This drama is actually quite fun to watch lol. I am really enjoying it so far. And I am loving Steven Zhang's acting in it especially when he switches.

Very true. But I am guessing since their seems to be only a few production companies (Tencent, iQiyi, Hunan, Dragon, etc) that they probably don't want to spend all that money promoting all their dramas. After all I do think they have like 1000 dramas a year almost. But I do feel like the popular dramas which are ranked S should definitely be properly promoted. Since they spend so much money on them - just feels like a waste to not give it proper recognition.

Yes totally. And I feel the fans of the actors were going to watch the drama regardless. The purpose of promotion is to widen the audience beyond just the fanbase. But for some reason I have never seen any drama do proper promoting. Maybe the production of dramas are so cheap they don't really need that many people to watch their dramas.

Yea it's very weird since they spend so much money on making the drama u would think they would also try to promote it so it could be successful. Kind of like they do here in America - they have ads, billboards, commercials & other means. Instead, they pull these weird tactics where they just say a popular actor/actress is in it & let the fanbases of those said actors do all the promotion. It's very weird but I guess they don't want to spend the money on promoting.

Tencent said they are definitely going to film a 2nd season. However, I know from other dramas that it takes a while if they do make a 2nd season. So, maybe u will get a 2nd season within like 2 years (if ur lucky) but it could definitely be more. I know Fight Breaks Sphere is also scheduled to have a 2nd season (I believe they are casting the actors for it) & the first season was released in 2018. And they haven't even filmed the 2nd season yet. But I know Douluo is really popular so it might not take as much time - but we have to see.

Sadly c-dramas tend to have the most chaotic release schedules ever & they make u really learn about the word patience lol.

I watched the entire drama but if ur asking about the anime version than, sorry, no I haven't. The drama was good & I was interested in it but the anime just didn't intrigue me that much. But I also watch a lot of anime already lol so maybe I just didn't want to pick up another one lol.

Xiao Zhan named his fandom xiao fei xia (xFx) so that is what his fans call themselves. So, xFx just means a Xiao Zhan fan.

Xiao Fei Xia = Peter Pan (or Shrimp)
But u will most likely see xFx being called shrimp/prawns because xiao fei xia sounds like shrimp.

I know for some award shows they look at movies/drama in a 2 year window. But idk what the case for this award show is. I just know most of the winners were for movies - at least what I saw on weibo. I didn't see it but the person ur talking about that didn't play in a movie could have just been a guest & they weren't supposed to win an award. I know some of the celebs were probably asked by weibo to come to the show in order to get views for their award show.

Sadly it isn't just other star fans that do this weird promotion. I know big companies would do it. That is probably why we see so many rumors of a certain actor being in a drama but later on find it isn't the case. Most likely the production company wanted to get heat for the drama they are about to film & the cheapest way to do that is pay somoene to spread a rumor that a certain popular actor is in it. All they have to do is say "Xiao Zhan is in this drama" & they will get a ton of heat & that will help them get investors to invest.

I think when trying to get investors all they have to do is show them how many times the drama was talked about. And once they see it has a good buzz online - they give them the money to start filming the drama. At the end of the day it is all about the MONEY.

That is so true! I have noticed they tend to do that a lot just to promote their drama. Like they don't promote it through normal means, instead will lie about a casting between 2 popular actors. And that will attract people to see the trailer or at least know about the drama more. I mean it seems like it works since they always do it.

You have a point. I guess I try to forget about what happened last year but ur right. He probably should just have this year as peaceful as possible without any extra tension. I mean he still gets it from anti's here & there but defiinitely not to the same level. And he seems to be enjoying acting in both the drama & play. So, yea best for him not to get into extra fandom wars & just enjoy this year. He definitely deserves that.

I also think Xiao Zhan's acting will be great. I actually believe that the female lead in Longest Promise will do a good job - I just thought since she was a newbie she would definitely have some flaws (I mean most do) but overall performance should be good. But ur right, when someone is around a good actor they tend to shine & can make people forget faults from other actors.

Oh yea I heard about the fandom wars from that drama. It was all over weibo hot search. I just forgot about that for a moment or thought it wouldn't happen to XZ (I know totally optimistic lol). Yea. . . .more I think about it the more I agree. Eventually he will be paired with a popular actress but it's good to have a break from that; at least for this year.

Lol, very true. Updates for this show are useless if their is no exact airing date lol. I feel they have given us like a million trailers - so I don't even get excited for a new trailer anymore. At this point the only update I want is a release date lol.

But ur definitely right, c-entertainment is way too toxic that their are toxic fan wars all the time. And most definitely will happen whenever 2 popular actors are in the same drama. But I guess only time will tell lol.

But ur right - at the end of day I just watch whatever Xiao Zhan is in. I just kind of hope he doesn't get paired with newbies all the time - I don't want him to shoulder the entire success of the drama.

Sadly it was just a rumor :/. According to those rumors Dilraba already has her next project & the male lead is not Xiao Zhan (sigh). So I guess we r going to have to wait until 2022 for a possible collaboration (fingers crossed).

I find it interesting that so manty people want Xiao Zhan & Dilraba to be in a drama together - but no one has made it possible yet. Just make it possible already, please!
