans will. Like u said - his fans are very LOYAL to him & just don't want to see him get bullied. The drama isn't coming out until October I beleive - so they have plenty of time to fix the issue if they want to. So, its actually a good thing xFx are talking about it because if a bully steals money from u - u really think they will give it back if u keep quiet & just hope they will grow a conscious? NOPE, u best believe u have to tell someone or yell THIEF for that person to give it back.

Absolutely agree with this comment. We won't know anything until the iQiyi press conference on May 14th (which is today lol). And for all we know we might still not know anything until later (if they decide to hold out on that information).

Agreed! I feel the same way - back in 2019 if the renegotiation of his contract wasn't to his liking he probably wouldn't have withdrawn the lawsuit against WJJW. So, I think when he talked to them - it was probably more in his favor & he was okay with how his contract was structured. ---- So, he is probably getting paid more than he was before so it should be fine. And I know he prefers to at least be his own boss & choose his own scripts. Even though WJJW never really helped him before in looking for resources (what a useless agency).

Let's not even get started with Long Danni lol. I feel like she hates XZ or hates the fact he got popular even though she thought he was too old to become famous. I mean she has said that she wished someone else from her agency got the role for Wei Wuxian so they could get popular besides for Xiao Zhan - she is literally the worse. Idk how she is still the CEO for WJJW - she is a bonafide hater.

Oh definitely playing politics. Especially since they keep releasing trailers but never the actual drama. That is probably why there are so many rumors stating how Hunan is deliberately trying to prevent the airing of Oath of Love. But we don't know the actual truth, just those rumors - so I guess only time can tell :/.

To be honest, idk how it works with bank loans over there. But I am assuming that it must be REALLY expensive to cancel that contract or else he would have done it by now. He probably realized that if he payed it out than he would be losing a lot - so best to just stay put & power through it.

I have heard those contracts are really expensive to break so I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually a lot more than even how much he gets paid in the next 5 years.

However, I also feel that when he tried to break it back in 2019 that he probably negotiated his contract a little bit or else he would definitely find a way to break it. The information about him getting only a 20% cut is when he filmed the Untamed which is back in 2018. And he tried to get out of his contract back in 2019 - & he did work things out with them. SO, I am just speculating here, but maybe he also negotiated how much he would get along with being his own boss. We just don't know how much he gets right now.

And I know he has been working wtih Tencent a lot lately - and Tencent owns his agency WJJW (well they are the parent company). So, there must have been some kind of dealing between the 2 - but again just speculation on my part. I am not 100% about it.

Sadly, his agency is trash. WJJW is the worse of the worse. They are very bad at handling their idols & mainly just take the money they make but never handle marketing or get them any kind of resources.

With Xiao Zhan - his agency never got him resources. He got the role for Untamed, The Wolf & all the others by himself. His agency actually thought he was too old & just pushed him out the door hoping his career would die.

The main reason why Xiao Zhan wanted out of his contract back in 2019 was because his agency, WJJW, kept cancelling his variety shows & making his life difficult. Like XZ would book a show or have an endorsement deal and WJJW would then turn around & cancel them. Like, what kind of agency deliberately tries to ruin their own idol? So, ur right idk why they wouldn't help someone as popular as Xiao Zhan but WJJW is just a dumb agency or they probably couldn't handle the fact they were wrong about XZ. They probably hated the fact that he got popular even though they thought he wouldn't so they did their best to ruin him.

And it isn't just Xiao Zhan - they also have R1SE under them. And they treat all those members very poorly as well. Just an overall bad agency.

He can buy it out but from what I heard it is a lot of money to just directly pay it. So, a lot of people believe that he should just wait until his contract runs out & then negotiate a better one.

But, at least he has is own studio so he can make all the decisions for his future & decide on what projects he can take on. Like him being in the play was his idea & something he wanted to do. So, at least he has freedom when it comes to decision making.

Even though I would have preferred a release date - that new poster is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

Oh I see, I didn't know that. Well the company is trash so not surprised either. Always exploiting but never helping him. Just got to hope he can find a way to escape from them before his contract ends in 2026.
